Seriously, wheelbarrows can speed up the rock-carrying process by many, many times. Building them is pretty intuitive, too (if you understand the UI, lol). Carpenter's workshop.

Morning idea: define a burrow of two tiles, one the rock, the other a stone stockpile. Then add a single dwarf with stone hauling enabled.
Better idea: add Battledigger and let him perform a Diggerdoo exorcism in order to remove the stone. Then use that stone for a statue.

Also in honor of Battlediggers timely advice in the face of such terrible odds, I shall have a temple built, dedicated to his chosen deity, Sorek Cobaltgems the Silvery Depth. I'd like to be dwarfed, just for funsies. Talvixen if female, Talvon if male. Preferably female since I like the first name better. Dwarf me as a mechanic, mason, or miner. Or a combination of them.

The "path" is useless, you could have just designe two squares, or the stockpile and a single square.
Plus, assigning every dwarf to the burrow is quite useless if no one cares about that damned rock...
