"A crash of drums! A flash of light! My golden coat, flew out of sight! The colours faded into darkness I was left alone...
May I return, to the beginning?
The light is dimming, and the dream is too.
Any dream will, any dream will do. Any dream will do.
"

It was a reenacted memory of my childhood, shrouded in darkness - and as I watched myself perform on stage as a child, so too did I applause from the audience as a spectator.

I dreamt last night that my mom killed my dad and drove off and the cops were looking for her, and i was all alone and had to take care of the animals and everything by myself with no money. It was horrible.

I dreamed I was playing a graphically perfect The Sims where I was able to float around manipulating the environment to make people go crazy and murder each other.  So basically I was a spooky mischievous specter but in the context of a funny life sim.

Like I dropped a tea bag in someone's ice water when they weren't looking and couldn't stop laughing at how mad they got

Edit: Also something something leveling up horses over a week by feeding them different things culminating in a game of... cricket or something?  That one that involves horses except in my dream they just played it themselves

I had a dream that I got a dog.  And then shopping for something I left him at a store.  And then didn't go back to get him for two days.  Also I had no leash for him.

I had a dream that I was a terrible dog owner.   :-X

There's a recurring dream I have. I'm in different museums, hotels and exhibition halls. Some are art deco with sunset-burned carpets and sandstone pillars and amber-panelled walls. Others are tropic with tiered baths and sweet-singing birds and fat dads doing cannonballs in bermudas. Some are the heavy-set stone brute designs of Boston where it's always grey. The places are different, the exhibition is always the same. It travels. Inside the venue it's always dark, there are few people but mostly museum-whispers. There are floor-to-ceiling heavy black drapes covering the walls. And coloured banners every few feet hung high above your head showing the main attraction. There are a few pieces usually on display - a Tesla coil, swords, stone tablets, all kinds of technology and archaeology. And in the middle of the room on a plinth and illuminated from below is the Brass Door. It's enormous, and dead-serious about doing you harm if you don't respect it. I've always looked at the exhibits with interest, enjoyed the exhibition, usually with some kind of girlfriend I think. But I know that the door, while beautiful, is dangerous. It's the unspoken kind of dangerous. If I opened it I think nothing would happen nine times out of ten. But on the tenth one it would be something strange - probably time-travel of some kind maybe. Or maybe it would just be black. Whatever it is, I'm supposed to go through it one day.

PS - anyone else make dream maps? I love marking down where in a dreamscape things happened. Sometimes I just know when things are 'south' or 'north' etc.

Sounds like the plot of Cult Simulator.  Get to far into the dreamscape and you could attain enlightenment and power, but risk going insane or eaten by an occult entity.  :)

I died. I was with a group, and we were exploring a cave, and inside was a square room that looked like a temple with a really high ceiling. As soon as we entered the doorway was sealed by a slab of stone dropped from above, and lava started oozing from slits high up on the walls.

From behind one of the blocks in the middle of the room came a guy that honestly looked like an orc, greenish skin and bulky muscular build and all. And he had a hand gun, and he was pissed at us. There was an attempt to calm him down and try to escape, but instead he just shot me, and then everyone else, and I remember getting really cold before everything faded away for a while. Then I saw the green dude pouting on top of a block while the room filled with lava. It was a crappy dream.

Just the other night I had another crappy dream. This time there was a greed demon haunting our house, and we tried to have it excorcised, but it got loose and started turning everything into voracious purple monsters and tendrils that engulfed everything. So we got in the car and drove like hell, but the things just kept expanding, and monsters would hunt people down and kill them. It ate towns, then counties, and soon the whole world. The only salvation were islands with naval and anti-air protection and shit, because the demons couldn't swim but would commandeer boats.

So we made it to one of these small protected islands, and it was overall a pretty nice place. So we stayed there for years, before someone pulled a piece of junk like a sealed fuel tank out of the water. Guess what was in it? The demons. They immediately overpowered the guards and started eating everything and multiplying all across the island and this time there was nowhere left to run to. But then I woke up.

Tl;dr: I was at a bar full of dangerous (cartel?) gangsters when a violent brawl broke out and my first thought was to rush to the bartender and put an appropriate song on, but then I couldn't think of the name of the song I wanted and by the time I'd wracked my brain to remember the bartender told me someone else had already put something on the jukebox and I was shattered.

Basically, after binge-watching so much Brooklyn Nine Nine I think it inspired last night's dreams at least partially. I can't remember for sure if the main character was an undercover cop, but I think he was something along those lines.

after eating red raspberry ice cream before bed

dream of a fantasy thriller with muppets and multidimensional monsters, first part of the dream was just a routine inspection of a house that quickly went out of control with a shootout, lots of really good dodging on everybody's part.  turns out the house was taken over by these strange cultists who found out about the multidimensional monsters and were trying to bring about an apocalypse. after going over the evidence we discovered next target was a junkyard with muppets, surprisingly no oscar.  at the scene muppets were trying to flee an encroachment of the bad guys, so more shootouts.  had to track down the mastermind of the conspiracy and end it with a big explosion.  there was just enough time to break the 4th wall and have multiple endings, one of which of course had david bowie.  i don't quite remember but there was a bad ending.  the good endings i remember more clearly, sealing up the portals and going back to the station.  i think that at the end there was a coffee or some sort of treat, hard to remember everything.

