After much deliberation you determine that Tiruin must be eliminated from the competition!  You are about to go and alert the organizer to his rigged shuffling, but before you can a mysterious figure approaches you.  You can't remember exactly what he said, but after he leaves you all feel quite sure that Tiruin's head looks better atop his shoulders, and thus you decide to break up without lynching anyone.

It is now night.  Please submit your night actions to me within the next 48 hours.

Even though he's on his last legs Toaster sends his Bernard Bronzefist to attack Tiruin.  It clashes with Tiruin's Jack of Diamonds, and after an intense fight manages to slay it.  Toaster manages to force a weak smile.
"You're defenceless now!  And this move will finish you off!" Toaster reaches into his sleeve and pulls out his final trick, Sleight of Mind.  But as he attempts to cast it strange black lines cover the card, and it seems to explode in his hands!  Toaster in his already critically weakened state cannot survive the explosion, and collapses to the floor.

"What the hell are you two doing??" says Hapah, "Can't you see that TolyK was the one who tricked you into receiving that Letterbomb?  He's been playing all of us for fools the whole time!"  Hapah sends The Fool to attack TolyK.  The attack connects, but TolyK remains standing.  A smirk spreads across his face.
"That's certainly true.  My entire role here was to spread confusion and support my friend."  TolyK tosses a just used Censorship card to the floor.  "But really, I'm not the one you should be worrying about right now."  As he says it, the door is blown off its hinges and his partner walks into the room.  His partner... and an enormous array of slivers.  Sliver Queen, Brood Sliver, Might Sliver and no fewer than four more deadly looking slivers.

Hapah quickly activates The Hermit and flees the building.  In the face of an army that large, he can only concede defeat.  He tries not to look back as the sliver horde devours Tiruin and Toaster, and with them the last hopes of stopping the syndicate.  The bad guys have won the tournament.

Tiruin has lost all his health.
Toaster has lost all his health.
Hapah has given up and fled due to being outnumbered by the mafia.

TolyK, having successfully eliminated all town players, concedes victory in the tournament to his partner and wins the game!

One note I should add is that I made a mistake on one of Deathsword's cards.  It was meant to have a note about causing terror to enemy monsters which I left off, causing an apparent oddity to arise in night 3.  It probably wouldn't've affected the outcome but it was a bad oversight on my part.

Hapah actually had a very damning case against TolyK so I'm confused as to why that wasn't pressed harder (especially since TolyK's response was "Hey, maybe Toaster is scum as well!"... that would still make you scum, TolyK).

The Town deserved that loss. Not even kidding. Because that was literally the worst Day 1 I've ever seen. Book made up a whole ton of things, and everyone believed him for no reason. And he was Town. That's what gets me.

The setup - overview
With this setup I wanted to try and give players more of a choice than normal with their actions, while not making their roles too powerful.  I was quite happy with the scumteam - they had a lot of discussion about what to do each night - but some players ended up receiving more no-brainery roles.  I still think it was a pretty good game overall though, with all players engaging and playing the game.

I also wanted to trial a new extension system (seemed to work reasonably - limited extensions helps stop them dragging the game on and bleeding away all activity) and provide an inherent reason in the setup for not massclaiming early (mainly from the "card shark" role).  So without further ado, the role pms.

You are a Card Shark.  You have no natural win condition.

You know in order to release the seal you have to perform an assembly ritual.  So before the tournament starts you find 4 other players, and swap one card from each of them with four cards of yours without them noticing.  In order to break the seal and win the tournament you must find those cards once again.

Cards:
Exodia the Forbidden One: If you hold this card along with "Right Arm of the Forbidden One", "Left Arm of the Forbidden One", "Right Leg of the Forbidden One" and "Left Leg of the Forbidden One" you win and every other player loses.  This ability cannot be negated.

The Seven of Wands: Use this card within the first 24 hours a day phase.  All other players must choose a card to offer to you.  You see all these cards during the night and get to choose which one to take.  All other cards are returned to their rightful owners.  This card is exiled after use.

Hive Mind: Use this card during the night.  Choose one other player.  You receive a copy of all cards in their hand.  These cards disappear after the following night.  This card is discarded after use.

Gimme!  Gimme!  GIMME!: Use this card during the night.  Name up to 4 cards and select a target player.  If that target holds any of those cards you will take them.  This card is discarded after use.

Keeper of the Sacred Word: Use this card during the night.  Name a card.  If that card is in the graveyard it is added to your hand.  This card returns to your hand after use, and does not use up your night action.  This card will be exiled if you die holding it.

Think0028 submitted the 5 pieces of Exodia as his cards.  I had actually come up with an idea for what to do in this scenario before hosting the game - swap out the pieces and have the player collect them.  "Keeper of the Sacred Word" is really his trump card - he can use it to Exodia fish, regain his Gimme card or even grab a powerful card like Ace of Spades to help off opponents.

