Paprika dashes to Ethan's side and touches his back carefully.
"Are you okay? Still in a mostly humanoid shape?" she asks.
"Of course I am." Ethan grunted, already back up and dusting off. "And this is why I'm moving ahead of the group. Damn tackling monsters."

Ethan moves on to retrieve his arrows, avoiding any of the fumes still remaining.

Troy rubbed the bridge of his nose with the back of his hand as he tucked his baton away again.

"Damn mutants. Never know for certain what they're gonna do. Since you can still walk and breathe Kat, it shouldn't be fatal, not to my knowledge at any rate. A good few hours rest in a cool, safe place and you should hopefully feel better."

As he grabbed the fallen torch and looked around, he nodded to Ethan.

"Glad to see your ok. That could have gone pretty badly back there."

Search the area for spend ammunitions, like bullet casings, arrows and bolts, making sure to not breathe in the fumes. Return them to their proper owners but keep the casings for myself.

Paprika frowns.
She then picks up her three casings.

If Zako picks anything up, go at him and annoy him until he gives them up.

"Glad to see your ok. That could have gone pretty badly back there."
"Sure, sure." Ethan answers with a handwave. "At least its digestive goop was not very effective. Probably better for fresh meat than struggling enemies. Also, I don't die so easily." he completes, tapping his side, one of the points the mutant they had found beforehand had slashed at him.

Ethan moves on to retrieve his arrows, avoiding any of the fumes still remaining.

Ethan's searches prove quite luckless.  He manages to recover 1 of his arrows but all the other arrows, his or otherwise, are too damaged to recover.

keep the casings for myself.

Troy manages to find all the fired casings.

Search Check, Taking 10 (Searching the Spiders Nest)
17

Kat walks over to the spiders nest with Rain in tow, hovering over her like a mother hen.  In the spider's nest she finds a small treasure trove.  The mutants were apparently feeding people to the spiders, she finds three skeletons that have been stripped of flesh.  But apparently they didn't bother to strip the bodies of gear first.  Most of the gear is too worn away by teeth or corrosive substances to be of any use but some of the metal equipment survived.

In the worn out remains of a bandoleer there are four throwing knives, a little covered in grime and substances of undetermined origin but perfectly usable.  A pair of binoculars and a longsword seem to have survived decay.  She hits the jackpot however by spotting a glint in the corner.  Hidden among some loose trash is the remains of an ancient rifle.  It's barrel and mechanisms are too corroded to be of any use but it contains a clip with 10 rounds still loaded.  The rounds are .50 caliber and seem to be well preserved.

Rain also finds a bag that contains what seem to be coins.  Everyone knows what coins are, millions of them survived the war and they are occasionally melted down for copper or silver.  But they're generally pretty worthless, they aren't the most convenient form of metal to salvage (small size, mixed metals) and there's far too many of them to have any value as scarcity.  You've never met a trader that accepts coinage for more then bulk scrap.  But among the skeletons you find a bag of iron coins about the size of pre-war dollar coins.  They are all stamped with the image of an eagle on one side and a star on the other.  There are twelve of the coins and they bear what seem to be dates of minting.  If the dates are correct the coins were all made between two and five years ago.

((I gotta go do the lights for a local community theater for a few hours, but will get back online after that.))

"I'm taking this, if you don't mind. Saw one of these before." Ethan says before taking the broadsword and giving it a tentative sweep to feel its weight, putting his composite bow at his back and opting for the sword.

"Since these buggers simply love to attack me anyway and I'm going in front." he completes, staring at the blade with a smile. He had seen one of these when he was a little kid. Brought him some good memories.

Ethan takes the broadsword then moves on, ahead of the group with Paprika.

Kat nodded as Ethan took the dangerous looking blade-she would have doubted her ability to even lift and swing it properly. It looked fairly natural on him, though.

She began carefully packing up the coins, and with some difficulty, ejected the clip from the rifle and stowed it away. High caliber bullets were always in demand.

Kat then held up the knife bandoleer for any one who wanted to take it...and handed the binoculars to Ethan, who had demonstrated he had the best eyes of any of them.

Action: Take the Coins and the Clip for myself
Give Ethan the Binoculars
Give the knife bandoleer to anyone who wants it, otherwise wear it.

((OOC: Any questions with this? O_o

I'll barter the ammo and currency myself.
Ethan is the only one of us with ranks in Spot
And someone with a nice mix of Str and Dex should take the knives))

"Nice loot you got there. I'll take those, if you don't mind, I reckon I can put them to good use."

Troy takes the bandolier of throwing knives and straps it across himself somewhere and covers it with his clothes.

"Now let's get moving. Still got a job to do after all."

Fasten the torch back onto rain with tape and move onwards.

((Funny story about that longsword.  My brain said "give them a compass" but my fingers apparently went "fuck that shit, compasses are boring.  Know what's badass?  Swords!", so that's why you now have a longsword.

For a more long term matter, do people want me to keep Rain around as a PC or should I put her on a bus after this dungeon crawl wraps up?  I personally think she'd be useful to keep in the party as I could use her to nudge you guys in the right direction if I need to.  You guys agree?))

Fasten the torch back onto rain with tape and move onwards.

"I am Rain Forester, light bearer."

The band of daring doer's forms up and proceeds deeper into the tunnels.  Rain stays near the back so her light doesn't give away their approach and insists that Kat stay with her so she can keep an eye on her friends recovery.  Troy takes the lead, intending to use his trained senses to spot trouble before it spots them.

As they approach a corner Troy hears something and stops short.  There is another of the mutants right around the corner...

Two seconds later the mutant springs round the corner and collides with Troy, much to the surprise of both of them.  The mutant's head snaps up as it stares in confusion at the five humans in front of it, the five humans themselves are left scrambling to react to this sudden entrance.

((The baddie managed to roll a natural 20 on spot but a natural 1 on stealth...

Initiative:
16 Ethan
15 Malkavian
14 Paprika
13 Troy
8 Rain
5 Kat

The mutant is flat footed for Ethan's first round.))

((I would let Rain stay. It's hard to imagine Kat letting her go off somewhere, and it'd be depressing to modkill her. :P

Also, I know it's pointless for me in this specific circumstance, but I can't have a 2 on initiative, unless you're just showing rolls and not bonuses. I have 3 base from Dex. That's unpossible. :V ))

Kats vision swam-precious seconds passed as she got over a sudden coughing fit. She lifted her crossbow, trying to find the Dracula through blurry eyes...

((@GM: Thanks for the longsword, I also agree. Also, you forgot Sky's action and the fact the team had set up that Ethan would go in front with Paprika right behind him. :P

Edit: But I won't complain if Troy gets hit this time around. :P))

((Feel free to argue this out but specify that this is happening before the battle with each post.  Don't want to make it any more confusing then it needs to be.  If you can't agree then I suggest opposed diplomacy checks.  Also there is no knife belt.  The knives were found in the useless remains of a bandoleer, not a usable one.))
