Hey, I have -no- troubles with people copying my game system. Or anything. Not that i'm saying this is a copy. Just looks similar. And thats okay!

It looks fun. I'm totally in.
It looks similair, because it is(It's a modification on a system that was based on what I knew of yours, and it somehow ended up being way to similiar. The entire magic system should help with that though.). However, 2 things. The traits are aspects of the base. You can fight alongside your minions as a standard ability. Just don't get yourself killed.

Reserving. Also, to prevent text-eating, use Lazarus, padawan. (unless you're using heretical browser that isn't Firefox. In which case you deserve it)

Can I get an archetype with some kind of werecreature or elemental minions?
A werecreature is definitively possible. (Special abilities every four turns?) As for elemental minions. Sure, there's even an entire magic subbranch dedicated to that.

Also, I'm using IE. So,..

Name: Aranath the Righteous
Archetype: Wizard
Race: Naga (Able to sense infrared at close range).
Infamy: No
Money: 2000
Resources: 100
-----
Minions: (3/5)
2 Regulars
1 Apprentice
-----
Base:
Description: The long-abandoned ruins of a stone castle, once the seat of a count's estate. It is a few days' ride away from a port town, and has some scattered villages relatively nearby.
Traits:
Coming soon.
-----
Bio coming soon.
Points to the sign stating Evil wizardy. Though you can play a goal justify the means good guy if you want.

And now I should start writing up the plot.

Alright, IF the traits are for your lair, then I have edited my application to include this.

I suppose yes. Some kind like merchant. Starts with double money, and nets you a guard to start of with?

Also
@IronyOwl. The cost restriction is total. Not individual. Nevertheless, I'll need to balance the traits first.

Damn!

Oh well. Maybe I can have one installed later.

Oh, but does that mean each trait is a flat 1k, or can you have more expensive traits like that?

You're a wizard. Reactivating a volcano should be NO GREAT FEAT.
Or maybe it will be, but all the greater rewards for it.

True enough. Then again, so should opening a pit to Hell. Or conquering the world. Or just about anything else I'm never going to get around to because I go out in a wave of eels.

I REGRET NOTHING

I SHALL PLAY AS GOOD! History will remember my character as Good, and a valiant cleanser of Evil.

I shall make sure of it.

0 meter. Though it may be quite a bit farther when Irony executes his plans.

Edit: Sleeping now, finished the OP some more, will do the rest tomorrow.

Anyway, I finished most of the systems, but I'm having problems with the research system. There are basically, 3 choises:

A: Copy Terenos's system.
B: Have the players make up the techs they want to research, then balance things on the fly. Basically the same system as used in the space race. It allows for casting half finished spells and stuff.
C: Combine A and B. Players are stuck to a hidden tech tree, but instead of fully researching one tech and then moving on to the last, they can choose to leave the spell in it's unfinished state and just moving farther along the tree.

Also, suggestions for spells are always welcome.

C or B sounds good.

Another magic school could definitely be Enchanting.

EDIT: May I suggest that the Merchant also get a trading ability. (Either that he buff the success rate of any trading actions, or that he can do it himself.) So that the starting bonus do sent get eaten up after a few turns.

You stole my volcano, IO. :(

I vote B.

Also, IMO people pick Wizard because his bonuses are just plain better than the other archetypes.

Also, I don't like how we have two names for the same race (naga and gorgon). Maybe we should consolidate them?

Trading in resources is always succesfull, trading between players might not be. A bonus to player trading actions seems sensible though.

I clarified the bonusses a little, but the wizard doesn't nessecerially needs to be the better archettype. Sure he's good in the beginning, but so is the overlord's ability to go over the minion cap. Hero and criminal leader become better near the midgame. (Knowing what your enemy does and not being constantly harrased by the good nations on the Earth is a plus). The werecreatures bonusses are also quite good, and substantially larger then other players bonusses.

Keep in mind that your leader can participate in all missions(except research and construction, and some others I might have forgotten) by default, and can only do one mission/turn.
