I was beta-testing a new robot body from Google (as in, replacement body, brain transfer I guess).  It looked like the ones from I Robot, but with Android architecture supporting a bunch of cool sensor apps.  Like, I could have coded apps for it, eventually.

It felt really right, and I mentioned wanting to keep it.  My family didn't like that, insisted it was just a phase.  Oof, heavy-handed...

I ended up sitting with them in a church, where the pastor kept making "Alexa" jokes.  At least everyone was being polite about it- well, superficially.  I just felt too tired to challenge them, or even do anything, and eventually I just slumped over in the pew.

It was honestly one of the more inspiring dreams I've had, because it didn't have to end that way.

I invented a new game, last night. It was like a (top-down) platformer where a thing (initially a cat, as it started, but each time it became more like a 'lunar lander' spaceship on the way down) was allowed to be pushed side-to-side by conveyor belt 'levels', and other such things, falling off the end and falling to the level below. Along the way, there were "collectables" of the usual platform-game coins/bonus/fuel sort of thing. Each token allowed a 'shove' of the... cat-spaceship thing, in its onward journey. The first tokens were essentially 'freebies', acquired by passively passing across them (in cat form!), but later tokens needed to be gained by a vertical shove (a 'jump') or well-timed sideways shoves (quickener/slowener) when propelled off a ramp.

The ends of each level start to not always land you onto the reversingly moving next level, but two or more shoves-worth of nudgability (gained by well-timed and wisely implemented use of a prior gained shove-token's power to grab multiple proximate shove-tokens in one mid-level leap of faith) were needed to halt the sideways travel off the one end and start the opposite sideways journey onto the next level's end. Or you could shove-shove faster and higher onto a tantilisingly off-screen conveyor that only repeated play and experimentation would reveal (as an alternative way past a token 'desert' and/or a shovefully-needed 'sink', either way to effectively eat up your prior reserve of shove-tokens and leave you helpless and unable to proceed).

I played it a lot, in the dream.

It even seems like something that could be a rather addictive game, if done right¹. PM me if you need to find out how to send me my royalties!

¹ I'm not saying it has to be a cat/spaceship/cat-spaceship. I make no such restrictions to my claim that I own a reasonable share of this game idea, when subsequently developed into a final product devoid of (specifically) cats and/or spaceships.

During a loud crowded party at a home I lived at as a kid, a family member burned their hands on my soup pot while insisting on helping, and ignoring me.  It was extremely humiliating, also horrifying, and I lost my temper.

I stamped out the front door and into a cold, moonlit night.  Moving my legs was helping, as always.  The eerie chill did too, by being distractingly wrong.  But the peace was broken by a pack of wolves at the top of the driveway, who saw me and howled.  Was this real?  I considered transforming to a wolf myself, but decided to run back to the door.  They were fast but I hadn't gotten far yet.  I fumbled opening the door, but just managed to slip inside before they could get me.  RL present-day doggo was there inside, asking to be let out, but slowly reconsidering as he observed the wild pack sniffing at the opening.

I was annoyed with their arrogance, and still angry.  I tried to smack one in the face with the door.  Predictably, it managed to worm its head in, and started forcing the door wider despite my best efforts.  I called to the other room with increasing urgency, but they wouldn't make it in time.  If they even heard me.  Maybe this was better than needing their help, I thought, as I became a wolf and prepared to fight.

Woke up with the predawn birds again, great...
Edit:  Heh, I get it now!  I've been watching too much Z Nation recently.  Fast zombies as a pack of wolves, interesting.

Had a dream that my house was being attacked. My wife and infant son in particular. I somehow frightened the scouts off, for long enough for a single police officer to arrive. He took one end of the house, and I crouched under the deck, hidden behind a trash can with an M14 and pistol. (Fuck my dreams sound awesome and vastly less terrifying after the fact)

The group of, presumably, methhead criminals arrived in four vans, two at each end of the house. I waited til the group of four assailants got to the stairs I was under, then killed them all with well placed shots from the rifle. I heard a yell from behind me, and raced to the cop's position. He was dead, and the windows smashed open. I charged into my house, finding a couple of scum in the living room. I bayonetted the closest, twisting him into line with the other. Then I shot his friend through his corpse.

I moved into the bedroom, pistol out. A man had my son in his arm, my wife in front of both of them. Two human shields, one an infant. My son was crying, and I didn't hesitate.

I aimed like I do IRL, along the gap of the slide and receiver, and fired. It was a headshot. I dived to grab my son and my wife snatched my gun up and unloaded the remaining rounds into the last assailant, who had emerged from the closet.

Fuck that dream.

Had a bizarre and chaotic dream that ended way too soon.

I was transporting two passengers with my boat and escorted them to their destination, which at times required me to intidimate some thugs. Once the passengers safely arrived at their destination, I was offered a different job, to steal something from a nearby school, I along with two of my crewmen headed for the school and entered it.

