It would be helpful if we had a clothes maker person if we put a group together. I can make any sort of basic ammo (crossbow bolts, light/medium/heavy rifle ammo, though if you use the last one there you'd probably get it from me sooner since thats what I made all the time to stockpile ammo for myself) and scattered other things, but all of the clothes my guy had on were made by Kyratses.

I've been playing a bit and got up to level 9 so far. Don't really know what I'm doing, though - just roaming around and doing quests as I find them.

I'm eventually planning on doing crafting, but so far I haven't had the spare points to raise int to get it high. Capped at 43 right now, which doesn't let me make all that much. I don't actually have any of my crafting skills there yet, though - all my recipes that give me xp take a ton of materials heh. Guess I need to look for books that open up easier to make recipes, and figure out good places to gather all the junk I need for crafting. Still using crappy Plattmaster pistols with cheap ammo, even though I have a "vicious pistol" that does way more damage - I just don't have a source for the heavy ammo for it.

I'm thinking I'll try to get my skill high enough to make a pair of higher end pistols that still use the cheap ammo, so I can keep using the easy to get ammo instead of having to make the better stuff - since I still don't know how to actually make the better stuff :P

We should get together ingame. What char names did you guys pick? I couldn't get any of the ones I usually go with, so I just made up one that sounded decent. Named my char Lily Kemp (since I made a midget female for the hitbox issues I had been reading about, haha)

My guy is, of course, Aklyon. If it isn't I 'll tell you when I play after I finish reading this thing.

For heavy ammo, you need copious quantities of copper, lead, some bits of steel, and heavy gunpowder, which uses geo chems and biological chems. Might be slightly different for pistol ammo. Don't forget you can use your horse and/or atv or motorcycle as a secondary storage.

I made some Platt Avenger II pistols. They aren't completely terrible, and still use the cheap ammo which I have thousands of. Pistols burn through ammo ridiculously fast, I used 500 rounds just soloing the Junk Fortress place at level 7.

Also been working on armor crafting. Gathered a bunch of cotton and crafted a bunch of junk and got it up to my cap of 48. still only level 10, but now I'm equipped with some fairly decent armor at least. Maybe now I won't die at the drop of a hat when I get swarmed by stuff. I died 3 times just collecting wood for my pistols because swarms of warrior ants kept popping out of nowhere and killing me before I could get back on my horse.

Swarms are even worse when you aren't at pistol speed with your gun :-\

Then again, if I get swarmed its probably my fault for letting them get so close in the first place.

I spend most of my time in low level areas being naked and casting heals and buffs on nublets.

So I just punch things to death.

I've only died 4 times so far. Once really early on when I went off exploring as soon as I got my horse and got killed by stuff way stronger than me, and the three times to those dang ants. The weird thing is they weren't showing up on radar or visible on my screen at all, I'd just ride up to some wood, hop off my horse, and start harvesting. Next thing I know I have 5+ ants all around me spitting acid and eating my face, with me dead before I even get back on the horse to ride off. I have a suspicion that ants can hide underground or something, either that or it's lag.

That Junk Fortress place was a cakewalk with pistols, even the bosses went down easy. Never even came close to death, most stuff died from headshots before they got close enough to me to fight back.

Looks like servers are down now. Guess I'll go do something else for a bit.

So, is anyone else actually playing this? Got into it a bit thinking I might play with other B12ers, but so far all I've seen was Aklyon for a few minutes  :P

I do still have a level 24 sciency dual pistol user, and a stripped down level 12 with decent crafting abilities (that I didn't like her skill build and didn't feel like using amazing amounts of chips to respec) but Guild Wars 2 pre-purchase release is coming tonight and I can't balance two MMOs very well. Especially when one is exciting and new, and the other requires a monthly payment to not be restricted on my crafting queue.

I haven't found the game that restrictive on the free mode. Seems like it could be a decent game, I like the whole FPS/RPG blend genre - don't find too many of those. Not much fun by myself, though  ;)

I've gotten with a few groups, but most players I meet seem remarkably antisocial for an MMO. It's pretty rare that I've found folks who want to group up for group quests, even when we both happen to be in the same area doing the same exact quest - so I've wound up soloing most stuff. It's an interesting time waster playing it solo, but it seems like it could be fun with a group. Ah well.

In sector 2 now as a level 21. Some of the quests here are nuts. I just did one that wanted me to defend a position. As soon as I walk up suddenly it spawns in 3 npcs with shotguns point blank beside me. In the first second I lost 170 health (one shot me for 73). I took them down quick with headshots from my pistols, but still took a second hit from the third shot gunner. I used all three of my healing abilities during the short fight, but I was still down a lot of health when the next wave of three shotgun guys popped up right beside me the second the third guy died. Killed them all too, but took another 200 or so damage (again healing myself repeatedly with staunch wound and my mutation healing power). Then a third wave, also all carrying shotguns, popped up beside me again the second the last of the 2nd wave died. BLAMBLAMBLAM another 150 or so damage the second they pop in, and I'm dead before I can even shoot back. Mission failed.
