((Bump!  Give me a couple rounds of actions so I can have the muties reappear.  Also leveling up will be on a by adventure basis.  There will be a level up after this episode wraps up but further adventures might be a bit longer.))

Kat took the moments before battle to look for something she could use as quick cover against the eyes and claws of the Draculas.

Action: She tucks into the small alcove closest to her. Kat spends the time reinforcing her hiding place with some sort of portable cover.

Seeing Ethan bungle around, Troy rolled his eyes and sighed.

"Stay close Ethan! We'll go back to back so they don't get behind us!"

Stay near Ethan and get ready for a rush.

[Caellath]

"Follow me if you are so keen on staying near me." Ethan shot back, shrugging.

He rolled the longsword's hilt around his fingers before finishing:
"Rather one of these nasties hit us instead of your bosses."

[Zako]

"Heh, it wouldn't be the first time that's happened. Just make sure to watch out when they jump, if they pin us down we're done for."

Ethan rose an eyebrow at Troy's comment.
"Their attempts at pouncing and pinning have been directed only at me so far, figures I'm the one who knows best about how problematic their attempts to show their love are."

Paprika presses herself against the walls in the shadowy areas, in order to hide from more mutants. Combat was not her strong point, and neither was fighting with mutant abberations.

The humans clammor onto the platform and scramble around for positions.  Ethan isn't sure which way to go and just ends up standing next to the fire.  Troy takes up a position near the edge ready to defend against mutants climbing up.  Rain stands off the the side, planning to offer assistance to either of them if they are injured.  Paprika and Kat try to slip back into the shadows and crouch down near some of the collapsed sections of the walls.  Unfortunately for them the mutants know this platform like the back of their own hands and their attempts at stealth would be for naught.

((This makes 5 straight rolls of stealth/detection where the mutants have gotten a 1 or a 20))

The humans carefully scan for signs of the mutants but seconds pass in silence.  Then suddenly Rain's head whips around and she let's loose a disk from her gun.  The mutant that had disappeared before reappears, tumbling downward with a disk in his back.  Rain comments on the sight, "Huh, they can climb walls."  Unfortunately Paprika and Troy turn to see what she was talking about and are distracted when the other four mutants appear.

The mutants leap up onto the platform after having creapt forward quietly, letting out predatory screams.  The six foot height proves no obstacle for them, they all clear it in a single bound.

"Here they come." Ethan pointed out to anyone still distracted before moving to attack the enemy nearest to him.

Ethans attack goes right over the heads of the mutants as they swarm forward to attack the humans.  One springs at Ethan.  It tries to rake him with it's claws but he nimbly parries it's attack with a swift left arm block.  A mutant goes at Troy from each side.  He manages to dance away from one's attack but the other catches him with a swipe, leaving a red trail across his torso (6 damage).  The final mutant pounces on Rain as she turns away from the enemy she just dispatched.  The woman turns to find herself face to face with a set of fangs headed straight for her throat.  A shower of blood bursts from the neck but it's not Rain's neck that bleeds.  Rain gasps in wide eye'd shock and relief as Kat's crossbow bolt pierces the neck of the mutant clearly.  Rain steps back in shock, gripping her own throat as the mutant falls to it's knees in front of her.  "Thank You!" she manages to gasp.
