BOOP My head!
« on: August 14, 2012, 07:08:32 pm »

Yeah, Boop it like that internet-meme dog does at a cat. I'm a retarded son of a bitch that should get his face bashed in, why? Because i'm impatient as hell! I don't know if I really want to be impatient or not, since I seem to be it no matter what!

Everytime I like someone, I keep rushing things, Everytime I want to go somewhere, I rush it. Exercise is the same. (Thanks for the tips though Weenog. You also got the heat going on the Furnace of War inside of me.)

In school, I keep thinking 'Oh doesn't matter, i've got looaads of time'. I've always had the complex of "Don't have to do it right now? I'll do it Laaateeeeer" - Then turn out to either not do it, or do it as little as possible. Same with training, I always believe that the snowball effect will rule in my favour. When I was a kid, I had THE fastest learning speed in the whole Sweden. (That had gotten noted). Now i'm lucky if I can hear things correct the first time without needing to focus.

I just don't know what the fuck I want to do with my life, so here's some profanity while I sob it all off with depressive music.

TL;DR: I'm a wuss that QQs about his life, and this is a rant caused by midnight depression.

Btw. Weenog, if you read this, could you recommend me a good way to get a better 'Condition'? As in, pulse rate and stuff. I begin wheezing at pretty much everything, but whenever I try to go even faster and yaddayadda, it doesn't seem to get 'worse'. It feels like when I begin wheezing, that's the limit of my pulse rate... Till I begin vomitting and can feel the blood pumping around my head, and a pressure around the heart. >Detailed information was a question to the ones able to answer my question- Yeaaah i'm beginning to mumble. Night.

Also how old are you? If you don't mind me asking ?

Cause once you get out of school life gets much better.

I have 2 friends and I have just finnished college and about to start uni next year I'm taking a year out and I can say this is the happiest time of my life, no pressure or anything. You just got to take a day off and relax and think about stuff logically, find a hobby something you really enjoy.

And while your in school don't slack off ! It will be your worst mistake ever work hard and later inife you will have it easy !

I'm 17 years old, this year around may. My weight right now is about 82kg and has been steadily going up from 64 since November last year. I'm 171cm and have been for three years.

Oh and, Script, the problem is that the life deciding choices for Swedes is 16-18years old, because this education is the only way to get a job. Hence why the weight I'm feeling. The only other job I'd see as fun(which I can't in Sweden. And it might not help that much economically) is professional boxing. So right now I'm gonna study electronics because I had to reroll first year.

I live in the UK it's the same for me :P I have to take all my qualifications at that age, I wanted to be a doctor and natural at biology, but I did not put any effort into my education Soo I'm now in IT and training for security analysis, you have to ask your self what is your passion ? And where can you find a Job in that ?

And do you enjoy electronics ? Can you see your self taking that education to a higher level ?

What are your chances upgrading from Electronics to Computer Science? Its a great field especially Networking, theres a huge demand for Networking specialists right now in the corporate zone worldwide. As for the huge increase of weight, you might want to start diet. For your exercising you do enough where you aren't wheezing for air but at most building some sweat and aching muscles. Start with cardio as for right now you just need to build endurance for your body.

I've not done much in the way of deliberate endurance training and cardio.  What I have noticed from results of stuff I just had to do anyway agrees with a lot of what turns up on google searching: you build up endurance by enduring more.  It's so simple it's tautological.  If you can run 2 miles, and you want to run 6, try running 3 until it doesn't nearly kill you, then run 4.  You see where this is going.  Remember that your heart is a muscle, and like any other muscle you strengthen it by working it harder than it's strictly comfortable with, and then resting it while nourishing it properly.

I don't know what your access to usable wilderness or public facilities is like, but I feel I should point out that swimming is very good if you have opportunity to do it.  If you're serious about really moving when you're in the water, you can get your heart rate way up in a hurry.  The energy output is immense, in fact I would recommend taking a spotter along with you if you don't swim where there's a lifeguard, so you don't wind up drowning when fatigue hits hard.  The water cools you, so you can keep exercising long after you might normally have overheated and given up.  Perhaps best of all for somebody seriously lacking in core strength, swimming is a whole-body workout which makes no specific pass/fail demands that might be outside your limits.  It's a workout with no impact, and one which provides full support for your body, so you don't suffer a tragic and silly accident like getting stuck on an inclined crunch/situp setup because your abs can't lift you high enough to reach and release your feet.