The school had inbuilt dorms that I had to traverse through to get to the storage area, inside the storage area I found two tablets containing promotional videos for a fitness group. On the way back, the students in the dorm woke up while I was inside the dorm and I soon found myself in a classroom along with the other students. I was challenged to finish reading a book earlier than someone else, whereas I eagerly started to read the book, my competitor decided that she preferred to do other things, like drilling a screwdriver into an electrical socket.

Sometime later, the Inquisitor arrived, rearranged seats and restored order. I soon realized that we were all dead, that our souls have been captured and that we were about to be sacrificed. The main sacrifice was someone who had a bright glowing red mark in the shape of a crystal above their head, as he was about to be sacrificed, his deity intervened and attacked the Inquisitor with its claws, distracting him and damaging the floor.

While the Inquisitor and the deity clashed with each other, I decided to flee and ended up outside the building, all by myself. Upon closer inspection of the tablets that I stole earlier, I found out that they were actually nukes, and then the dream ended.

Apparently I have better dreams when I sleep more.

Last night: furry apocalypse with weird gadgets made using small colored spheres.

Beam pistols should never be that useless.

I don't remember any of the other details, but it involved a sniper who was somehow dangerous despite being blind. And deaf.

Had a Bay12-themed dream last night.
The last few people that had posted in one of the emotion threads were suddenly traveling together in a van, road-tripping across someplace - I knew it as Europe, possibly Norway, but roads had right-hand traffic so who knows - and seemingly partying it up on the way.

That Wer6 guy (whatever happened to them?) appeared - apparently people could teleport in at different times, or maybe we stopped to pick the dream up, or maybe dream brain was just summoning who it pleased whenever it pleased - and complained of being out of coke.
Dwarfy directed him to the driver's compartment (the vehicle seemed to have some rather truck or limo-like qualities despite definitely looking like a van) and so he climbed through, past whoever was in the front and grabbed some more out of one of the door pockets. Someone, I think the person in the passenger seat, warned  him to be surreptitious, since we really didn't want to get pulled over and screw up whatever purpose this road trip was in aid of. Probably something to do with Kagus, considering I think we were supposedly in or on-route to Norway.

A little while later someone had the bright idea of smoking up in the back, but fortunately the driver was able to section off the front compartment at the touch of a button, like some kinda limousine. I'm sure it would have been one heck of a hot-box in the back, but unfortunately at that point I woke up - and I don't think I was physically present, anyway, but rather some disembodied observer.

Hopefully that all makes sense, I typed it quickly because I have to sleep all over again right now. Good night Bay12. Hopefully I remember more of my dreams tonight.

I had a pretty bad ass dream last night. I, and the various ill defined people around me, we're in slightly fascist looking military uniforms. The whole SS trenchcoat look, but army green.

Anyways, it was the middle of a blizzard with maybe 2 feet visibility and I was directed over to a thing in front of a big metal garage door thing seemingly set out in the middle of the storm. After a while of hunkering down in the snow an officer came over and we went through the door.

About this time I realized that the guy next to me was an old friend I haven't seen since High school, and the officer was my dad.

We went through the metal door/wall thing and I killed a huge wolf that was wrapped in chains by clubbing it with rifle until the chains broke.
When it died it spat out a bunch of grenades and shit and we ran and dove into the snow.

After that we were just checking to see if we got hit by shrapnel. My friend had a huge chunk stuck in his jaw and I had to stop him from pulling out it. I had a few bits that hit my back but just missed my spine. We just sorta walked off after that and I woke up.

Had a lucid dream last night.

The weird thing being I was just floating in this pure white void. That doesn't happen in my dreams, period. Ever. There's always something I'm dreaming of, usually some kind of complex or house or mansion or whatever. But a white void? With absolutely nothing in it?

What the heck, brain. On top of that, I was lucid within the white void. But the moment the void goes?

Poof. Now I'm playing(and losing) this weird video game about dodging a horde of animals who want to turn you into one of them. Lucidity gone.

GG Allin was a literal CHUD.
There was a bunch of other stuff I don't really remember, probably involving other types of mutants and/or monsters, but I just thought that was really fitting.

I had inspiration last night.  Woke up far too early, having had a dream which I related in text on the Writer's Apprenticeship thread. It was nice to have inspiration, because it hasn't struck in quite a while.  I think I also had a deja vu in my sleep, but I can't remember it well enough to write it down in my deja vu diary.

I agree with Urist. Steampunk is like Darth Vader winning Holland's Next Top Model. It would be awesome but not something I'd like in this game.

Dreamed I was bane, tricked into landing a big plane in some frozen world where polar bears kept trying to eat me. I only survived by climbing to the top of a radio tower, kicking them in the face, but there was an unnatural quantity of polar bears interested in eating my foot in the general area.