I thought this role was pretty balanced, but of course it was killed before we got to see whether I was right in thinking that.

Think0028 had no win condition and thus could only win via Exodia collection, but any other player could also become the lone victor by collecting the 5 pieces of Exodia.  Of course, the chances of that happening would be extremely low.

Spoiler: Mafia roles (click to show/hide)

Win condition: "You win when all non-mafia players are dead, or when nothing can prevent that from happening."  The exact wording leaves it slightly ambiguous, but the event of everyone dying would make it a draw for all mafia and town players.

The mafia in this game consisted of an extremely powerful creaturehouse (Urist Imiknorris) and a player with a bunch of trickster type abilities to back him up (TolyK).  The mafia possessed two group abilities:

Defend: You may send a creature you control to block attacks aimed at your partner.  This ability does not use up your night action.

Card Snipe: If neither of you are performing any attacks this night one of you may use this ability.  Choose one card in your hand and one player - that player will die and your card will be discarded.  In the morning the card used to kill that player will be announced.

Defend is there so that TolyK could receive some cover from Urist Imiknorris if it were needed.  Card Snipe is a weakened version of the mafiakill, primarily intended for the first night or in the event that Urist Imiknorris died.

Cards:
Virulent Sliver: Creature with stats 1/1.  If a sliver you control deals damage to a player while this card is summoned that player will be poisoned.  A poisoned player will lose 1 health every morning.  This creature cannot attack during the night it is summoned.

Might Sliver: Creature with stats 2/2.  All slivers you control have +2/+2.  This creature cannot attack during the night it is summoned.

Brood Sliver: Creature with stats 3/3.  Whenever a sliver you control deals combat damage to player a 1/1 "Sliver" is summoned to your side of the field.  This creature cannot attack during the night it is summoned.

Sliver Queen: Creature with stats 7/7.  If this creature is present on your side of the field in the evening then a 1/1 "Sliver" is summoned to your side of the field.  This creature cannot attack during the night it is summoned.

Sliver Legion: Creature with stats 7/7.  All slivers on your side of the field get +1/+1 for each other sliver on your side of the field.  This creature cannot attack during the night it is summoned.

A straightforward beatstick role, capable of doing doublekills from night 3 onwards and causing nasty damage even on night 2.  No other player has much hope in taking Urist Imiknorris on in a creature fight.  I thought it'd be suspicious for him to claim this role due to its extreme power, but it seemed to work out for him.

Cards:
_____:  This cards name and apparent ability text can become anything you want it to - just pm me to change it at any time. This card cannot actually perform any abilities.  The italicised text in this card will only be revealed to someone who holds this card in their hand and it cannot be changed.


Censorship: Use this ability during the night.  Name any card.  Any player attempting to use that card from now on will receive 5 damage and have that card's ability fail.  After use this card is discarded.

Keeper of the Sacred Word

Left Leg of the Forbidden One: A forbidden left leg sealed by magic. Whosoever breaks this seal will know infinite power.


Letter Bomb - Use this ability during the day.  Select one other player.  That player will be offered a mystery card, which they can accept or refuse.  If they accept then they receive this card.  A player receiving this card will also receive 9 damage.

Take Off - Use this ability during the night.  Deal 1 damage to all town players.  This ability will not work if the mafia's group kill ability is used during the same night as it.  After use this card remains in the user's hand.

TolyK's role had a trickster flavour.  I was originally intending to have Letterbomb being something you receive non-voluntarily, but that seemed to cause too much damage when I imagined it being passed around.  Censorship was an added "don't massclaim early" reason, while Take Off was to give him something to do when no mafiakill was being performed.

Fun fact about _____: even though it has no ability, it still counts as having the name.  Two oddities arise from this.
1. If it's named after an Exodia piece it can be used to complete the Exodia set (exception: it cannot be used in place of Exodia the Forbidden One as that card's ability is what causes the win).  Thus it would be a real boon for Think if he found it, being basically a wildcard.
2. If it's named and correctly formatted as a creature Zrk2's "Master of the Deck" card could reproduce and summon it for somebody.  It would have no abilities due to the italics (just as well, otherwise it could be a creature that instantly causes everyone to simultaneously win and lose the game), but it could potentially be a 100/100 creature.  This isn't very likely though considering it would basically require co-operation between a town player and a mafia player.

Cards:
Red Card: Use this ability during the day.  Choose one other player.  That player will be temporarily removed from the game, and they will be unable to talk, perform any actions or vote until the following evening (IE after one night has passed).  This card is discarded after use.

The Emperor: Use this ability during the night.  Choose one other player.  That player will lose a vote, and you will gain a vote for the following day.  This card is discarded after use.

Get Out of Jail Free: Use this card during the night.  Choose one other player.   That player will be immune to all attacks and kills performed against them tonight.  They then receive this card.

