((No letting her go. I was considering getting the whole party to trick and knock her out, but that'd be risking letting her escape and it seems she has just given us all the information we need. Torturing her for a few more pieces of information does not seem like it'd give us much else. What do you think?))

((Yeah, that was directed at the other players as well. And I'll try inventive after I've slept. I've had a test a couple of hours ago and I'll be studying constantly the next days up to Saturday for an even harsher one.))

((Well, as a priest and as having pretty much promised to Fleur that I would help her, I'd have to go with any option that ends up with Maria dead.))

Aegnor's voice picks up, as he walks into the room. "And yet judging by what has happened here, you let these men and women be turned into ghosts and dolls. Do you not care for them in the slightest? Even pirates wouldn't let others come to fates such as these.. Why here, why let your crew die and be warped like this?"

((Edit: Sure, no problem.))

Despite the answer, Holy shield the party!

((Studying, studying. No time for being creative for me. Maybe we get her in the low hps and put her in bondage gear? Not sure.))

"The door will remain open, but you disappoint me, Maria. There was and there is still time for you to repent. While we were searching for you in this accursed place, the wild magic-fueled doors showed us beautiful and terrible things; we saw the grim future of a world dominated by demons where gods walked the earth and fought the wicked beings after most sentient creatures had already been killed - but we also saw one that was bright and clear, where heavenly beings patrolled the streets. I am not sure if you also stumbled onto these scenes while exploring this place. We are going to make sure the first scenario never happens and work towards the bringing the second to existence while you wallow in narcissism."

"Your short-sighted, narrow-minded and ultimately selfish worldview will get you nothing in the end. Even if you get alive to the end of this day and keep on fighting, robbing and doing as you please in a desperate attempt to find comfort in cold coin, I can already see your life will still meet its end as violently as you have lived it, killed by the hand of one of your fellow criminals or by a lawman. I am not trying to preach to you about abstract feelings and spirituality, no no. What I'm saying is that you probably know deep inside as well that your lifestyle is just a desperate way to dig for gold but in the end you'll only manage to have the hole you dug as your grave."

"There is nothing you will have achieved. No one will remember you. Your existence will have been sad, and even now I pity you. Since you refuse to abandon your path to self-destruction, I suppose we may as well save you some time."

Parry-attack Maria. Unless she shows signs of listening to reason and decides to drop her weapons by some miracle. Harr harr, right.

Already with a step beyond the sanguine door, Akari's only lifeline back to the 'real' world was tugged by a most familiar and more intriguing voice than the heavenly sights before her.

"And here we meet again. Have you missed me?"

. . .Mordekhai is in love?
Turning tail, literally, Akari grabbed the sides of the door and pulled herself back, casting a  :-\ back at the passage before deciding to follow up.

The following welcoming and dialogue was not what she expected. There was the pirate who ransacked her...oh, second job in a year or so. Couple the brevity of detail with all she hears by the doorway and include the details recently seen? The mix was not of virtuous design. There were a lot of questions left unanswered, and she was unsure where Mordekhai even started with his line of questioning. Until she remembered that conversation on the bridge.

The situation showed the heavy toll a decision would make, and she would have to ignore those trivial emotions which could tip the balance of thought and choice one way or another.

Maria was a pawn. A beautified and glorified pawn, set with shortcomings and easy solutions of the coin, but a pawn nonetheless.

With a twitch of her tail and a painful reminder of how far it would go to bring down a pawn of that calibre, Akari decided to let the weight of Mordekhai's words sink in for a bit as she peeked through the door; the kitsune gripped her staff and chose to allow more room for...'consideration.'

Run up close and try to dodge any kinds of environmental hazards until I can get into a position to apply Dragon's Breath to the abomination to the west of the group, hopefully giving collateral fire to the Pirate's holdings--those sacs.

((@Tiruin: I don't think Akari should expose herself too much. Maybe try to destroy the abominations that are closer to the group instead of the ones that'll help us kill Maria.))

Zealots and Demons, The Fall of a God, Turn 113: e is for elf, which Aegnor is!

Zealots and Demons, The Fall of a God, Turn 113:  e is for elf, which Aegnor is!

Quote from: Tiruin (initiative=95)
Run up close and try to dodge any kinds of environmental hazards until I can get into a position to apply Dragon's Breath to the abomination to the west of the group, hopefully giving collateral fire to the Pirate's holdings--those sacs.

[1]  You run into position but a burst of blood shoots into your eyes, blinding you and disrupting your concentration.  [5] You wipe your eyes clean quickly and [6] quickly try to catch the place on fire, however this only seems to awaken the abomination nearest you.

Quote from: Maria (initiative=93)
Shoot the tin can, both guns.

[1] Attempting to fire the caster pistol first it explodes in a poison cloud in her hand.  "GODS DAMNED SNAKE!  IF YOU'RE STILL ALIVE I'M GOING TO FEED YOU TO YOUR OWN DAMN FREAK CHILDREN!"  She doesn't seem to be in the mood for any further conversation. [6]  She attempts to fire her other gun at Mordekhai, however the quickly dissipating poison fog throws off her aim and she hits the wall behind the crusader.

Quote from: Ochita (initiative=86)
"And yet judging by what has happened here, you let these men and women be turned into ghosts and dolls. Do you not care for them in the slightest? Even pirates wouldn't let others come to fates such as these.. Why here, why let your crew die and be warped like this?"

Despite the answer, Holy shield the party!

[5] [5x2=10 damage]  It's pretty clear Maria is committed to dying here at this point, thankfully you've now shielded the party, she won't be able to do nearly as much thanks to your handiwork.

Quote from: Kael A.I. (initiative=66)
Attack Maria

[1]  Kael sort of stands there still trying to take in how a room like this can even exist.

Quote from: lawastooshort (initiative=38)
Enter the room and thrust attack Maria.

[5] ([2]+[2]+1x2=10 damage)  You and Fleur seamlessly blend into the shadows, appearing behind Maria.  While Fleur isn't able to land her attack, you manage to hit Maria in the kidneys.

Quote from: Caellath (initiative=26)
Parry-attack Maria. Unless she shows signs of listening to reason and decides to drop her weapons by some miracle. Harr harr, right.

[5] [3+1+1=5 damage]  You run forward, the poison now clearly evaporated and wrap the chain of your flail around one of her hands, forcing her to drop her now ruined Caster pistol as well as smashing the business end of your flail into her hand, taking it out of commission.

Quote from: Fleur (initiative=18)
Stab Maria in the back.

[6]  Fleur appears behind Maria as well, however, due to Tikan's attack is unable to land a proper attack against Maria.

Aegnor watched as the poison cloud engulfed Maria, and sighed. His concentration on her was broken when he saw Akari get spat on with blood, along with one of those.. Abominations lurching as if awake. Gripping his staff, he ran towards the monster. "Akari, watch out!"

Run at the Abomination that is near Akari, and Thrust attack it.

((I don't think it's anti-climactic. It's only fair she's already been a bit banged up by the time we get here.))

"I forgive you. May you reflect upon your mistakes before it all ends." Mordekhai says in the usual odd way that deeply faithful people talk to their not-so-faithful interlocutors before smashing their head in with a flail. He takes a split moment to glance back at the team. "Be careful!"

Normal attack at Maria, heal anyone in the team who needs healing.
