No Volcano

I embarked specificially on a volcano site, and there's no volcano. What gives, DF?

Was the volcano on the very edge of your embark area when you where selecting it? It may have been cut out if thats what happened, IE your prob gonna find some ash or something but the magma is not on your embark site. It happened to me once

Couldn't it be just under the surface as well? I thought I've seen similar; magma pipes that came up to but didn't beach the surface.

I've had volcanoes shortly underground on maps with marked volcanoes as far back as 40d, you usually notice it when you hits obsidian patches. Not sure if current version's volcanoes are as shallow on marked areas, shoot for highest cavern to check it out.

I'm pretty sure magma pipes don't come up as "Volcano" - only if it actually breaches the surface. That's my experience.

Before you embark look on the map and use the uhmk buttons to actually move your embark so you have the volcano as part of it. Alot of the time it likes to choose what it thinks is the best embark place, which mostly is not where the volcano is.
