In the very first livestream they show having multiple levels...

"Oh, that's the overlay for the upper levels"

Money, meet screen. Screen, meet money. Money, screen, please give birth to game.

Seriously, this sounds damn awesome. Even if it's just SS13 minus BYOND's infamous lag, that's still definitely worth my time. It sounds like it's in first-person, so that'll make things a hell of a lot more tense when there's antags about since they'd be able to actually sneak around. Do want.

Plus, it sounds pretty moddable. THIS IS PLEASING TO ME.

This.

Wasn't there already a thread for Centration?

(Edit: It reached three pages, and the last post was only two days ago.)

The other thread says kickstart discussion.

So I pre-purchased it for $15 based on the sole reason that I could never play SS13 due to lag/input lag problems. Any idea when the alpha starts?

This thread was started September 01, 2012.
That thread was started July 08, 2013.

This is the already-existing thread.  Which is why I bumped it with the Kickstarter link on June 28, 2013 (a full 10 days before that thread existed).

You need to find another SS13 server. Lag problems are mostly at the server end because byond tries to do everything at the host.

Well this just got green lit on steam so there must be a big following ? And they do update their blog often.

I'm still not sure they do have a store to pre order and get into the alpha/beta but I think I will wait till there is more in show, the game could either be fucking amazing of shit.

Try our private SS13 server,  Urist McStation. It's generally lag-free, unless the singularity is loose.

What they show is still a flat station. There are no levels above or below, which is horrendously inefficient and lacks much thought in design.
Except for the fact it isn't? Even the twitch livestream thing they did 5 months ago to show off basic features had, gasp, ladders and above levels. Implying that yes, they plan for you to be able to move vertically through the station in some manner.
Even if they ship a boring space station, as long as it has mod tools people can add revolutionary things like windows that have bottom areas, so you can take cover. Or objects you can clamber atop of and use to hide. Presumably they're using tilesets for the station's halls, so airvents and under-areas could be added.

I'm not excited for this, BUT I think it has potential, and if it takes that potential and shoves it down my throat, I MIGHT become excited.
...dear god what did I just say?

Anyways, super dwarf bonus if the devs or modders add gruesome airlock deaths reminiscent of deadspace!

So this is now on steam early access. I really want this to be good but it's a little early to be on steam right now though.

Has anyone purchased this yet ? Does it look like it has the ability to be the next SS13?

Only SS13 can be the next SS13, imho. OpenBYOND is being worked on so...

I dunno. There's just something with the way the game looks that annoys me.
