Lost in Dungeons
« on: August 24, 2012, 05:09:35 am »

Well, I was given a quest by a lord to find and hunt down and kill a gobbo overlord who was residing in the catacombs of a town. I am in the catacombs and they are huge. What's the best way of finding foes in them?

Look, look and look harder.
You are lucky you are not in the sewers.

My minimap tells me to head west, and remains "green" throughout, meaning that I'm not right there, but pretty close, and it hasn't changed for around thirty minutes of walking. When underground, should I simply ignore my minimap?

In the sewers, yes. I'm not sure about the catacombs.

Also, I hope you're a vampire, or you stand no chance. I've lost so many there...

Yeah, dungeon quests are hard.
The master, ringleader or whatever is nearly impossible to kill with a novice character.

Well, did he give you a catacomb or a dungeon quest? Catacombs are connected to the temple and usually consist of long tunnels full of corpses. Dungeons are located under the castle of the town and are a collection of underground rooms with loot scattered troughout them. Sometimes they connect.

Checking now...catacombs. But! I can't find a temple in the town. I'll look harder

You can find temples under the maps, they are named buildings, so they stand out a bit.

I did it! Man, for a Lord's quest, that was easy. I do have a torn lung, though....

Fast travel should help that heal.

And now, dammit. I've been told to seek out a man in the sewers and I can't find him. I look more?

Wait 50 years for a guy to die, who I'm supposed to kill for a quest from the king of my lands?
