"Yeah, sure I look good while smiling." Ethan answers sarcastically, facing away from her as a familiar and warm sensation hits his face once again. Damn, his smile had been sarcastic. "Sleep and wake up on your own next time, I already have enough problems as it is."

He took a moment looking away from Paprika to examine Troy. Now that the girl mentioned, he really looked like a house robber.

Kat smiles, nudging Rain and pointing Ethan and Paprika.

Like it or not, the pair of them was now a couple.

The Ferry has arrived, after a particularly viscious radsquid was forced off the side, and beaten to death with the nearest heavy object.

Some mood music

You begin the long and ardous trek out into the wastelands. The day is clear, without a cloud in the sky, and quite hot. The rusted hulks of old vehicles line the roads, by now picked clean of all valuables. The ancient tarmac sticks slightly under the soles of your shoes, as the dust and ash blows along the ground. The terrain is clear, with the occasional rolling hill and rocky outcropping, but your sightlines are quite clear. After some time, you see your destination, only a short distance away.

What do you do?

Rain had been fastidiously ignoring the duo, tending to the items in the bags on Gunther.  Such wonderful supplies but so little of them.  She happily checked the specs and state of each item, feeling a new confidence after having so little hope before.  It was this anti-social behavior that Kat jarred her out of by pointing at the 'couple' teasing each other.

"Oh... that's nice for them I guess." Rain muttered to her friend too quietly for anyone else to hear.  She sounded almost apprehensive about the whole thing.  Rain cleared her throat and forced a smile.  "I was just so caught up in all the shiny swag I wasn't paying attention to anyone else."  Rain gives a pat to her donkey and mutters "good boy" while watching Kat to see if the girl had anything more to say or if Rain's self inflicted social isolation was good to continue.

"Well, we're here, what's the plan?" Ethan asked, taking off his hat and tucking it away safely at a strap on his bag, allowing his shaggy black hair to fall free once again.

"Making loud noises could probably irritate the mutants and bring them closer to the edge of the cave, and we probably wouldn't need to venture in too deep...But on the other side, maybe if we went in without causing noise we could take them by surprise and pick them off separately, depending on how acute their senses are." he continued, crouching and taking off his compound bow to notch an arrow.

At this distance, it's hard to make out, but there appears to be an object of some sort near the mouth. In addition, the barn is nearby. The structure appears relatively intact.

"Let's check that out." Ethan said before walking in the direction of the cave's entrance.

Check the object and the barn.

As they got in sight of the destination Rain said aloud "hold a minute, please" and turns to get a pair of items from her pack on the back of the donkey.  One is her medical kit which she slings across her back and the other is a duct-tape bandolier of three molotov cocktails she wears across her check.  She ties her bags up securely again and turns to her companions.

"Okay, sorry if this is a bit bossy but here's how I do things if you want me to keep you alive.  In here-" she turns her back towards them and points a thumb at the pack of medical supplies before turning back "I have the very best in 21st century medical technology.  If things get dicey in there and you get hurt and need me then yell 'Medic' nice and loud and I'll drop everything and run over to help you.  But don't go saying 'Medic' if you don't have something worth my attention or else I'll give you something worth screaming about when I arrive.  Besides that, I plan on staying behind you guys as much as possible."
Here she fidgeted with her goggles and stared over them for dramatic effect.  "No offense but I don't want to be the one taking a bullet seeing as I'm on patch duty.  Thank's for your attention." While she gave these instructions Rain didn't show her usual uncertainty and shyness.  This was a matter of life or death and she wasn't one to worry about being blunt when it came to this stuff.

"Well, we're here, what's the plan?" Ethan asked, taking off his hat and tucking it away safely at a strap on his bag, allowing his shaggy black hair to fall free once again.

"Surprise sounds good.  I'm right behind you."

"I think... " Paprika trailed off, one hand on hip and the other hanging.

"I think I should go check it out."

Go check out thing while hiding as best as possible!

Troy stood silently by, watching Rain say her piece. He was slightly amused by her antics, putting on the tough girl act when he could tell she didn't really know how to fight. She did seem serious about the medical help though, which was a bonus he supposed. He put that out of his mind and focused on the job at hand, unslinging his bow and notching an arrow.

"Clearing that barn would be a fine idea before we head underground. Paprika, we'll circle around to the back quietly and scope it out from there. The rest of you, go for the front slowly and watch for ambushes."

Approach the barn quietly with Paprika and circle around to the back.

The object appears to be a corpse. It's really torn up, almost as if a pack of wild animals decended on it. Search checks please.

The barn appears empty, save for the skeletons of old animals. Scavenging it would take some time, possibly several hours.

"Let's check this..." Ethan says as he approaches the scene.

Search Roll:
1d20+2 → [15,2] = (17)

After scrounging up anything found, enter the cave.

Stealth Roll (If necessary):
1d20+4 → [9,4] = (13)
