I wish I had dreams. I never remember my dreams. EVER.
Fix'd. Everybody spends a large part of their sleeptime hallucinating; they just often forget it.
You think we don't know that? I've been aware of this since I was... seven? But I still say that I don't dream. You know why? It's easier to say. It sounds grimmer. Now, I can't say that these are werty's reasons, but it's generally a known thing by us.
If people know things then they should say those things that they know, rather than a different thing.
Think about it this way: I know pain hurts. However, when I'm about to go through pain, all I need to do is tell myself that the pain won't hurt, that the pain will feel good. It stops hurting and becomes soothing. The lies are truths. If antonyms are synonyms, then who's to say that it doesn't stretch beyond that?
Pretty sure that doesn't work.

For one dream a while back, I was going to an arcade. But when I walked in, the marble floor started to flood with water. There was a garden gnome on a fountain nearby. I walked to the gnome and asked, "If the arcade is flooded, what can I do?" He said, "Go to the movies." I left the arcade and drove to the movies. I went in and watched a movie that was first close-ups of people as they were travelling in high-speed vehicles, then about a redneck family using a magic red icebox to time travel, and then finally something about dinosaurs. When it ended, everyone in the theatre was silent except for two booing elderly men.

I left, only to find two frat bros throwing garbage at my car. I charged at them, but one yelled, "Watch the crack!" Suddenly, the concrete below me sprung up and I flew high into the air, before landing on my back. I rolled around as they laughed at me, and I thought I broke my spine until I realized I was fine. I got up and chased them to some apartments. One fled inside the apartments, but I caught the other and started punching him. My punches made him stumble and fall, but did no actual damage. So I grabbed him and began throwing him into a garage door, trying to inflict damage on him. Then I woke up.

There are two dreams that I can remember that have been scared into my mind, for some reason. I am not going to post the first one because it was...uncomfortably weird. But the more recent one was a few months ago.

It began with me and two other people (conveniently forgettable faces) running through a street. A helicopter flew overhead, and four people who were standing, tied up, at the edge of the helicopter (it had an open side door) had their heads instantaneously explode. Keep running through the street, get to an office. Can't remember what happened in the office, that part was a bit fuzzy. But then me and the other two people went back outside. Then is when stuff gets weird. There was a (one or two storey) building, and a young boy (8 or 9 years old) being prepared to be hung from the top of the building. He jumped down and started running, and I began to chase after him. Two security guard / policemen were chasing after the boy, too, but I got to the store he ran in first. The guards ran past me, and dragged the boy out, but he shook them off and threw a large book (a diary, it's fun how dreams let you know things you wouldn't logically know) into a puddle by my feet before he was dragged away, back to the building he escaped from.

I picked up the book, knowing somehow that it contained a great mystery to be solved, required to learn about the events surrounding this child's execution. Fast forward to the actual execution. I am standing in a lake, crying. As the boy begins to fall, I wake up at that exact moment. I still wonder what was in the book. That dream shook me up for quite some time, and is the only time that I've experienced that cliche of waking up (or feeling like you woke up) right at the most terrible part of a dream. I still remember it very vividly though and it's been at least a few months.

I just had some long, dramatic and exciting dream. Sadly I was awoken suddenly so I only really remember the final scene- I want to type it down before I forget that, too. Basically, it was some fantasy-medieval setting, and earlier on there had been all sorts of drama, betrayal and adventuring on my part-- at one point I'd had some magical sort of ring, until that had been forcibly taken from me.
Somehow I'd managed to get my hands on the other artefact me and my fellow adventurers had found, I don't remember how or who they were or anything, but it was a bright red-coloured sword, with a hilt guard and the magical ability to cut through just about anything with ease.

I was down in some deep, subterranean... place. From what I remember it was somewhere I'd adventured to before, and I wanted to try using my magic sword to bust open some super-tough-well-made containers/chests to get the loot inside.
Not sure why that didn't work out, I think the chests had been taken by the same person who betrayed me earlier in the dream, not sure. Either way I was in a bad mood after making my way down here, and I had my sword.

This place was kinda dim and creepy, but it was lit well enough, furnished, and there were fancy tablecloths on a few big, wooden dining tables. I'm not sure where the heck it was or anything.

Anyway, I was just considering my next room when I heard someone approaching from down a hallway, of two entrances this was not the one I'd come in through. Even as I dived down to hide between the tables, with the long, persian-rug-patterned tablecloths hanging either side of me, I knew who it was- the King and his entourage.
Not sure quite what my relationship with this King was, but I didn't like him. He might have been responsible for the magical ring I lost earlier.

Anyway, a plan quickly occurred to me. While they were down here, and I had the sword, I would take his daughter hostage and demand all sorts of stuff. She was actually one of the first people to come into the dining hall, in fact; she pressed past the king's guards and wandered in to take a look around-- I guess she was one of those cliche 'hot-headed rebellious princess' types.
Then she glanced between the tables and spotted me, with more amusement than fear, and called out, "Oh, there's someone in here!"

