Actually, if I remember that correctly, I have a 1 in 10000 chance of making the nearest star going supernova with Wild Magic. And geez, man, relax. Some of us are trying to have fun.

Realize that the dungeon and GM are doing everything in their power to kill us already... we really don't need to be trying to kill eachother too. I like Wild Magic as a concept, but please save it as a novelty thing or panic button, or it'll get old really fast.

I don't think a single result on Wild Magic will resolve any problem we face; it's not something you cast to defeat a foe or overcome a challenge, and is normally used as a consequence for screwing up spellcasting under certain circumstances. The results can be funny, and might grant an unexpected advantage, but spamming something that's really only good for killing you and your teammates is... well, it's the Tabletop form of griefing, essentially.

Seriously, I do like the idea, and I think it could make a dramatic encounter or dire moment hillarious... but do you think you can save it for flavor and try to work with everyone else, rather than continually trying to hinder us all?

GNHS seems to be one of the more meatshieldy of the rogues. Probably due to his generic nature.

Eh, I survived 2 could've-been crushings, some poison, and a drop into a spiked pit. Suppose I'll invite myself to Meatshield Tea.

While we're relaxing, I'll take a moment to review what we know about this place:
- The walls of this place seem to regularly glow with Conjuration magic, no matter what room we're in.
- The Green demon mouth in the entry hall appears to eat things and glows like Necromancy.
- The walls were decorated with a wizard's library and lab, a scary monster-behind-a-barred-door fresco, and a bunch of animal-human hybrids.
- There's now a second Misty Arch with 3 differently colored gems.
- The illusionary circles in here seem to have things behind them.
- Acerak left a cryptic note for adventurers.

I'm thinking that the first bit of the note relates to the colored orbs in this room. Thoughts?

The spheres on the western wall are, from north to south:

A gold sphere held a naga above her head (obviously you came out of this one).

An orange sphere held by a mummy to cover its naughty bits.

A purple sphere held on the ground by a minotaur's cloven hoof.

A bronze sphere held by a nymph to cover her 'modesty', though it can't be very modest if she's left her chest bare like that.

A grey sphere placed on an owlbear's shoulders.

A bright blue sphere at a sahuagin's feet. If you have no clue what a sahuagin is, you're not alone. According to Google it's some kind of four-armed sea-lizard.

A white sphere above a red slaad's head. I have nothing witty here.

A turquoise sphere perched on a satyr's shoulder like one of those stereotypical devils.

A scarlet sphere held by a mind flayer where its naughty bits would be, assuming that it had any.

And finally a pale green sphere held at a Medusa's feet. Obviously this is one of those Medusas who actually have feet.

The spheres on the eastern wall are, from north to south:

A pale blue sphere perched on a werewolf's shoulder.

A silver sphere between the feet of a four-armed gargoyle. Said gargoyle looks nothing like the gargoyle statue you already found, if you were wondering, due to lack of horns and general expression of killiness.

The next four spheres were the ones shown in the graphic.

A green sphere held high above a half-orc's head.

A yellow sphere held by a falcon-man like he's competing in some sort of shot-put competition.

A pink sphere apparently held by a yuan-ti.

And bringing up the rear a black sphere in the feet of a hydra.

Not shown on the picture is a pale violet sphere on a kuo-toa's shoulder's, like he's lifting a heavy load.

A red sphere held by skeleton to hide its lack of naughty bits.

A buff sphere laying by a wizard's feet. The GM was surprised to learn that buff is a legitimate colour (it's yellow-brown if you're wondering).

And finally an indigo sphere held by a batwoman above her head like she's a cheap-knock off superhero.

To keep things simple, here's two lists. The first one shows you which spheres were illusionary but had no harm to the torch. The second one shows which ones were illusionary and harmed the torch. Sound good?

Anyway, supposing that Black is the Nightiest color... and it was an illusionary orb. Don't like the fact that it's sitting at the feet of a hydra, which is probably the scariest thing on the wall... unless you count the fact that the Scarlet Orb is covering up the Mindflayer's crotch. Staying far away from that.

I'll spike my tea with a healthy dose of brandy and finish it off, and tell Rupert the Raven to stay with GNHS outside the orb until I give a signal. With that, I put on the darkness goggles, draw a handaxe and shield, and duck (if needed?) into the Black Orb at the hydra's feet. Wish me luck, and look after Rupert if something goes awry.

Does that poem also refer to the red sphere in here? Maybe me and my fellow mages can investigate that one more closely...
