So, i have a dwarf in my two man military (mainly for thieves and wildlife) but hes about 109 years old and i was wondering whether this will have an effect on his combat effectiveness or will he die soon because i dont want to spend time training a doomed OAP

According to raw, 150-170 years, though that's assuming natural death of normal dwarf. I don't see anything to say that they'll be any worse as they age, so I suppose going strong until they kneels over.

I may be relatively new, but, as I see it, the necessary amount of magma is always more.
