Zealots and Demons, Turn 76:  Ejected from Prison

Quote from: Caellath
Ask Fleur, wait around for Aegnor and Kael to appear.
Quote from: Tiruin
she asked, trying to divert attention away from her mistake...nonchalantly.
Quote from: lawastooshort
stopping looking around and instead distractedly staring at the sky rather than any passersby.

[4]  "Another?  'Zere was only 'ze one to my knowledge.  It took me quite some time to find you, much less Monsieur Aegnor and Monsieur Kael.  As for 'ze getting split, I was in a bad position and had to run or we all would 'ave been laying in a gutter somewhere." she responds as you wait.  You wonder what is taking them so long.

[2]  Fleur eyes you strangely.  "No, I do not wear perfume.  It does not serve any purpose in either of my lines of work.  Why are you so interested?"

[1]  You look up at the sky and see the dark clouds.  Of course it's too cold to rain but you forget that in your assessment, as it is still the middle of Spring in your mind, however, it never rains at this high of an altitude.  As soon as you say it, a giant snowflake lands on your head.  That didn't take long.  When you say Fleur smells nice she just looks at you as if trying to determine whether or not the wild magic has affected you in some way.

Roll a bluff check

[3] "That IS who I was working for, no sense in hiding it." he says.  You see something flare up in his eyes for a moment before dying back down, reminding you that you're dealing with someone whose ancestors had been corrupted by the demons at some point.  "And why, because they paid me well to get close to their stuff and figure out how it worked and then sketch the designs down."

[4] The two guards make it down the stairs and look around, and then at the chest, and then listen to your explanation.  You are certain they are going to drag you off the whole time you're speaking, but then as you finish, one of them nods, somewhat strangely a bulky human female.  You're not used to seeing them in Zealot's Army yet.  "Guess those requests finally got through.  You have to tell me now though, how did they use that Tarot deck, I've been waiting for a month to deliver that scumbag to Bastion's lock-up.

You straighten your robes out, before saying.  "My findings will be in the report, I must think further on them to make sure I understand everything I've seen."

"Yeah yeah, sometimes these rules seem excessive, but I know they're necessary.  Well, you and your friend should be leaving then, I'll escort you out." she says, the other guard continuing on the patrol now.  You try to come up with some reason to protest, but you really can't, not after that lie you told that just saved your bacon.

She goes and grabs Kael as well before escorting you completely out of the building.  You see Fleur and everyone else waiting for you outside.  You have just a moment to discuss your plan of action with Kael before Fleur can overhear you.

((Oh thank god nothing too bad happened.))

Aegnor looked at Kael, and then at fleur. "I'll ask her something that she should know, before we entered the wild magic zone."

Once fleur and the others had arrived, Aegnor looks into his potion kit, and then turns to fleur.
"Fleur, you wouldn't happen to remember what I used to make my wild magic protection potion, would you?"

"Same mob? Hadn't you lost the first one?" Mordekhai asked Fleur with a confused expression before turning to Kael and Aegnor and waving towards them. "Hello there, friends. I can see you did not wait for me."

He smiled, but seemed mightily disappointed at them at the same time.

"I'll be ready to strike and capture her if she cannot answer. Be ready." Kael answered quickly before waving at the approaching group.

"Hello! We decided to move quickly while we had the chance, the guards let us in thankfully and I think we got what we needed." He replied, eyeing up Fleur discreetly as she approached, waiting to pounce.

Prepare to strike if Fleur cannot answer, try my best to capture her alive.

The crusader seemed on the verge of frowning, but didn't. "Oh, fine then. Let us move back to the tavern to talk then? Or at least somewhere a bit further from the tower."

Move with the team a bit away from the tower if such is accepted, otherwise, just stay and wait until they do something.

[3]  "What?  I do not remember what you put into your potions, to be 'onest I do not sit around watching everyone like a 'awk all 'ze time.  I do remember you spitting into 'zem though in a most unorthodox fashion.  I could 'ave got you some water you know.  Now it is my turn to ask 'ze questions, why did you throw 'zat bottle or whatever it was in such a way to force us to break apart?  Why did you and Monsieur Kael not follow after and try to get 'zem off of me, or at least make sure I was alright?  Your faith in my skills is appreciated, but you could 'ave at least put some effort into trying to find me."  She seems rather angry about the whole leaving her behind thing, and that you are interrogating her for (to her knowledge) no good reason.

[4] "Maybe 'zose two did, I had some of 'zem chasing me all over until I managed to... convince 'zem 'zat it was not in their interests."

((And then this is probably true Fleur.))

The crusader rose an eyebow before turning to Aegnor, apparrently disappointed at their behavior.

"Is this true? You left miss Fleur to fend for hersel-Wait." Mordekhai said, now positively confused. "Aegnor, back at that tavern, hadn't you lost the first mob? And I do remember you being with her there."

"Ah.. Sorry Fleur, I.. Should have done something else..." Aegnor hung his head low, thinking of how badly he could have handled everything.

When Mordekhai got confused, he raised his head. "That we had. Fleur, I asked you that question because me and kael believe that there's a false fleur going around."

Kael sighed in relief and visibly relaxed some, though he was watching the area around them closely.

"I am afraid that he's right. We meet a physical copy of ya, one that went to the tavern with us, and I only realised it when we were travelling to the tower. We got lucky that she didn't realise that I was onto her.

Also, I am very sorry that we didn't come after ya but I would only have brought more trouble after us, what with me looking like this and we trusted in your skills and abilities to handle things. There was also the fact that they were only innocent people who are sick from the wild magic and that it wasn't the right thing to kill them when they didn't know what they were doing, and both Aegnor and I agree on that."

Kael bowed his head and shuffled a bit in shame nonetheless before looking back up to the group again.

"Anyway, we managed to get what we were looking for and I've found out some interesting things. The diary we were sent after has building plans inside it from a company called Telveron Engineering for some kind of device, of what purpose or function I have no idea. Naturally these plans were stolen for someone else, who I have yet to find out from the prisoner who stole them. I cannot ask him who they are in the immediate future because Aegnor made a mess of things, but I think I have a way of getting him to answer me and he's not going anywhere soon."

"Well~ I was smelling you just to know your scent...It's a...thing I have." Akari chirped in, addressing Fleur. "And physical copy? You guys can conjure those up too? I think I've heard of them once- I guess. But aren't we supposed to be aiming for that book-thing for the information for the finding of Maria now?"

"So...Are you going to deliver the diary to the shady organization?" Mordekhai asked, resuming his pace. "I am warning you beforehand I am not taking part in these negotiations, I'm sorry. It just...goes against what I believe in."

Follow team, but stay out of any shady negotiations they have with the followers of the God of Knowledge. Add: Tie a strip of blue cloth to Fleur's right wrist if allowed.

"I have the diary with me in a safe place, we can go deliver it now if ya think that's the best idea. I personally think we should just get it out of the way so we can focus on more important things." Kael replied, still checking their surroundings. That copy could be anywhere...

"OK...so Kael already has the diary?" Akari looked back and forth from the troll to Mordekhai, to Fleur with her mouth slightly agape in confusion. "Err...why aren't we heading back to that guy in that tavern now?"

"Girl." Aegnor automattically said, before turning to Akari.
"Although I don't the fact that she's a girl should change anything, and if we meet the copy of fleur, we should have something to distinguish the two..."

As the party travels to the tavern, think over what importance the diary could have.
