Goings onTwo Human farms, one Dwarven iron mine, and two Unicorn Pens destroyed by the Golden Dragon. Fle'k Mreth crushes the puny Human militia at N-19.
The huge colony of Kobolds that had been living in the Golden Dragon's mountainhall for several weeks had finally received their orders, straight from GruGru Rak. Along with the message, they received a wooden package containing a single steel dagger. Several attempts were made at both the Dragon's life and his hoard, but in the end all of the rats failed. The Dragon had regained his strenght; in fact he was now more powerful than he had ever been. Massive piles of food, prisoners more food, and heaps of value commodities. He even had stolen a huge nugget of raw Mithril, which he painstakingly studded his crown/nose ring with. This was another possession that he would die defending from those creeping monsters. He cursed them daily, but not anymore out of frustration. He was no longer tormented by them, but he remembered the time when he was, and he strongly wanted revenge. Meanwhile, the Kobold chief spit with frustration into the open mouth of the Volcano of Anguish after receiving news of this failure. He called for an assembly of Kobolds from all of the colonies across the world, to be held outside his court-cave. After the costly and time-consuming effort it took to bring the Kobolds together, instead of an inspiring speech, all the citizens heard was a never-ending chastisement by their leader. At the end of the assembly Grek, still visibly teaming with anger, grabbed a Kobold child (the daughter of a dead thief and his widow) from the crowed and brutally ravaged her with his fists and teeth. After the horrible incident, Grek threw the body into the trash heap. He declared that there would be more of that if his men continued to fail before turning and marching back to his throne.
In the Freaquestian Gulf, the Human makeshift navy fought valiantly and tactically against the Kobolds. Despite their ancient sailing techniques, the Kobold stealth canoes were all vanquished by a fleet of half-sunken hole-ridden bowls of driftwood, also known as Human ships. Despite their severe technological disadvantage, these were the Humans' waters, and the former fishermen who piloted the war vessels knew them well. In addition to their tactical knowledge, the navy may have fought better because of Matilda the Red's uncharacteristic new policy of actually rewarding and supporting veterans. Any who fought for the glory and prosperity of the state in the rat-like face of adversity would receive actual medical treatment (the best the Humans could muster) for their wounds as well as well as government funded retirement. While most of the soldiers were simply happy with this change and did not question Matilda's sudden change of heart, some were skeptical. Something was certainly up, but this did not stop the skeptics from fighting their hardest in battle to receive Matilda's shady rewards.