By Electronics it's just a 'Education', not a 'Subject'. Like Engineering or Industry. I honestly don't like Electronics, but atleast i'll have a easy three years, since the only thing that bugged me a bit at Engineering was math, even though I liked the math there.

I didn't really talk about endurance, since i'm able to run a bit below sprinting speed for about 16kilometers (Before I can even feel my hair completely out of water, I can run more but if I stop I can feel my legs being numb and vibrating.), but it's the wheezing that bugs me. I'll try try swimming, though i've got about 1 week left before it REALLY gets cold :P

Any way to figure out what keeps me sinking though? My legs refuse to float no matter what, so I have to fling them around all the time to not sink... Though I sim faster than I can run when i'm at the floor of lakes, but not too far out :D

Fat floats, muscle typically won't, and bone doesn't either.  It's a density thing.  Very scrawny people and very muscular people don't tend to stay at the surface without putting in some effort.  Your legs don't have enough lard on 'em to act as floatation devices, good.  You're meant to be swimming, not floating.

Wheezing is probably something you should talk to a doctor about, but it is not abnormal to feel breathless at some points during and/or after exercise.  How long you can go before you cross the line from slight panting to gasping like a beached fish depends on a number of factors including but not limited to your overall stamina, which you can improve by pushing those endurance limits.  Oh, and if you're fool enough to smoke (not judging, I do), do not smoke just before you exercise.  Your strength and stamina will go straight down the crapper if your blood isn't sufficiently oxygenated, and smoking is a good way to ensure it won't be no matter how you're breathing.

I'm assuming you're getting at least some reasonable amount done before you start wheezing.  If this is happening pretty close to immediately, like just walking a short distance triggers it, you might be suffering Congestive Heart Failure.  It seems unlikely, but it's probably worth talking to a doctor about anyway, just in case.

I had asthma as a kid, if that helps(6 years old when I stopped getting medicated). Doubt it's Congestive Heart Failure though as i've had this problem to easily wheeze in my whole life.

But how come my legs will always sink, especially when I try to lay on my back in the water? Most of my friends can do it, even 'The really scrawny ones' :/

Edit: I do smoke, but only when someone actually offers me one. Too lazy to ask, and don't want to owe someone any... and don't want to waste 50 crowns :P

Genetics. Some people have naturally strong (muscular) legs. It's not that strange a concept.

As for breathing, there are tons of breathing exercises you can do. Try meditation exercises if you just don't want to do cardio/respiratory improvement (like jogging, for instance). You can also eventually pace your breathing with your heart rate as much as possible. When I run, I make sure to consciously breathe as slowly as possible, in through the nose and out through the mouth, as long as possible. I've gotten seemingly great results with it--it's something you have to work at though. Perhaps also look up something called "circular breathing;" I cannot do that, but I've heard great things.

As far as boxing is concerned, you will never, ever go pro if you can't breathe. Period. I'm sorry if that bothers you, but it's true. It doesn't help that you haven't been actively training since a young age. I feel that I can be blunt and say this because I trained and taught boxing when I was younger. It's a truly great hobby to have and I 100% endorse you getting into it, but it's probably time to look more into secondary education than a pro boxing career.

Oh, back to breathing again real quick, as I thought of something... Do you like metal or punk? You can try screaming a lot. Seriously. I did a lot of that when I was playing in a band actively, and it DOES work. If you have nowhere you can do that, just use a pillow. Laugh if you want, but it's been proven effective.

P.S.-Smoking of any kind won't help, especially if you enjoy smoking marijuana on a regular basis--marijuana has a shitload of tars in it.

Nothing that offers any drugs 'cept nicotine. I can't either go a pro boxer in Sweden either, since it's even stricter than Am-Boxing, and only four rounds are availible while inside of Sweden, but AM doesn't interest me that much. Jogging seems to not improve my breathing cappabilities, since it's a forced act on myself subconsciously to just breathe when I need to. Can't even notice it sometimes.

Edit: I've jogged ALOT, about 4miles a week, nothing improved. The only thing that happened was the numbness in my legs slightly going away and while sprinting the only thing that I could notice there was that I didn't get as easily stiff in my legs mid-sprint.

You didn't respond to the other ideas I offered up, such as meditation or yelling, but I'm just going to say that jogging 4 mi/week is not considered a lot. At all. You need to have a strenuous routine and stick to it. Keywords there are "stick to it." You'll never get better if you just complain about it. If you want it, my friend, you must work!  :P
