"I can't tell you why He's interested in you. The God of Knowledge's domain encompasses secrets, as well, and none play their cards so close their vest as He does. All I know is that I was told you and your allies were heading this way to find a... certain person." Fasha adjusted her shawl. "We Whisperers listen and report to the Voices, who in turn bring information to our God for His library. As agents of the Voice, we watch. We wait. We learn things, and sometimes we trade the information we learn for gold or favors. From where the local lord likes to eat, to what the carpenter's favorite flower is... all knowledge is power, and quite the currency if you know who wants it."

She waved away his comment about questions. "If you don't question, you'll never learn, Aegnor. Although, there are many things I haven't told you, nor will I. All knowledge is power, and some power is best left to those our God can trust with it, or forgotten entirely. Is there anything else you wish to ask of me before we get down to business?"

"Can't because you won't, Or can't because you cannot?" Shaking his head and waving away the question. "I believe we should get down to business, I assume you're going to somehow tell us the path to our.. Person, or something that will help us get to said person."

"Indeed I will. For a price." Fasha folded her hands on the table. "Nearby is an old watch tower that was converted into a prison. There's an inmate there, an As'Ci'Til, who was carrying a journal when he was arrested. My people want that journal. How you get it is up to you and your compatriots. When you bring it back, I will tell you where the female pirate is." Fasha shrugged. "Of course, you could look for her on your own, but wouldn't it be faster - and easier - to fulfill my request?"

Aegnor nods, and decides to relax slightly.
"Okay. I believe that's possible. Do you want the As'Ci'Til to live as well? I mean a journal is all nice and good, but an actual person would contain more information. Nether the less, I will try to get that journal."
Dragging his chair out, he stands up, and clears his throat.
"Oh, and for your information, that blue eye-shadow goes well with your eyes, although its not a good choice if you're deciding to go incognito."

Turning round and starting to leave, he sees Mordekhai looking at Kael. The fact that he was decked out in armor kinda helped. Looking back at Fasha, he raises an eyebrow, shrugs, and heads off towards him, waving slightly.

Kael watched Aegnor get up and leave the woman and start waving at someone. Turning to see, he realises who it is and turns casually to Fleur.

"Listen, unless ya want the others in the hospital to help ya with finding this pirate and find out about yourself, ya may want to leave now."

(Kael does not in fact see Aegnor get up and leave. There's a reason Mordy's group didn't notice him and Fasha upon entering. :P)

"It is your choice if you want to find the As'Ci'Til, kill him, spring him, bribe the guards for his journal, sneak in and find it without alerting anyone... But rest assured we will know what your choice is. Whisperers are everywhere. You'll only see us if we want to be found... like now." She tilted her head in acknowledgement of his compliment. "Thank you. To be honest I thought it would draw the attention of your troll friend, rather than you." She pulled the chair back as he left, and suddenly she didn't seem to be there any more.

On the other side, Fleur shrugged. "I do not know why they wish to make my business theirs. But they must already know if they have somehow tracked us here." She watched Aegnor wave to Mordekhai and walk toward him. "We will see, monsieur Kael, what they want shortly."

Turning round and starting to leave, he sees Mordekhai looking at Kael. The fact that he was decked out in armor kinda helped. Looking back at Fasha, he raises an eyebrow, shrugs, and heads off towards him, waving slightly.

Mordekhai waves back, extending his large and armored hand for a friendly handshake during which he doesn't put too much strength. "Good to see you, Aegnor. How are the matters so far? We got in combat with rabid mutants looking for an armored troll and got out of it with a few bruises and cuts." the crusader says, nodding towards Akari.

He grins, his gaze on Kael. "I suppose he was the armored troll and you also had some trouble to escape from or fight through."

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Aegnor happily parcipitated in the friendly handshake, reaching out to give Mordekhai a friendly pat on the shoulder. Noticing the new knicks and knocks on his armor, along with slight damage to Akari and a bit of bruising to Mordekhai himself.
"Well, I've just talked to an elvish woman who has agreed to tell us information to find maria. As long as we get her a journal from an As'Ci'Til in the watch tower, which is now a prison."

Taking a small breath, he also remembered. "Oh, and me, Kael, and fleur were chased by a mob. And now the god of knowledge is interested in us, which worries me. The fact that he told the woman who I just spoke to our names as a group, means that we're going to be in interesting times."

Mordekhai unlocked his visor, raising it and looking into Aegnor's eyes. "I really don't like the idea of obtaining information for others that way. If they are a group connected to a 'god of knowledge', then they'll probably get what they want sooner or later, with or without or help."

The crusader sighed and reclined on the chair, which creaked due his weight and the added load of his armor. "We could talk about it, but I'd rather avoid those shady dealings. I've been to the watch tower, and we'd either need a silver tongue to get past the guards or fight through them. The guards appear to be honest people, and...Well, you know me."

"The risks do not seem worth the reward. Our next stop for information-gathering would be the airship dock. Do you want to get that journal or use it only as a last resort?"

"...And could you please heal Akari?"

"Hi Aegnor!" Akari said upon seeing the Elf, she then turned towards the tavern sign and wondered on what was inside.

She tapped Mordekhai's right pauldron. "I don't suppose this is one of those places which you've entered before? Why isn't Aegnor all reddish? Anyway, I figure I've got something to help..."

Blow that whistle I had before unless anyone has an idea of what to do.

((I'm all for that Enchantment mana expenditure.))

(We haven't reached a decision about enchantment yet. And I totally forgot about your dog whistle, I'll add it to your inventory in my notes and it'll be there starting next turn.)

Tikan curtly but amiably greeted the others.

"Although I'm inclined to agree, Mordekhai, we should also weigh up the idea of going against ones who already seem to be in a position of strength against us, knowing so much about us as they appear to... Will refusal turn a powerful foe against us? Or will acceptance gain a strong ally? But I too am not keen on turning those prison guards we saw to a way of crime... They seemed honest men, and we must either fight them or corrupt them, unless some of us can get in entirely unnoticed..."

"-and by something to help, I meant I have this."

Akari read that book that was conveniently in her inventory which she had forgotten all about instead of getting that whistle which-she-could-not-strangely-hear.

"I'm going with the cutthroat here. She has a good idea of what to do - stealth in and let nobody know we were there.

"Hmm, reminds me. I cooked up something."
The Kitsune showed the rest what else was in her pack, including those pellets. "Smoke pellets. Think we can distract the guards with a pseudo-fire?"

(@la: ...I'm going to have to ask both you and Cael where you got the idea the prison guards were honest men, considering I was attempting to play them like minor heels such as Bulk & Skull. >.>)
