In fairness, I never even said I opened the door. I said I was searching.

I naturally assumed that searching meant checking behind the doors as well. After all, they could contain exits.

Like I said in my other post, my fault, I can bee a bit vague. I was thinking the kind of search that involved a roll, though.

No worries, I kinda wanted to make a new rogue anyway. Besides, I can't complain too much, I'm having way too much fun for that.

I'm clearly gonna have to be a lot more specific when I say what I do, since when I speak vaguely I wind up walking straight into a trap.
Name: Wall II
Class: Rogue Trap Roomba
Gender: Male
Weapon: 12 throwing knives
Items: Grappling hook on a rope, Lantern
I was just including it to be thorough before, but now I'm suspicious about that door to the north. I search it for traps, hidden compartments, valuables, what have you.

Wall II, the most cunning wall this side of Khorvaire, wanders over into the Tomb of Horrors for shits/giggles.

[4 + 5] However he finds nothing in or on the door to the north.

Follow down to the new hallway by the non zombie pit by the zombie pit. Examine the nice masonry nearest the door. Praise whoever did it just incase of lingering spirits.

You walk down the new hallway, admiring the handwork on the walls and praising the lingering spirits. You feel a brief, tiny spark of pride as you do so.

Following the hallway as it bends south, you see

Quote
The corridor opens into a wide room filled with silvery mists shot through with gold streamers.

Obviously the mists prevent you from seeing the exact dimensions of the room. However, from what you can see, the room seems to be part of a natural cave formation, or something like that.

Examine the hallway around the magical spear trap for exits and other traps. (and I mean check EVERYTHING down the the last brick on the walls ceiling and floor.)

[20 + 5] The hallway around the magical spear trap contains nothing of interest. Period.

"Damn this place is harsh."
look for secret doors.

[12] You find a distinct lack of secret doors.

Make a kick-ass rib-jacket out of one of the zombies.

[8] You... kinda need an actual jacket for that. Unless you can somehow tan the hides of the zombies or something.

Help search for secret doors. Use my handy dandy gem to help!

[15 + 5] Your handy dandy gem of trueseeing turns up nothing. However, your dumb, mundane hands of handiness manage to find a secret door... behind the false door in the north corridor! Ah ha!

Called it.
Search the north door for traps. If it's not trapped, open it and walk through. Lockpick it if it's locked.

Search everything past the door in the north hallway if it opens as thoroughly as I did last round Did I seriously roll a 20 on something that didn't matter? *sigh* now to hope my roll really doesn't suck this round.

The misty golden sparkler room reeks of traps. Go to the newly found door instead and just kind of loiter about.

"How many bards does it take to kill a dragon? None, they'll wait for a real adventurer to come along and kill the dragon, then sing songs about him."

Take a big breathe, hold it, and search the mist.

"Clever... Very clever..."

Before my companion opens the door, double check for traps on the secret door then make him wait until I'm well away from the door before he opens it. Then search the southern corridor for traps and secret doors with both my hands and gem.
