And I think I've decided on the theme. The first bit of the topic I'd have a fullscreen view of the world map, and then have the guys decide on say, an icy glacier of hell, the scorching sandy deserts or some such, or perhaps a remote island fort. Do you guys have any suggestions or pointers before I take the next step as a DF community member? ^^

The latter. And by suggestions or pointers I meant for telling the story of my thread, not crazy ideas for me to do to the fortress. That's reserved for the thread posters ;p I of course want to get them involved and stuff. I'd name some Dorfs after any forum members who wanted to be named in game and stuff.

Just dive right in. Even if you don't do brilliantly on your first go, you can always do another. Make a link in your sig to it, you might gather some you wouldn't have otherwise. And good luck!