Right Leg of the Forbidden One: A forbidden right leg sealed by magic. Whosoever breaks this seal will know infinite power.


The inevitable heat death of the universe: Use this ability at night.  From this night on you have a defensive aura.  This aura will cause the strongest creature attacking you each night to turn away from the futility of it all.  This can only work once on each creature.  This card remains "summoned" by you after use.

Book's role had a decent defensive tool and a passable doctor-like ability.  He also had two "reverse lylo-breaker" cards, meaning he could potentially beat 2 scum on his own (note that if the last anti-town player is banished with Red Card the town would win at that point).  Both had clear possibilities for backfiring however.

Nemesis of Reason: Creature with stats 3/7.  It cannot attack on the turn it is summoned.  If this card attacks an opponent a random card in their hand will be rendered unusable until the next morning (after another night has passed).  If this card is able to attack but does not then a random one of your cards is disabled until the following morning.  This card inspires terror in some opposing monsters.  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

Gomazoa: Creature with stats 0/3.  This card cannot attack.  When this card blocks both it and the attacking creature are exiled.  Both creatures are returned to their owners' hands after the following night.  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

Tidehollow Sculler: Use this ability during the night.  Choose one other player.  If that player is attempting to use a card that ability is blocked, and that card is exiled.  If you die the exiled card returns to their hand.  After use this card is discarded.

Hive Mind

Left Arm of the Forbidden One: A forbidden left arm sealed by magic. Whosoever breaks this seal will know infinite power.

Near-Death Experience: Use this ability during either the night or the day.  You must have exactly 1 health to use this ability.  Your health increases to 30.  After use this card is discarded.

Goof: I intended to include the bolded text in Nemesis of Reason to imply that it was immune to the effects of Jack of Diamonds and Magi of High House Dark due to its unfathomable horribleness.  By the time I realised I'd left it out Deathsword was already dead so I couldn't issue a correction.

This role has a decent defensive tool and some ways to screw up people you don't like.  Near-Death Experience was a gimmick that would have come very much in handy if TolyK had chosen to give Deathsword the Letterbomb.

The Hanged Man: Use this ability during the night.  If you have The Fool summoned it gains +2/+2 and the ability to block and attack in the same turn (this is optional).  After use this card is discarded.

The Hermit: Use this ability during the night.  During this night you are immune to all actions.  If you have The Fool summoned it gains +1/+1, and it cannot die during a battle in which it is attacking.  After use this card is discarded.

Wheel of Fortune: Use this card during the night.  All players receive a random card from the discard pile.  If there are not enough cards in the discard pile for this to happen then this ability fails.  If you have The Fool summoned it gains +1/+1, and if The Fool is killed in battle you gain control of the killer.  After use this card is discarded.

Judgement: Use this card during the night.  Choose one other player and one other card in your hand.  The card in your hand is dicarded, and you learn the names of all cards in the targetted player's hand.  If you have The Fool summoned it gains 1/1 and Trample (continues dealing damage to the next blocker or player after killing a blocker).  After use this card is discarded.

The Fool: Creature with stats 1/1.  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

The idea was that The Fool would get stronger each night.  In practice the stat bonuses were not big enough for it to become that viable a creature, and I didn't account for 10 players making the game so much shorter that The Fool wouldn't have much time boosted anyway.  Judgement is a pretty decent card considering the likeliness of mafia fakeclaims, as is The Hermit.

Ace of Spades: Use this ability during the day.  Choose one player.  That player receives this card.  If you receive this card during the day you cannot pass it on until the following day.  If you are holding this card on the morning of the third day you will die.

Jack of Diamonds: Creature with stats 5/5.  When attacking someone it will always target their creature with the highest combined attack and defence score, even if that creature is out attacking (if the player has no creatures it will instead attack the player).  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

Queen of Clubs: Use this ability during the night.  Choose one other player.  You will be told the name and ability of the card they used that night.  If they did not use any card you will be told so.  This card is discarded after use.

King of Hearts:  If you are lynched while holding the King of Hearts you will discard all of your cards instead of dying.

Joker: Use this ability during the day or the night.  Select any other card currently in your hand.  This card becomes a copy of that one (note that it will not be able to change again).

Tiruin submitted a picture with these 5 cards on it.  I should probably explain how I came to these powers:
Ace of Spades: The black spot, as in Treasure Island.  The idea of "your days are numbered".
Jack of Diamonds: French Jacks of Diamonds are apparently associated with Hector, a hero of the Iliad, famous for a duel.  I ran with it.
Queen of Clubs: Apparently associated with wisdom.
King of Hearts: Based on Alice in Wonderland.  The Queen of Hearts would sentence everyone to be beheaded and the King would go and quietly pardon most of them.
Joker: obvious.

