Ah, so it's not just me who can't be told about. ;)

Anyway, how about "Write us a book about a distant land, to add to our library"?  Needs book authoring (by player) to be possible, and either a visit to said land for inspiration or intensive research in another collection of books/talking to others who have been there.  Or "just make it up"?

My daughter's birthday is next week and I don't have anything for a present! I need you to get a pet for her!

Can you kick that guy for me? He's really a jerk.

I'll give you a copper if you eat this bug.

I have a forma...please stop killing elves when I ask you to file paperwork about them.

Can you run down to the market and pick up some badger liver for me?

[...] Can you run down to the market and pick up some badger liver for me?

Why not delve a bit deeper into dwarven high cuisine? Mixing some ingredients, given their own properties (are they salty? do they enhance fat?), could lead to better or worse recipes.

Cleaning the hamlet's water cistern or the sewers.

Prospecting minerals and soils for a future settlement to be built.

Drive people to assist to a regional fair held on a bustling hamlet that just found a vein of valuable minerals below and are willing to trade.

Help the local animal dissector to find rare bugs (and even their giant counterparts) in uncharted territories so he can write a book about it.

Be the jailkeeper: feeding prisoners that are inside the dungeon while not letting them escape, subduing them with (the forthcoming) non-violent combat.

However, I hope these aren't fixed 'quests' as they're being suggested, but more like scenarios where you can choose how to proceed and get different outcomes depending of what you do. For example, in the 'regional fair' case you can also not help them, giving false information to whoever wants to go, getting your henchmen to put tolls in roads so that caravans cannot pass, and then driving the town to misery and obscurity. Allowing your own prisoners to escape, a fast allegiance change, putting a random syndrome or boon in the water source...

Well, I don't know, but as someone already mentioned, a lot of these are already Power Goals.

Prospecting minerals and guarding jails isn't very ludicrously mundane, which I thought was the idea.

Can you babysit my kids for an hour or so? Than...um, please put down the axe.
Can you deliver this letter to Ostilith Pinkhearted? And be quiet about it. Please don't read the letter!
Hold this bin for me while I go inside the tavern and grab a drink for the road.
Alright, you wanna challenge? Drink a mug of Nguxlo's Nightcap and stay standing.

If you say so.

"Hey, adventure guy! Can you convince my kid not to go on adventures? Tell him what it's really like."
"Sure this, sir."
(kid and adventurer chat)
"Erm, where are you taking my son?"
"Huh? Oh, it looks like he's following me for some reason. Goodbye!"
"WHAT DID YOU TELL HIM?!?"

"Run between the forge and the stockpile. Toss me metal and fuel. No, not lit--"
The Metalsmith has been shot and killed.

"Grab some sand and stick it in this bag."
"I'll tell you where I'll stick it..."

"Say, sonny, would you be a dear and help me across the street?"
You grab the Elder by the upper body with your right hand.
You throw the Elder.
The elder's leg skids across the ground, shattering the bone!
The horse tramples the elder in the head, shattering the skull and tearing the brain!
The elder has been trampled to death.
"...I'm not good at this."

"These adventurers keep bugging me. Send them on stupid little quests before someone defenestrates me."
"Defenestrate you? Okay!""AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA...." splat
"Did I mishear you?...Okay, who wants to hold a bin while I get a drink?"

Spoiler: Long Quest Scenario (click to show/hide)

This isn't really mundane but maybe if your fame is high enough, the local lords will have some princesses/relatives that need saving from some towers/shrines/caves.

Back to the mundane, maybe while walking the street you find a dwarf/something bleeding out in an ally, the poor man/woman needs you to deliver a letter to their next of kin alerting them of their fate. Maybe they have a family they left behind halfway across the world(Should only be given by migrants/foreigners). I not sure if that's mundane, but I'm just trying to think of events that don't necessitate combat to finish while still being exciting.

Maybe, barkeeps will knock a little off your tab if you find a way to get rid of some rowdy guests?
Maybe you could flash your sword, maybe slip something unsavory into their drink(a use for the buckets of venom shops sell), or you release their horses and let the guard deal with em.

"Hey, swordlver, you're running up quite a tab. I'll cut it in half if you deal with those noisy drunkards."
(sounds of slashing and people drinking harder)
"...That was a little overkill."
"You sed tha' if I cut'm in half, you'deal w' my tab..."
"Note to self: Wait for sobriety before dealing with adventut=rers."

I like the escort stuff - it can be combined with prospecting for a new settlement site, finding animals, going hunting etc.

Has anyone suggested spying yet?

Sadly kobolds can't talk. At least it cuts down on the DF specific fanfics.

I love most of these. The cooking is planned (probably near 1.0 though) but it doesn't seem to hard to give some basic affinities to each food and have them work well with each other. Better cooks would know all the recipes of a civilization, but as an adventurer you could come up with more and add to the knowledge of the civ, for better or worse.

I really like your idea about prospecting an area for future settlement, because quests like that (while mundane) can actually produce some sort of effect on the world. Maybe the nearby human town will decide to set up a strip mine there, smiths and forge workers then flock to the town and 30 years later it makes the best weapons second to dwarven steel, all because of the work of the (more than likely long dead) Urist McAdventurer.

... On the artwork is an image of the legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein and a gopher in Giant Cave Spider Silk.  The gopher is laughing.  The legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein is missing his left upper arm.  The legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein is missing his left lower arm.  The legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein is missing his right foot.  The legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein is missing his spleen.  The legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein is cowering.  The artwork relates to the slaying of the legendary prospector Lordim CanSmellAVein in the late Spring of 877 in the Meadows of Nothing Really Bad Happens Here, Usually, by a gopher.

Great ideas, and mundane quests fit the nature of the game pretty well. In a combat oriented game, its fun to take a change of pace and play as a frail peasant with nothing but social skills, to whom muggers aren't a challenge to overcome but a danger to avoid.

Sabotaging deals/testimonies/social gatherings is always great fun! Think of the consequences when guests arrive to the barons mansion, only to find that the baron has mysteriously lost his pants, all drinks taste like vomit and the guests horses get stolen from the stable.
