There's a dream from the weekend that I wrote down (and analysed) but still haven't remembered to bring anywhere near this computer.
But last night (amongst other things) I dreamt I was (or perhaps I was observing, re: my usual 'participation fluidity') an alternate version of Buffy[1], in an alternate universe in which zombies were the "big bad", and vampires existed, but were nominally everyday people (in fact, I don't think they even had daylight 'issues'). There'd only just been a "28 Days Later" sort of event (maybe as little as 28 hours ago), and humanity (in my little bit of the world) was recovering. Buildings were in a state of disrepair (from damage, not neglect) and upper-floor places were favoured as hang-out places, like the little café I/Buffy camped out in. When people fell off roofs they basically jumped back up as zombies. This was a big deal for the (re-)construction industry, as Health & Safety appeared to have actually declined quite severely. (And everyone seemed to like watching the cranes and demolition machines and unsecured workers at work, and then all panicked as soon as they saw someone fall to their deaths, still in their high-vis vests.)
Also, with people tending to occupy upper-floor places with missing windows or structural damage to the buildings there were a number of "someone falling past the window" incidents. You know, like that Monty Python sketch where the two office-workers casually assess who it is who has just fallen past and start to bet on who will be next.
And then the 'vampire' faction decided they didn't like Buffy for obscure (non-VampireSlaying) reasons and started chasing her (and/or me) all over the place, necessitating clambering out of windows and into others, abseiling (while other people who had also decided to take up abseiling but preferred not to actually tie themselves to the ropes in any way, were occasionally falling to their undeaths) and generally evading.
I started phasing in and out of the dream at a point where I/Buffy was running around a theatre(/cinema), up into the projecting box and down out via another entrance and round and back up and nearly into the underground rail system beneath the theatre(!) and it's weird architecture, but I didn't go there. Due to the intervening bouts of semi-consciousness I think I could have grasped the nettle and made this dream actually lucid, but it appears I couldn't be bothered (either in dream-state or near-waking state) to press the issue. I think Buffy/I persuaded the vampires to stop the chasing around, but that was about all that changed. And then I fully woke up.
[1] Not SMG, or even the filmic Buffy. Sort of like as akin to the televisual Buffy as the original (pilot episode) Willow was to the eventual series-Willow. Which probably only makes sense to me and my internal dreamstate. Character-wise, this Buffy had come from a 'normal' (non-BtVS) universe where she was a normal person and had been sent to this other non-normal one by way of a teleport-type thing. Which made sense at the time, and then got submerged by what came later so that it was largely irrelevant to the 'plot', or even discounted insofar as any form of continuity.
