Equality in Communism is social equality: the State guarantees that you will have a home, a job and something to eat, but your political, economical and religious freedoms are curtailed. Equality in Liberalism is equality of opportunities: no one dictates what you should do and what you should not do, however, if you are fired and need to pay for mortgage, heaven help you.
