Note that the version of uplink in this pack will only work on tablets...
I'm inclined to disagree as the download I'm getting is: uplink-windows-1.6-1344894496.exe
Since this is an Android bundle, I'm assuming what they mean is it's unplayable on Android phones. If you wish to play it on an Android device, it must be a tablet.
Anyway, I've got most of the games already. It's sad, but this is going to be the second bundle I'm passing on.
I have an ASUS eee Pad Transformer, which has a 10.1" display, and Uplink says it's incompatible because it needs a 7" screen.
So I think it's not so much a must-have-a-tablet issue and more of a must-have-a-specific-device issue.
Hijacking this cause I can't find anything else similar that wouldn't lead to a Necro...
Any other good games for Android???
I have all the Kirosoft games so yeah...
Cthuhlu Wasted Land is a neat little turn based squad tactical game set in WW1 (I think, can't actually remember). You go on missions, level up your guys, buy new equipment, learn spells, etc. Probobly pretty expensive now... I got it in a bundle a month or so ago. Probobly wont work on phones all that well? I've only played it on my tablet.
Dungeon Raid is a very good combination of an RPG and a match-three Bejewled style game. It's a very good time-killer for travelling or going for a smoke or whatever.
Legends of Yore and Cardinal Quest: 2 roguelikes. Cardinal Quest is very simple, but still fun. Legend of Yore is much truer to its roguelike roots.
Zen Pinball THD: I think you need a Tegra processor for this, which is tablet only? But it's the best pinball game I've found on the play store. You get one table free (and i spend hours and hours on that alone) and buy the rest. Don't get any of the marvel licensed character ones as they are all crap compared to the original ones.
Pinball Arcade: The second best pinball app. Mostly second becuse the tables are whackadoo expensive. But they're all re-created arcade tables from pinball history, which is awesome. They seem to rotate which one you can play for free on a monthly basis, so if you like pinball it's worth having it installed just to play the free ones (the non free ones kick you off after either a score limit or time limit is reached, either way its too short to play a full game)
Townsmen 6 Free is an excellent building game in the likes of anno (numbers). Doesn't require you to spend any money on the free version as far as I can tell to get the full enjoyment. IF you like building cities and managing resources this is worth a go. Has a campaign mode and a free-play mode too, so theres that.
Trainyard: I can't remember if this is free or not. If it's not it's probobly pretty cheap. Basically it's a puzzle game involving trains and their tracks. Really really good. Reminded me of a Spacechem-lite kind of feel. The graphics are really simplistic, but the game itself is golden.
Carcassone: It's the android port of a boardgame that's basically one of the must-play classics. Has a pass around multiplayer mode, which is how I usually play it. Short games, I think upto 6 players? Might be wrong on that one. Really simple rules: Basically you're picking up tiles and laying them down, matching the sides up to other tiles that are allready on the board. You also have a limited supply of dudes (meeple as their called) to put down and claim areas when you place a tile. You score points for finishing things like cities and roads, and less points for having a meeple down on an unfinished thing at the end of the game.
PrincessPuntTHD: Another tegra-only one I think. You're a princess, you have knights and archers and dudes. You kick them at monsters. It's Japanese and it's great.
That's all the games I've played recently. I've got a crap load more installed but I can't remember what they are anymore. It's kind of a shame the play store is so crappy, beacuse finding new games is way too much of a chore than it should be. I think all the games I've played and really enjoyed have been things I've heard about on SA's android gaming thread, or from friends and the like. Very rarely do I see anything worthwhile on the store itself.
