You enter the cavern

It is dark. The scattered beams of your flashlights illuminate dripping stones, and old bloodstains. The air seeths with the scent of carrion, both old and new, filling your nostrils with the hellish scent of a carnivore's lair. About ten feet ahead is a smaller chamber. Light pours in, and you see something gray. A gray hoodie. Sleeves ripped off by clumsy talons. Wicked claws. Diseased, reddened flesh, riddled with boils and cysts. exposed feet, splayed out for better balance. It turns, hissing, then makes the most godawful scream you have ever heard. You notice it's teeth are sharp, ripping fangs.

Roll For initiative

Malkavian: 1d20+2=18

((Edit: Wrex/Btw, since it's extremely relevant to this campaign, what are the rules for recovering fired arrows/bolts/discs?))

"Christ... what is that?" Rain isn't repelled or disciplined about the sight of the abomination in front of them, she's instead filled with confusion.  She knew there were mutants out in the wasteland but had never seen anything like those claws.  But confused or not her hands are in motion, snapping her disc launcher into a firing position.  With her nerves unsettled by this sight all it would take would be the slightest motion from the mutant to make Rain fire.

"It's what we're looking for." Troy replied while sighting the thing down an arrow shaft. "Now shoot it!"

Shoot the enemy as soon as it moves towards the group.

1d20+4=16

Paprika whimpers a bit, and shines her flashlight directly into its eyes.

Shoot if it goes at Ethan or myself.

Initiative list:
Zako:23
Kat:23
Ethan:18
First Malkavian:18
Rain: 17
Paprika: 16
Second Malkavian:8

Ethan, Paprika, and Troy noticed a second one, dropping down forkm the ceiling about 15 feet behind the first. They may act in the surprise round. The farthest opponent is 25 feet away.

((I lost the passive spot rolls :\. Fail. Also, when you roll an attack, also roll damage. If you miss, we ingore it. If you hit, we save time.))

"A second one, coming towards us some feet ahead." Ethan hissed as he pulled the string of his composite bow.

Attack and Damage Rolls:

1d20+4;1d8+3 → [4,4] = (8)
1d20+4;1d8+3 → [5,3] = (8)

Ethan kept his focus as his first arrow went wide, preparing a fresh one.

1d20+3; 1d8 → [16,3] = (19)
1d20+3; 1d8 → [4] = (4)

Rain drops to one knee, trying to keep a bead on the creature.  It's only after the creature moves that she lets her disk fly, a decent shot but not a certain hit since she hesitated.

Troy's shot lands true, ripping through the heart of the monster. It clutches at the shaft, tearing it out- then slumping to the ground as blood pours form the wound.

The second one reacts quickly, moving forwards to attack, narrowly avoiding an arrow form Ethan's bow.

((Surprise round guys. Ethan, paprika, and Troy get to act this round, because the passive spot rolls I made form them detected the creature. At least, as far as I knew how surprise rounds worked...I could be wrong. When your turn does come, though, you can reuse those rolls.))
