Okay, I am no longer suffocating from the homework pile. For now. And I'm also realizing that illustrated battles are not conducive to a speedily-updated RP... but on the other hand, the game system I'm using doesn't really work that well without them. On top of that, I don't really like the flat damage mechanic, so there's that.

I had typed up this huge post asking for player input on the game system, but I'm actually going to just pose a simple question: would everyone be fine with moving to the Luigi Quest system? Also known as D&D: Zero Shits Given edition. It's the kind of thing you can learn how to use while playing without reading a rulebook or guessing anything. Would certainly decrease my workload, but it would also mean a reduction of pretty pretty pictures.

bunp

Hah, you posted that at the same time I was typing this up.

I'd be cool with it.

Even though she's my friend and all that, I'm considering just kicking applesauce and letting someone else in if she's going to drag her feet like this. I'll give her a bit longer.

Also, system move already in progress. I'll get around to explaining the combat system in full later, but for now just know that you can still make one major action (attacking, using an active ability, throwing an item, anything requiring some effort) and one minor action (switching weapons, grabbing something off the ground, running like hell, anything that doesn't take too long) per turn.

Abscond down the stairs, you have better things to do!

You attempt to ABSCOND, but your BROTHER regains his footing and boots you down the stairs with a mighty REVENGE KICK. You tumble and roll for what feels like minutes but is only seconds. It keeps happening!

By the time you hit the bottom, you're dizzy beyond measure.

>Andrew: Quick! Protect the books! And then check the closet for your extremely thick coat/snowpants/boots/hat.

You make a dive for the books and start moving them away from the window. If only you had a SPARE WINDOW or something in your room. Your PAPA probably has one, though. Afterwards, you check your closet for WINTER GEAR. Being stuck at home due to snow for an entire semester, over half your normal clothes count as "winter gear". You captchalogue a random outfit and put it on.

TB: Figure out source of mechanical screeching.

Okay, that's it, you're getting to the bottom of this once and for all. You walk outside for a minute and try to detect the screeching with all your might. (Roll: 18+1) After listening closely, you can hear the sound coming from directly under your feet. Strange.

>Well, that was simple. Head back to your room.

You try to head back to your room with the discs in tow, but you see a statue-like butler blocking your door. He says he's afraid he can't let you do that, Penny. He explains that your room is currently being cleaned, and your esteemed predecessors have strict orders not to let you in while the maids are cleaning. Damnit.

>ACHIM: Approach the mailbox, maybe you have to get rid of something before Mama gets her hands on it

You head over to the mailbox and pop it open, finding two paper slips inside with green lettering on them. Well, that was easy, no one got beaten up, no one die-

As you turn around, you see some sort of mechanical humanoid has crept up on you. Yes, "mechanical humanoid" like a robot. And it's missing an arm.

Uh oh.

The thing doesn't move, but it appears to be staring you down. It also seems to be breathing like Darth Vader. What will you do?

TB: Go fetch the shovel, because you've obviously got a mechamole infestation and you ain't putting up with the exterminators again.

After suiting up, you head back downstairs and towards the door. But you're quickly knocked off your feet by a LARGE BEARDED MAN! Oh wait, it's just your PAPA. He's normally way chill, but for some reason he seems very concerned about letting you outside.

STRIFE?

TB: Go fetch the shovel, because you've obviously got a mechamole infestation and you ain't putting up with the exterminators again.

You head inside and look for a shovel. (ROLL: 7+1) Unfortunately, you can't seem to find one! This farmhouse has gotten way too elaborate over the years. Surely there's got to be another way under the ground.
