I have a dilemma
« on: August 23, 2012, 10:55:20 pm »

On one hand, there are elves in my easily sealed-shut trade deopt.

On the other hand, their leader is named Sanera Necrobearded.

Do I treat him as a brother to dwarfkind with his incredibly awesome name, or kill him and hope he gets reincarnated as a dwarf?

Let her go free, obviously that elf is a disciple of Armok. Sent to teach the elves the dwarven way...

Wait, actually kill her. If she's a disciple of Armok burn her with magma.

He's already crazy, so I'm trying to catch him and put him on necrobearded display (he'll live forever :) ).

It all depends if he staggers outside or inside...

Goomba, I must have your ASCII pack name. LET IT BE KNOWN!

It's from the wiki and it's called the "Vidumec 15x15". However, I didn't like the dwarf and @ graphics and modded it into this (I only changed three tiles so all credit really goes to Vidumec):

I spent about five minutes working on that @ so you'd better appreciate it. (It looks crappy here but I swear it's nicer in-game, or at least in-paint-editor.)

Let it go. There's at least one example of an awesome elf; why not a second? After all, any elf named "Necrobearded" has to be at least a little less wimpy than the usual tree-hugger. Who knows--in a few million years, this elf's descendents may evolve into something that can actually pose a challenge to the dwarves!

Necro.... deadbearded?  I'm thinking that's a dwarf who didn't take good care of his facial hair, and degenerated into an elf when the source of his power withered.

Devise a way to cage him, then put him in your dining hall to give it a little pazzaz.

Well, he's been stricken with melancholy, so he's dead either way. The least you can do is make his death spectacular. How about death by minecart shotgun filled with elven wooden crafts?

Melancholy doesn't mean dead, it means suicidal and unwilling to take care of oneself.  If you keep it away from threats it can't deliberately get itself killed, and if it doesn't need to eat or drink (I'm not sure, do elf merchants do that?) it won't die of starvation or thirst.
