So there are rumours going around the internet saying that EA is looking to sell their company.

Rumors! On the internet! Also, the New York Post!  ::)

Wait, people are actually taking this seriously?

I sort of figured that it was all a made up rumor when I saw Kotaku posted something about it. Seriously, Kotaku writers take an extremely vague rumor and write about it like it's a fact.

I don't know what to call Kotaku. It's more like a nerd/otaku news site.

Pretty much, they're the Tabloid Newspaper of the video game community.

Sounds like stock manipulation on EA's part.  Hopefully they'll get caught and prosecuted.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

Man. That's a lot of unreasonable hate. EA always seem to be hated so much. They do bad things, but I think the amount of hate for them everywhere is very over the top.

If you don't like EA, don't buy from them. Someone (likely Indy) will see a potential market and fill the areas. Capitalism.

Honestly after they ruined Generals 2 I lost all hope the company will make a game suited to my tastes, and now funnel my entertainment funds more into indy titles. Such as Planetary Annihilation.

Is it just me, or does EA get too much hate? Don't get me wrong, I think their bastards as well. I just think that too much hate on one company can take away focus on ones which matter, like Activision with their tendancy to milk series in till they crash and burn, or Zynga, arguably the worst of the lot, whose business policy is literally to rip off other peoples ideas.

Or hell, Valve. What most people don't realize is that they have an almost complete monopoly on the PC gaming market. Steam is effectively a trap. Once you start buying games on it you won't ever leave steam because all of your games are on Steam. Sure, Valve may have a lot of good PR, but its scary to think how easily they can flip that coin, and how little you would be able to stop it.

And wishing for the company to actually dissipate is a horrible horrible thing. You have any idea how many employees EA has? All of those people would have to be fired, leavings thousands jobless.

What I basically saying that you should hate and distrust all corporations equally.

i want them to BURN no questions asked. Bomb their office, torture their CEO/board suit guy, MAKE THEM learn that fucking player's favorite IP up is NOT to take gently!!!. I just plain hate EA AA machine all pretty with no content.
So what your saying is that you would kill innocent people, give someone who likely doesn't know who your are horrible treatment, and thousands jobless because you didn't like the way that your Game ended?

Personally, I usually purchase non-steam if there is the option to...  and honestly, these days, the only game I'd miss on it is L4D2...  +who knows how many hours on the xbox version of L4D1 and L4D2...  and now +400 on steam.

And meh, I consider Activision and Zynga worse then EA.  And if I'm buying, its 2nd hand anyways.

*snippy snippy* and now funnel my entertainment funds more into indy titles. Such as Planetary Annihilation.
I heard about PA. Seems pretty cool. I can't fund it, though, because I don't have a kickstarter account.

*again snippy* And meh, I consider Activision and Zynga worse then EA.  And if I'm buying, its 2nd hand anyways.
I dislike zynga because I can't think of any creative things they've made. You have farmville all its bastard children in different settings, and the classic board games for iphone. Not much to write home for, here... Just on people's walls to ask for another cow.
