Clothing Stockpiles
« on: August 13, 2012, 04:38:09 pm »

How do clothing stockpiles work? I have read they are a finished good and that they are armor. How do I set it so that I have separate stockpiles for shirts, boots, pants, headgear, socks, etc.

Craete multiple stockpiles and only allow pants in one, footwear in another, etc.

Do I need to use a finished goods stockpile, an armor stockpile, or a mix of both

Normal clothes are finished goods. They go in the finished goods stockpile.

In the stockpile settings, under the "Finished Goods" category, there is an entry for "armor." THAT is the option that allows stuff like shirts and tunics to be stored in that stockpile- ACTUAL armor, i.e. chainmail is another category entirely.

Yes you can. Make custom finished goods stockpiles and select what you want in there under "type".

Note that in the stocks menu for finished good, chest clothing items will appear as armor for some reason. All of the clothing types are listed under finished goods.

This is actually referring to shirts, cloaks, tunics, robes, etc. Its not referring to chainmail armor or breastplates. Your real armor is under the armor entry, not under finished goods.