Tiruin ended up with a one-shot vig and potentially two 5-power attackers, meaning he could maybe kill more than one person over the course of a game.  Ace of Spades would probably be the only way to take down Urist Imiknorris other than a lynch.

Cards:
Bernard Bronzefist: Creature with stats 5/1.  This creature cannot die when attacking.  Any cards destroyed by it are exiled instead of discarded.  If this creature dies, deal 3 damage to the player whose creature was responsible.  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

Hungry Tentacles: Use this ability during the night.  Target one other player.  That player loses 4 life, and you gain 4.  After use this card is discarded.

Censorship: Use this ability during the night.  Name any card.  Any player attempting to use that card from now on will receive 5 damage and have that card's ability fail.  After use this card is discarded.

Sleight of Mind: Use this ability during the night.  Select two other players.  All targetted abilities and attacks performed by the first chosen player will target the second chosen player.  After use this card is discarded.

A nice 9 points of damage from the first two cards, and some ability interference stuff in the bottom.  As far as I can tell Toaster misinterpreted Sleight of Mind as a bus rather than a redirect - I don't see any ambiguity in the card description, although I do see that I misspelled "targeted".

Cards:
UNO Red 3: Use this card during the night.  Choose one of the following actions: gain 3 life, choose a player to lose 3 life, give the town 3 additional extensions or look at 3 random cards in the graveyard (fails if there are not enough cards currently in the graveyard).  After use this card is discarded.

How to Play Poker: Use this card during the night.  Choose one card that was previously in your hand.  The positions of that card and this card swap.  If the named card is exiled this ability fails.


Old Maid (ugly): Use this card during the night.  Choose one other player.  You take control of a random creature they have summoned, and then give them this card.  If they have no creatures then this effect fails.

Adam Reposa's Business Card: Use this card during the night.  Choose one other player.  You will be told their alignment, but you will not be allowed to vote for that player for the rest of the game.  After use this card is exiled.

Miley Cyrus' (joke) driving license: As long as you hold this card you are a singing sensation by night.  You can broadcast one anonymous message to all other players per night (this does not use up your night action).  PM me with the message you would like to send and it will be included in the morning post (marked as non-mod communication).

Shame he got lynched day one, webadict had a 100% sane inspection, a very powerful ability even with the drawback.  The Uno card was moderately useful and reusable, while Old Maid could've hilariously screwed over Urist Imiknorris.  I was also looking forward to daily broadcasts.  Nevermind.

King of High House Death: Use this ability during the night.  Choose one dead player.  A quickchat will be provided for you to talk to that player.  After use this card is discarded.

Knight of High House Dark: Creature with stats 4/3.  One time only you may transform it into a 10/10 creature for that night (this ability does not use up your night action).  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

Assassin of High House Shadow: Creature with stats 1/1.  When this card is attacking you can name one creature - if the defender controls a creature of that name then it is killed and this creature will return alive.  After use this card remains summoned on your side of the field.

Magi of High House Dark: Creature with stats 2/6.  If he survives an attack on another player you will be told the names of all creatures that player has summoned.

Master of the Deck: Use this ability during the night.  Choose one other player and name a creature.  If the creature name provided is a valid in this game then the targetted player will receive a summoned copy of that creature, otherwise this ability fails.  After use this card is discarded.

I still can't spell targeted.  Between the assassination and a 10/10 creature he maybe had a chance to at least put a dent in Urist Imiknorris' army.  Master of the Deck had decent potential but ultimately would require him to trust someone else, which could be difficult with the town inspector dead.

There was no deadchat because this role could talk to the dead.

Confusion was caused here by me forgetting to hint at Nemesis of Reason's ability.

Toaster: give letterbomb to Tiruin (refused).
Tiruin resists being lynched and loses all his unsummoned cards.

Hapah casts The Hermit and attacks TolyK with The Fool (3/3, can't die, trample).
Tiruin does nothing at all
Toaster redirects TolyK to Tiruin, and attacks Tiruin with Bronzefist.

Mafia:
TolyK censors sleight of mind.
UI summons Might Sliver, and:
- Attacks Tiruin with Sliver Queen (9/9), Brood Sliver (5/5), Sliver (3/3)
- Attacks Toaster with three slivers (3/3 each)

Result:
Hapah survives.
Tiruin's Jack of Diamonds is destroyed and his health is eradicated by slivers/ bronzefist.
Toaster's Sleight of Mind is blocked and he takes a hit from each sliver, leaving him at a fancy -13 health.

TolyK takes 3 damage but it doesn't really matter.

According to my own rules it would be Sliver Queen that took out Jack of Diamonds, but considering Tiruin was losing all his health anyway I took a liberty with the closing flavour.

Furthermore, other than Hapah attacking TolyK night 3 (for three damage) not a single hostile action was performed against any mafia member.  And there were quite a lot of them.
