Yeah... another "minor expidenture, then invest" fellow. I'd get a decent computer, and maybe fix up my car. Spend a little fixing up the houses the immediate family owns, general maintainence stuff like that. Doubtful it'd eat up more than 100k (probably much less; maybe 20, 30k depending on how home maintainence falls through).

The rest I'd find someone competent to manage, and tell them they get 10-25% of any profit they can get out of it. Ultimate goal would be a series of trust funds, providing basic amenities (sufficient but unimpressive housing, staple but not fancy food, small stipend for clothing, health, and transportation) for my family and their descendants, with the intent of setting up something self-sustaining and having a little mini-socialism-in-perpetuity set up for my blood kin. Fuck the rat race.

A bit would also be set up in a similar perpetual system for the purpose of donations, primarily to education. Most of it would be slated for philosophy programs, especially for lower education and rural areas. Meta-education -- learning to learn, learning to think, learning what forms the basis of other things you learn -- is something that needs some more cash and effort invested in it. Standard bit of scholarships for the poor but capable, of course.

Millions in winnings? Invest another million in lottery tickets for a different lottery until the main one comes back to a reasonable price, and keep the rest to yourself.

Lather, rinse, and repeat until you can buy your way out of trouble, and then troll the other rich guys.

Additionally, I see no problems living like the Beverly Hillbillies in a rich community.
...TV show, that is. Luxury life, lower-class living style.

Otherwise, besides being an oddball, I would otherwise not really change my life besides buying the family house, helping everyone else in my family financially, and then close friends, and then locking up my funds in a pocket-reality safe. I'll even pay the local eldritch abomination a decent fee for protecting my money and it's income.

As soon as I get enough money I'm buying 50 acres in the middle of the forest somewhere in British Columbia to build a yurt on and then I'll live like a hermit doing whatever the heck I want.  Also I'll get 2 dogs and goat.

That is my wealth plan.

Assuming 10 million dollars.

Would buy a house, nothing too expensive, no overly big rooms, no gold everywhere, just normal house, normal rooms, but one recording studio room, one monitoring room, one reherseal room. Get good gear for studio, etc. Would get the music gear i dream of, and stuff.
Would get durable car, give my parents 1m dollars to help them. Buy all music CDs i want.
Then i could sit on my ass and record stuff, have fun, listen to music.
The best part is having 8 millions left and not having to work, having whole life of free time, so you can travel the world, enjoy life more etc.

If I found myself with a winning lottery ticket, worth millions or hundreds of millions, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be tempted to make some big announcement about it, then destroy it on live TV or something. Partly because I've grown to hate the various monetary systems of the world, and embracing them only because they began to work in my favor would fill me with a deep sense of hypocrisy the likes of which I could never cleanse myself of, and partly because it would be immensely entertaining to know how many people I'd be pissing off by doing so.

Just think about it, and I'm being completely serious here:

Getting that big-ass check handed to you in front of a crowd of people and cameras, and while everyone is clapping and there's confetti and streamers flying all over the place, happily pulling out a lighter and just setting the thing on fire. The look of shock and disbelief on everyone's face, and knowing how many people will be pulling their hair out when they hear about the apparently completely idiotic thing you just did...I honestly don't think any amount of money could buy me the enjoyment that I'd get from being immersed in that one moment.

Other than that, I'd probably...I don't know, hire a bunch of personal tutors to teach me about various things I'm interested in. I'd also want to put all the money into piggy banks. Whenever I planned to go out and buy something, I'd put a bunch of them into a big burlap sack, and had to pay for something, I'd pull out a piggy bank or two and tell them to keep the change.

That sounds surprisingly similar to my "last years of life" plan, assuming my lifespan isn't cut short and I manage to accomplish everything I want to.
