MGS, never fails to impress.

The transition to gameplay was...  very surprising.

Aside from Metal Gear on the NES, I only played MGS2. It was good, but weird... and kind of short, too.

That game was awesome. Snake's Revenge was made of cheese, but I still beat it.

I'm just kind of glad this takes place before MGS1.  MGS3 was done so well because it didn't have the nanomachine bullshit.  I'll look forward to this.

You're pretty good.

9-10 minutes of cutscene followed by 30 seconds of gameplay.  That's MGS for sure.

I'll be in my bunk.

There was a subtitled trailer released sometime yesterday that implies this is a direct sequel to Peace Walker, and probably taking place a few years after it. Thus, this is Big Boss/Vic Boss.

Also Kojima has specifically stated it's Ground Zeroes.

Also, the intro takes place in Cuba, and I recall hearing somewhere that it's supposed to be world-wide, but I can't back that up.

Here's hoping it's released on PC and has Peace Walker-type multiplayer again, I'd be all over that.

It doesn't just take place in Cuba. It takes place in Guantanamo Bay. Looks like Kojima is going all out with his scathing political statements this time. Even one interpretation of the name "Ground Zeroes" can be taken as political. Which is all very strange since this is almost certainly taking place in the late-70's/early-80's.

I'm kind of sad it didn't turn out to be the story of the Cobras, though. Maybe next time.

My only MGS game is Snake Eater. I'm assuming thats MGS3? If so that game was the bomb. Absolutely amazing.

Except the place is in Cuba, and it's called Camp Omega.

And? It's obviously a strong reference at the least, and just a renaming at most. There aren't that many US prison camps on Cuban soil.

I don't think there are enough pants to contain the pooping that occurred when I realized the cutscene had actually transitioned into the game that smoothly.

I'm not even sure it was a cutscene. I think they actually might just have been using model animations in-map that whole time.