That forced my hand, I jumped up dramatically, somehow flipped the tables either side of me with a shove of my hands, and grabbed her, placing the enchanted sword of holyshitmagicaldestruction across her throat before the king's guards could reach me.

I cannot remember the exact dialogue, basically I told them all to stay back or the princess would die. The king was rather irritated, having for some reason brought a bunch of his family and friends down here for, as far as I could tell, a picnic. In a dungeon. :o I hadn't quite thought of my demands yet, so I just continued holding them at bay as I tried to decide just what insanely valuable, magical thingies I should demand to get my full money's worth.

I pointed my sword at the king, who had sat down in a chair to one side of the dining table, and told him that I hadn't quite decide what my demands were, yet-- go on and start eating his food, which the serving staff had already began to set out.
(It involved crackers and chicken, for some reason)

So, everyone started eating, as I held the (more excited than scared) princess hostage. Oh and at some point I stabbed one of the kitchen maids around the corner with my sword for annoying me somehow, disappointingly I couldn't see her and she survived.
The other thing I remember was one of the guests- apparently a RL friend of mine was part of the King's entourage, and he was depressingly genre-savvy and treated the whole thing as a bit of a joke.
(I'm not sure if he'd been a friend of mine in the dream, or if I even knew him.)

He kept laughing with utter confusion at the whole strange scene, shaking his head and saying, "I haven't read this far in the book yet, I have no idea what's going on," or something to that effect. He was starting to annoy me, I think I had an argument with that serving maid I stabbed, keeping the princess at arm's length, and somewhere around there I was suddenly woken up, which was quite annoying. :-/

I was a female. Dirty blonde hair and triangular face.

As said female, I enlisted into the 'Corps' which was some infantry unit, and my mind began to troll me because everyone else had 'Academy Training' and I had not, so I couldn't do simplest things properly whilst others did it efficiently and quickly. I couldn't even get the shoelaces and my cuffs right, which made the redhead corporal yell and berate me.

Then the field training began... we started with simulated bombing attack at our compound so we had to flee into the neighbouring woods. Then we had to deal with camouflage making, reconnaissance and some shooting too as 'enemy soldiers' began to probe the woods to find our positions.

Then there was a propaganda message from Catherine the Great or some other wicked queen that vowed to hunt us down and end our miserable lives. The broadcasting screen was floating above our military compound.

After that, we finished the field training and went back into barracks for a dinner, which consisted of broad-beans-and-cheese soup plus a cup of cold coffee.

That's where I woke up.

So to follow up on the WTF thread.
I don't remember most of it, I just recall I was walking through some neighborhood and had to get somewhere. There was a woman talking to somebody else on the other side of a tall wooden fence, and I heard her mention there had been six muggings already. Anyway I kept going though these back paths because I was in a hurry. I think I was going to a school of some sort? Not sure, but somebody was there waiting for me. Anyway it was all very suburban and pretty much midday so very bright.
The bit I remember most vividly was taking this cement path between two houses with grass strips either side, and a guy was coming the other way. He had shortish brown hair, and a navy blue and white horizontal striped shirt. Being kind of freaked the fuck out from hearing about these muggings, I tried to walk around on the grass and give him a wide gap, but when he saw this he pulled out a scalpel and demanded my wallet. Before I could do anything he walked towards me and stabbed be in the throat.
Then I just remember a lot of trying to talk and choking, and that is about it.

I know something happened before all this, I just can't remember what it was at all.

I hate my dreams...

As corny as this sounds, I had a dream where I mixed up Assassin's Creed and Glee.

It was an exceedingly violent dream, where there was this crazy jerk guy ( whose face I can't really recall, only that his head was shaved ) who kept beating everybody up.  Then out of nowhere, Will Schuester comes out with a hidden blade. A lot of the dialogue in the dream ( which I can't really remember ) really also reminded of the video game dialogue.

Not the most earth shattering or soul searchy of my dreams.  But when I woke up, it really made me go WTF.

Awhile ago, I had a dream where I was driving my car down a highway towards a mall.  I had to make a right turn to get into the mall parking lot but for some reason my car slid during the turn and I crashed.  Not sure where it came from but when I crashed the car, a pole of some sort flew straight through the front car window and impaled my neck which made me start bleeding and coughing up blood all over the place.

When i was a kid i had a fear of clowns, another fear i had was chainsaws (still can't stand that noise). One night after playing too much medal of honor, when i was about 8 or 9 i had a dream set in WW2 where at one point i for some reason had to go through a hallway of chainsaw wielding inflatable clowns that would kill me if i got close. Sure enough i set one off and got killed in a sufficiently bloody manner with a chainsaw before waking up. It wasn't fun.

Mine are typically only violent when I'm depressed about something, and typically involve me getting hurt/killed as a direct result of that something. The rest of the time they're pretty nonsensical.

Today I had a dream about new version off Df suddenly coming out (and being called "Version 9" for some reason) and I couldn't get it because I was (and still am) using my phone.

Imagine my surprise when I woke up.

I think I had a similar dream once, a long while back, but with Nethack.
