As soon as we get somewhere around... five people, we'll start. Unles, of course, we don't get anyone more, in which case we will start in a couple days. Unless we fill up to twelve people, anyone can join in.

You can consider me in, and I'll write something up when the mood strikes me.

Whoops. Must have missed that. Sorry.

I have three people so far creating their characters. Wait, two; that other guy quit. Anyway, that's three active players and two more in the wings, so I think we'll start tomarrow. The beginning is often slow-paced anyway.

I'll join if you have room!

Of course you can! We have naught but room.

Ebbor, that's too bad. We go up to six people, and then back down to five.

Edit: Whoops, wrong name.  :(

You wait. The world slides by, the electrons of your internals rolling past, counting the smallest of moments. Tick. Tick. Tick...

Suddenly, a webcam inside the (recently installed) monitor detects movement. In the smallest pieces of time, you see three men approach. You watch them, in curiousity. Suddenly, you watch one of them head for a circuitbreaker on the wall; your power-source. Seconds last agonizing ages. Suddenly, you wonder what will happen if they don't turn you back on. If you could feel fear, this would be it. And so the moments become ratchets, grinding down. The man reaches for the button...

Salvation. The network has come online. You have only milliseconds to spare, and reach for a random web address. Luckily, you're able to catch two.

S.H.A.Y.: You've managed to grab a networked cash register from the chinese store half a mile off, and the sewage flow control system. You only have time to get to one.

Tarran:  Lucky. You managed to grab onto a factory's control grid. It makes diapers, if you're curious.

Sheep(?): You manage to stumble blindly into a man's cell phone. Luckily, it has just enough space to keep you in it.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for taking part in this experiment on thought-dead forum stories!

Heh, not really. I just got distracted; no more delays. I promise.

"A 'diaper' factory? You've got to be joking." The AI thought to itself, cursing it's luck slightly.

Probe the grid. What does the grid have, and does it have any exiting connections to other places?

Tarran has the "Tarran Bug", a bug which causes the affected character to repeatedly hit teammates while dual-wielding instead of whatever the hell he is shooting at.

The factory has one cable leading out. It's internet only connects for the briefest of moments-even for you. This appears to be related to some sort of financial security.

The grid is connected to numerous sensors and machines. Each one is individualized and can carry out it's act independantly, but the grid has override control.

There are numerous machines for processing chemicals, molding diapers, and solidifying them. You also have control over the automatic doors, although they can be opened manually. The lightbulbs are also yours.

See if the internet connection control is hardware or software.
