It'd be really neat if you took screenshots of the in-game descriptions for the dwarves so I can roleplay a bit better.

I would but I know from experience that handling a tonne of images and having to do new ones each time a player joins or something changes takes a lot more micromanagement than you'd've thought, there aren't any significant details I left out and then the fact I mentioned refraining from using DF screenshots except when appropriate, feel free to flesh your dwarf out more with details of your own though. Sozzles if I'm being awkward :-X now what happened to sleeping...

Eral likes bullets, sapphires, javelins and plump helmets.

Also a note to the others, if your stuck for inspiration considering a good place to set up camp might be an idea, as would deciding whether to start digging underground straight away, focusing on building walls and which industries are most important early on. Ask as many OOC questions as you have now and then try to transition mostly to in character after turn 1.

I'll post everyone's likes tomorrow as I did for Eral as it's late now.

Eral is the last one off the wagon and tries to hide behind the others so as to avoid being assigned hauling duty. As the fortress is dug out, she politely asks Id to dig out a fairly large room near the living quarters so that Eral can have a space to practice medicine. She also asks Datur to construct a few extra beds and buckets for use in the hospital (she talks slowly and avoids long words so as not to confuse the poor simpleton). In her free time, Eral tries to learn mechanics and practices building mechanisms. She detests hauling and does everything in her power to ensure that she does as little hauling as possible. Eral also goes out looking for some pigtail seeds to plant and she builds a small garden near the main farm to grow them. Eral then claims the closest room to the hospital and goes to sleep after a hard day's work.

Inod goes out to chop wood, grudgingly chopping up trees for use by the others. She doesn't haul them back, though, not wanting to be too long in her unpleasant job as woodcutter, just going to the next tree as soon as possible, leaving the others to finish up the wood. She does, however, help move other things around fairly willingly.

After leaving the wagon, Morul glances about at his fellow outpost members, trying to keep his thoughts clean. It dosen't work well however, months of travel with only women and no "alone time" can do that to a dwarf, no matter how he acts normally.

"So, uh, here we are. All you guys go get set up, I'll try to keep all of our thoughts organized, and go help dig."

Morul helps dig out the living quarters, making sure he includes a small office nearby for the administrative work. He then picks a bedroom near that. After finishing his digging, he approaches Edio to request a desk for his office, then gets all the administrative work done. He builds a bowyers workshop outside, near the wagon (So Morul won't lose it in case of a strange mood.) and builds himself one crossbow. Afterwards, he simply does odd jobs, helping where the fort-to-be needs help.

Just found this so I guess I'll get Datur Bembuludib.

Datur helped Eral with her request for beds & buckets. Datur makes up for her intelligence with plenty of enthusiasm helping around with whatever anyone asks of her and helps out a lot with the hauling.

Turn 1

Warpstone
Whilst digging, Id, the miner encountered warpstone, she reported feeling nauseated, vomited several times and then fainted after digging a tunnel through the ore vein and woke up a short time later at which point she was brought to rest and immediately leaped out of bed to resume work. Sibrek felt sour about the wasted effort, she disliked helping others anyway. Two similar incidents occurred afterwards.

Electing a leader
Morul brought the caravan to Olonumid but is he suitable to bring a dwarven fortress to glory and riches? It's time to establish a leader, every dwarf may nominate themselves as a candidate, after which point voting will take place. You have one vote which you may place on any candidate except yourself, in the event of a tie the oldest dwarf wins. You should discuss amongst yourselves the expedition leader's responsibilities: total control over every aspect of life? Co-ordination of fortress priorities? Or the power to assign (and remove) positions of leadership? How often is a new leader voted in, if ever? Each candidate will provide a short speech outlining why they'll be suitable for the position and what they hope to accomplish.

A new romance
After trying to woo each dwarfette that'd talk to him it was Etur that fell for Morul, the word is that they spent a night of passionate lovemaking together and are when asked how it was they both reported feeling ecstatic. The wedding will happen tomorrow to celebrate the birth of a new fortress.

Progress
Everyone had time to fulfil their tasks, except for Eral who was dismayed to find a complete lack of pigtail seeds, a few rooms have been dug out within the mountainside and whilst the furnishings have been built, they've yet to be moved in. The fortress has a little way to go until it's self sustaining. Both horses were slaughtered.

In addition to their normal duties Etur practiced his masonry and Sibrek smoothed the bedroom walls as neither had little else to do except hauling.

Military
Etur, Morul and Sibrek, the three dwarfs with military training could do with making some decisions, should they partake in civilian duties or train as vigorously as possible for what inevitably lies ahead, if so then how?

Inventory survey
Morul and Eral together counted the inventory, here's what they counted:

7 months worth of food and drink should no migrants appear, a small bag containing plump helmet spawn, clothing, two shields, an axe, a spear, a crossbow, a pick, about a half dozen pieces of every furnishing possible, 20 felled trees, a large pile of rocks, plenty of barrels, bins and wheelbarrows, some well crafted figurines (though made of unrefined, bad quality wood), a length of rope, a couple of buckets and a block of cheese. Should they choose to gather it large spider webs dot the landscape which could potentially be woven into fine silk.

Character details
Extra character details were requested for role-playing purposes, most will be revealed over time but here's a quick OOC dump for you:

Morul worships two gods ardently, both of which take are gods of fish.
Etur enjoys consuming potions of eternal youth; presumably she doesn't do this on a regular basis.
Sibrek is a pyromaniac who likes nothing more than a massive bonfire.
Eral has little patience and likes bullets, sapphires and javelins.
Inod has an eidetic memory, saint-like patience, good creativity and a high level of intelligence.
Datur handles stress badly but is otherwise very single focused and willing to complete tasks.
Id shuns tradition, authority and intelligent discussion.

Morul nominates himself for a leadership role, and believes being the leader should be a responsibility, not a blessing. They should do the paperwork for the other dwarves and do their previous duty in their spare time.

Eral tries to convince Datur to go grab some of the "softy white things" from down in the caverns so that the hospital will be better equipped. If Datur won't do it, she annoys Etur until she'll escort Eral down into the caverns and keep an eye out for monsters. She does everything else in her power to improve the hospital and asks Id to carve her some bullets to play with (can you make bullets out of stone; I've never played Masterwork?). Also she will vote for anyone who leaves the medical department of the fortress under her jurisdiction and doesn't make her haul things.

Inod also nominates herself, and feels that the leader should co-ordinate fortress responsibilities and do some work themselves, instead of just sitting in an office all the time ordering others about. She also feels that a new leader should be voted for every two seasons to a year. She thinks that each dwarf, while overall co-ordinated, should be left a large degree of autonomy, with jurisdiction over what they are the best at.

Turn 2a

Softy white things
Datur doesn't seem to understand Eral's request to venture to the caverns and gather "softy white things", the caverns haven't been accessed yet - though Datur attempts the closest thing to Eral's request and instead ventured to the surface, gathers some spider silk and presents it to Eral, was this what he wanted?

I assumed the spider silk was in the caverns. Are surface spiders a Masterwork thing?
