I'll put on those goggles we found, look through em, examine the demon-face and portal, then take them off and trade Midna for that brandy... Figure someone on the front line will get better use out of em.

You see nothing new with your dark-vision. Oh well, it was worth a shot. Sighing, you hand the goggles over to Midna.

Poke the end of my pole, about half a foot at most, through the portal for about a minute and pull it out again to see what's happened to the end of it.

Again, with a small 'pop', the ten-foot pole is sucked into the relief's mouth. Half expecting this, you release your grip on the pole before you can be pulled inside.

I cast Wild Magic on the slab again, this time whilst chanting litanies to some dark god of madness.

You know, I should probably limit how much you can cast Wild Magic, but it's too bloody hilarious.

I tell everyone what I found out from the detect magic spells then cast dispel on the face, getting ready to run behind some meat shields helpful allies as soon as it’s cast.

Ah, in that case it passes through the portal harmlessly. Plus you get to keep hold on your pole, with is always great.

You step into the archway, and with a gut-wrenching twist, you find yourself in a different room.

This miserable 10-foot-square iron cubicle appears to have absolutely no means of egress. It is bare of all but dust except for three iron levers (each about 1-foot long) on one wall of the chamber.

And by no means of egress the description means that you don't have a misty portal to go back through. Crap. The room itself is pretty bland as the walls and floor are made out of a single sheet of iron each, which is pretty damn impressive. Still doesn't make it less boring though. The three levers are all currently in the middle position. Judging by their shape, you can move them up or down. What to do?