I was nothing, I was a nonentity. I existed only to watch, deep in the twisted digestive tract of Leviathan.

I saw a mighty orc run through the esophageal halls of Leviathan, laughing with a mad gleam in his eyes. A pack of baying hounds ran at his leash, hounds like enormous bulldogs, fantastical and savage. Somehow I knew this orc had been running thus for countless eons, seeking escape but never finding it.

Far behind, another orc ran, like unto the first-- but he was grim. There were no hounds at his leash, and no laughter in his throat. I knew him to be brother to the orc-who-laughed, and I knew the hounds belonged to him, and that Laughing Brother had stolen them. Grim Brother ran with desperate fury: I knew, and Grim Brother knew, that the hounds would die if they ran much longer, though they had run already for many centuries.

Laughing Brother drew the hound-pack to a stop suddenly, in a damp and living chamber. A puckered sphincter opened and closed in the wall: here, I knew, here, Laughing Brother knew, was the throat of Leviathan. Escape at last!

But now Grim Brother came, seeking vengeance for Laughing Brother's ancient crime; he clutched a loaded crossbow in his gnarled hand. Laughing Brother wheeled, and smiled. There was madness in the eyes of the brothers both.

The dream moved. I do not know how that alien scene ended. But when I saw Laughing Brother smile, the hounds sprawled exhausted about him, I knew in my heart that only one of the two orcs would escape Leviathan alive.

Yeah, that was a weird night. My sleep cycle has been erratic lately.

Dreamed that a lot of coworkers and I were holed in my grandmother's house while a xenomorph picked us off, one by one.  Strangely, the xenomoprh was telepathic and had a feminine voice, which it used to taunt us before each attack.  When it threatened me, I told it, "We'll see about that!" and proceeded to shoot at it with a pistol that materialized from nowhere.  Except the pistol didn't work because it was loaded with a lego block and what appeared to be three different sizes of bullet, including some kind of bizarre .112 caliber bullet according to a random person with us.

The dream ended after we shot the xenomorph a few times, but it wasn't dead yet.  I'm pretty sure the dream actually continued past that point, but the memories were too hazy to solidify when I woke up.

I was after a night shift so I spent like 16 hours sleeping, a lot of dreams were had.

I was playing Rimworld but somehow I could see it as a side-view point of view instead of from up-above, it was weird and everything was just a box.
Then I was in my old school and my female classmate let me touch her hair and she touched mine, we had a discussion on how to keep our hair soft and avoid it drying up.

aaaand... huh, I thought I remembered more when I woke up ten seconds later. Might edit later.

Just now, as long as I kept my eyes closed, I had a very clear view of a vertigo-inducing "spire" of grassy earth reaching up into the sky.  Not a straight vertical tower, but a "natural", somewhat curved "path" of ground fading into the blue sky.  The longer I looked at it the more I woke up and realized how impossible it was, but it was beautiful too.  I couldn't help imagining trying to clamber up it, or the idea of people digging out the core and living/journeying inside, and I felt really dizzy and somewhat horrified (like that feel of looking at the night sky from an open field, and feeling... unanchored).  I eventually had to blink and it was gone.

I was cycling through a rural area like my family used to do a lot, and kept noticing bits of semi-useful junk on the side of the road.  I was dismissive at first but soon stopped, salvaging is fun and eco-friendly!  But this piece (a pair of cracked shades?) was part of a "free yard sale".  Quite a few people were milling around, ignoring me (I didn't exactly fit in with their rural aesthetic).

An odd plaque caught my attention.  It featured a masonry tool, a commendation of the receiver's work, and a promise that its value was exactly $17.93.  The arbitrary-ness was very funny to me, and I tried to point it out to the people.  They chuckled a bit that I didn't understand, and agreed it certainly looked amusing out of context.  They let me take it.

(I have a framed "golden" paintbrush my grandfather was awarded for his furniture work.  He wasn't in the masons though.  That honor goes to the other side of my family, which I'm visiting tomorrow for an uncle-in-law's funeral.  It feels like they live in a different world sometimes.  The "yard sale" was a little somber, but also just a normal part of life.)

So my GF in the dream who is not my irl-GF move into a giant two-story house left behind by a deceased previous owner. For some reason we get his dog too. Then we somehow solve the mystery of his death my discovering that his garage (which is also a FUCKING AIRPLANE HANGAR) has a foam-based fire suppression system. Then the dog attacks me and my mom was living in the hangar/garage the whole time but moves out. Then my not-real-GF and I watch porn and get into a fight because her kinks are too extreme for me. Then we go watch Silence of the Lambs in theaters, and there's an audience participation part. Not-real-GF dies in a nonspecific accident yet somehow emerges from the theater with us yet we're still sad about it.

Also in the middle of this not-GF and I were supernatural detectives, like Scooby-Doo or maybe Supernatural. That was how we came into owning the house and solving the previous owner's death.
