Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Go investigate noises! (To the machine!)

You begin investigating the large machine. It has a little wheel on the bottom, and a lid on the top that is closed.

>Andrew: Place dowel on platformy-thingy.

After a flash of light, what remains is some sort of yellow orb.

[Farming (Average) +1] You easily uproot the enormous scarecrow with your distinct knowledge of farming. Even though it's deathly cold out here, your snow gear really helps a lot.

Moments after the Kernelsprite and the Scarecrow merge, you realize this may have been a bad idea.

Sirius stared at the weird contraption that suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

"Well," he said to himself, "Today just keeps getting worse, isn't it. Wonder what this does."

Attempt to, in order, turn the crank and pry off the lid.

You manage to make a jet-black CRUXITE DOWEL and KERNELSPRITE appear from the Cruxtruder. These things look kind of unnerving.

GM advice: basically anything that will stop the KAAAAAAHing.

"Right! Here goes nothin'!"

ZELLSPRITE: Lemme help ya with that!

A faint "BZOOOOO" sound can be heard from inside the crypt. However, before you begin to examine it, the room begins to flash.

ZELLSPRITE: Hahaha, aw yeah! We did it!

The light grows so strong it crowds out Penny's vision, and she feels her house rumbling from underneath the pyramid. Moments later, all is black.

>Penny: Wake.

You awaken with a jolt. You're on your back on a hard white surface. It seems to be... your roof?

Looking up, it's night time, but there are no stars. Zellsprite is nowhere to be seen, and the normal hustle and bustle of your mansion house is completely gone.

What will you do?

"What in the ever loving hell is that!?" Sirius shouted, exasperated.

"Eugh." he said, rubbing his head. "Well, big... seizure... thingy. Must find out what is."

Poke it.

Wait, what were you going to do again? You kind of spaced out there.

>Penny: On second thought, go to your bathroom, and address your wound. Mom and Dad are gonna be pissed when they find out you got shot.

You head back inside toward the bathroom. Along the way, you notice the house is totally empty. Not a single maid, butler, parent or guest around. Kind of spooky.

[First Aid (Mediocre) -3 = Abysmal] Back in the bathroom, you attempt to heal your wound but somehow only make it bleed - and hurt - worse. Maybe you should just use the traditional method of find a really big band-aid and wait a few days.

>Andrew: Take the ARTHUR DENT poster off of your room's wall and throw it into the SCARESPRITE.

You knew having a poster of a bedraggled Englishman on your wall would benefit you some day.

Double-prototyping leads to a horrible fusion of Scarecrow and Arthur Dent. You regret yet applaud your own actions.

ARTHURCROWSPRITE: Ford, is that you?
ARTHURCROWSPRITE: Just where in the - oh, you're not Ford.
ARTHURCROWSPRITE: Er, I really should expect this by now. Winding up in a young alien boy's house at random.
ARTHURCROWSPRITE: You know, it's awfully cold in here.

Somewhere on the other side of a fictional galaxy, Ford Prefect grits his teeth at Arthur's continued stating of the obvious.

Sirius blinks, wincing at a sudden headache. steadying himself against a wall, he waits a moment while it subsides.

"What was I...? Ugh, LR better be able to tell me about this."

He heads back upstairs and notices a new message.
