1 new kobold cave at V-57. [1/5]
2 kobolds breed. [3/5]
2 kobolds rob the Dragon. [5/5]

The 5 armies stealth move (without attacking!) onto T-59 and start stealing food to be loaded into little dolphin leather sacks.

7 tiles were adjacent and required 1 population. 4 tiles were at one remove and required 2 (namely the ones at longitude 20). 7+4=11 , and 7+4*2=15 . The ones you missed were M-22,23.
My turn will assume you fix that.

12 work farms/fisheries
15 claim D-40 T-35 F-20,21 L-19 N-21,22,23 O-20,21 P,Q-19
12 build preserves
1 builds town
6 work towns
10 research Steel Smelting
5 research Charcoal Burning
1 researches Mithril Smelting

Work villages [4/26]
Work Farms/Fishery [9/26]
Claim L,M,N-3, K-4/5, J-4, G-9 and E-10 [20/26] How many will this take? Tell me if I am wrong.
Build Elf Village at F-12 and E-10 [22/26]
Build Nature Preserve at G-9 [23/26]
build Fishery at K-4/5 and J-7 [26/26]

Edit: Hold on I gotta change those Claims. [Done]
Edit2: Did I get those claims right? I added one pop for every tile away it was. So M takes 2 pop and N takes 3? Is that right?

It costs p=0.5d[d+1] populations to claim a tile d tiles away. 1 population for 1 tile away, 3 for 2 tiles away, 6 for 3 tiles away, 10 for 4 tiles away, 15, 21, 28, and so on and so forth.

I looked back at the original post, and realized i couldn't find specific rules for tile claiming at a distance. I guess I had assumed the formula was p=d. Where do you get your figures Grek?

If I've allowed anyone to claimed territory by the Grek formula it was by accident. Ship of Freaks's assumption is correct and that's how the cost of his acquired territory of more than 1 removed from adjacent to his borders has been calculated. Also Terra, once again the Elves are derping it up. To claim those tiles would cost you 17 Population, not 11.

The 1, 3, 6, 10 rule was the one quoted to me by the GM (see post #123) when I asked. The formula was derived from that via calculus. Do note that is the total required, not just for that tile. As in, the number of populations required to claim that tile and all the other tiles you'd need to claim to reach it.

Damn it, I've done and contradicted myself. But, since the only time a tile has been claimed which was more than 1 tile away from an adjacent tile used Ship of Freak's formula, falling back on my original statement would create a rule inconsistency in the game. Because of this, I redact my previous statement and will be using the d=P formula.

Turn 20

Ship of Freaks's Cyan Humans
Stocks: 116 Food
Structures: 6 Towns, 7 Farms, 54 Nature Preserves, 5 Fisheries
Population: 74 Population
Technologies: Field Agriculture, Preservation, Fish Domestication, Smelting, Steel Smelting, Charcoal Burning, 1/20 Mithril Smelting

According to my (often wrong) calculations, you only claimed enough land to build 9 additional Preserves.

Grek's Red Kobolds
Stocks: 4 Food
Structures: 2 Kobold Cave, 5 Fisheries
Population: 9
Armies: 5 total (1-5 at T-59, each has 1 Food (5 total))
Technologies: Theft, Fish Domestication, Stealth Maneuvering, Master Theft

Immortal's Green Dwarves
Stocks: 7 Food
Structures: 4 Subterranean Farms, 2 Mountainhalls
Population: 7
Technologies: Mining, Subterranean Farming

Terenos's Purple Halflings
Stocks: 78 Food
Structures: 7 Farms, 6 Shires, 5 Fisheries
Population: 35
Technologies: Field Agriculture, Fish Domestication, Woodcutting

Terra's Pink Elves
Stocks: 47 Food
Structures: 6 Villages, 5 Fisheries, 23 Nature Preserves, 3 Farms
Population: 30
Technologies: Preservation, Fish Domestication, Field Agriculture, Sailing

Megabeast Hordes
Golden Dragon: The Crown of Unconditional Loyalty, 1 Dwarf Population, 1 Halfling Population, 6 Food
The Kraken: The Seaman's Pearl
The Roc: 3 Roc Eggs

Goings on
The Dragon burns a newly-built Shire, but the Kobolds kindly return the victims (and pocket the food).

never mind, i read grek's last post more carefully.
so what you done is just gone and made it more complicated than it needs to be.
and GM didn't mess anything up, formula is the same.

12 work farms/fisheries
20 claim U-36 E-20 E,F,G-19 O-22 P-20,21,22 Q-20 R-18,19 Q-21 S-17,18,19
16 build preserves
6 work towns
10 research Mithril Smelting
10 research Fortress
