"The commander said something about internal defenses. Perhaps if we found some of them, we could gain enough of a reprieve for our commander to call up for new orders"

Tol closes the doors again, and checks if there is enough air still in reserve that can be pumped onto the bridge.

"We're close enough to the Valiant, which is very probably the core of this whole problem, or at least its origin. We advance and try to help any survivors from the other Sections as soon as we are finished."

Of course Cedros suspected the other teams could be wiped out by the time they were done, but being sidetracked would very likely see his own Section finding their comrades already dead...or worse. If they were also turned into those creatures, it would not take too long until they had to hold off veritable hordes of these abominations.

Keep moving towards the Valiant, flying ahead of the group.
