Man, I had some weird sort of almost-normal dream last night, and I'd pretty much forgotten about it until it tried to sneak into my real memories and I went, "Hang on, did that really happen?" And then had a somewhat creepy moment when I realised that only happened in a dream. :o

The scary thing is, I went for years fully believing a couple of dreams I had as a small child were actually real.
And one of those involved talking to the recently deceased through an upside-down looking glass. Yeah. I spent a good part of my life thinking that was a thing people could do. Now I'm wondering how many of my memories are actually things I've dreamt... although I'm pretty sure I'd catch myself if I started mistaking dreams for reality.
Right?

...Right?

Because if you're doing napping properly, you start and wake in the REM phase and REM is when you dream, so you get dreams and then remember them well.

I think.

I was on a trip to st Louis with my friend and a girl who was switching from my sister to another person, we got to a stadium and went in but nothing was happening there that day, so we left at high speeds out of the city but we decided to go back, when we got into the city via the highway my friend was in the back seat with us I panicked and pointed this out, he calmly got in the front seat on the passenger side and was driving it with a valve.

I was now driving through a town by myself and couldn't stop I kept going and I kept pushing on the brakes harder and harder, I was eventually able to stop once i went off the road into a ditch. A police officer came over and asked me about what just happened, I explained the situation.

I was now watching/a part of some weird movie and towards the end a group of people were bouncing my sleeping/dead mother up and down for they were celebrating her for some reason, then everything went horribly wrong, I don't know how or why, it just did. I was looking around my house and looked in my mom's room and I saw that she had turned into a zombie, so I gathered up my 3 friends who were for some reason in my house and dressed up as a creeper, a zombie and another thing.

We quickly and quietly left the building and went on a trip to find a new home since my house was inhabited by zombie mum. The dream then switched to me in a shower at my house, after drying off and putting my clothes on I suddenly realize, "My mom is a zombie and she's in the house!" so  I went downstairs and was about to exit when I saw her heavily decomposed and shaking, I ran past her to the outside and realized that this was a dream, she was chasing after me slowly and I woke myself up...or so I thought.

I was now in bed at a motel/hotel/church/thing and I heard music, it was the dwarf fortress theme played on the piano. I went over and saw a woman playing the piano I slowly lowered myself upside down and talked to her and tried not to be creepy, We talked a bit and she walked as I floated, We got friendly and she wanted to be extra friendly. I said sure, and as I floated by her my mom came out of nowhere (living not zombie) I said "Don't worry I'll handle this. After almost getting extra friendly I teleported away and was in my room alone, I talked with her more for awhile and I realized once more that this was just a dream, I told her this and she said "Maybe were both dreaming and were just in the same dream." I knew that was idiotic and far from true, once again I thought I woke up.

this part is a bit hazy.
I was now laying on the grass and got up and went inside, I think I told my mom about something about my dream and asked why I was in the grass. I picked up a weird looking slice of pizza and ate it. I got into the shower dozed off while standing up. something else happened during my shower nap but I'm not sure what exactly. My mo, woke me from my shower nap and told me to stop falling asleep, Some other stuff happened and I finally woke up for real.

There was a part with a gym and a big dinner happening but I'm not sure what happened.

I can't remember most of my dream, except that I lived next door to a bunch of cool girls, one of whom was named Janet (I think coincidentally, although they did look a little bit like Tenryuu). For some reason, they 'kidnapped' me, but in a really low-security fashion, so when I anted to leave I just walked out. At some point, I ended up losing track of the time whilst using my laptop at their house.

The house was very small, with a living room/bedroom and a kitchen, but it also had a postage stamp of garden in the front and a swimming pool in the back. For some reason, water from the swimming pool was special. The wall in front of their garden was only about a meter high, and was mostly wrought iron.

At some point, magic got involved, and I think we had to go rescue a mutual (male) friend. I was wondering about what weapon to take, but settled for the wooden dagger on my dresser (I have one IRL), because it was convenient and 'magic' would make it useful.

I can't remember what happened next. It's all very patchy.

@Nomoetoe: Haha, that was... interesting! :P
That was even more wildly disjointed than the average dreams I have.
Pretty sure I had some dreams earlier, but I can't remember anything except for one bit where I bumped into someone I knew from years ago and chatted to him for a while. That's literally all I remember about it.

Dreams of DF2014 continue...ish.

This one I remember being about Toady posting two relatively short (compared to the newest one) devblogs, the latter of which was about him "trying to solve a bug related to human soldiers". He said that he was "commenting the buggy part of the code" and that when he was done with it, the bug magically disappeared. :P
Little logic, I know.

Then there was that part about me and my friends riding a bus to where our current school is, and one of them was talking about shields (I think this was related to modding of some game, maybe or maybe not Awesomenauts :V). After that we were on a weird-looking playing field with all my old classmates and we were apparently meant to take some sort of test here (which was related to IT or something...weirdly enough) but first we were having your typical football-related PE stuff. But apparently I then crouched holding the ball, but couldn't stand back up. It usually happens in my dreams when sports are involved. I just couldn't get myself to stand back up, it's like my dream was bugging out, so I was just forced to wake up as to not bore myself to dream death trying to get my legs in an upright position.

It was weird, and I lost count of DF-related dreams at this point, but hopefully this is the last one. :P

Dreamt I was walking around the lake when I noticed a flock of ducks, nice ones. I saw one and singled it out; it flew to me and rested on my outstretched arm. Its wings were comically small and its body plump and fat, it was a female judging by the brown plumage. Happy with this new follower I walked home, and ate dinner, incredibly annoyed at the neighbour's car alarm which would not stop blaring.

I woke up to the sound of my neighbour's car alarm.

And with a duck squatting on your face.
And not a brick in sight; only bread, fields and fields of beautiful loaves as far as the duck can quack.

I don't remember the first part of the dream, but I remember following this giraffe as it outran alligators, and swam through lakes, and then it reached this larger body of water, with a bridge to it.
Rather than taking the bridge, it kept swimming, and I kept following it, then I decided to go ahead and swim ahead of it to check out the new island.
Not sure where I was at, but I seemed to know the name of the place (don't remember now, I think it sounded Asian?) and started walking around.
After a bit, I went into this building where all the restroom stalls weren't even in the bathroom, they were just there, along the side of the walkway, and the doors weren't even large enough for most of them, so they had no privacy. Also there were arcade machines right next to them, like this was totally normal. There was even one machine where some guy was playing a basketball game thing, and kept throwing basketballs all over the place, and into the stalls.
Then this black-haired girl walked up to me and asked me if I had any spare pence (which is odd, because I'm not British) and I checked my pockets and found that they were empty, so I said that I probably meant to grab my wallet before leaving home (I don't remember if I was ever at home, as it must have been earlier in the dream).
She then started hitting on me, and when I mentioned I had a wife, she laughed wildly and ran away. At this point, I was in full "WTF?" and so started trying to find my way out of there.
I found this weird garage with more bathroom stalls in it, and every time I left it to find I different way out, I'd keep ending up back in it.

I don't remember much after this, and then I woke up, and starting thinking about the giraffe, and wondered where it went.

Had a dream where I worked for burger king again (I left there 11 years ago).  I would go in to work and my old boss would be there in the office and fire me when I went to my locker.   I distinctly remember it happening twice pretty much the same way both times.  But woke up with the feeling that it replayed far more times than that.

There's gotta be some hidden meaning in that, but I don't know what it was.  I was never fired from BK, hell, BK was the only job I ever had where I had spotless job performance.  They wanted me to become a manager.
