Check out the surroundings and then see if that trapdoor is locked.

(3, 5) Kael didn't really see anything special from this vantage point. No pursuers, and no landmarks. Well, some dilapidated watchtower off in the distance, but it's totally not relevant at all to current events and it would probably be a total waste of time to go over there. Never mind that there's an awful lot of open ground between here and there. After synchronizing the map taking a look around, Kael walked over to the trapdoor and, with a simple tug, opened it easily. There was about fifteen feet of empty space between it and the floor; presumably, this was for an attic which hadn't been built yet. They could probably drop down to the second floor and find a way down, if they chose.

Aegnor nodded, as Kael opens up the trapdoor. Deciding that jumping down was a bad idea, he decides to drop down from hanging onto the edge of the trapdoor, preparing himself for the fall.

Go down the trapdoor, in a way to minimize the fall distance.

Drop down after him, making sure he's out of the way first.

((What's the meaning of :V ?))

((Tikan noticed Mordekhai's signal just in time before going to bed, and regretfully decided not to stab an immobilised man's eyes out. She wondered, for some unknown reason, if she should try to wield her knife with her mouth, but thought better of it.))

Thrust into the back of green-fur's neck instead!
((Yay! :D))

(I'll try to get a turn for this up later today, but - Caellath knows about this, anyway - my toothache is acting up worse than normal today and I just really don't feel like writing at this moment. I'm going to take a shower and lie around and watch TV for awhile, and if I feel better I'll see about it.)

Zealots & Demons, Turn 66: Order 66?

Just wait for that SSI to turn green.

Aegnor moved so that he hung from the edge of the opening, then dropped down into the second floor of the building. (1+1. 6, so that cancels out, lucky you.) He landed and took a step to move out of the troll's way... and stubbed his damn toes on a sledgehammer that just happened to be there! While he was hopping around and cursing his rotten luck, Kael dropped down in a similar fashion. (4+1) Used to such athletics in his line of work, the troll landed smoothly, knees flexing to take the force of the impact. After making sure the elf was going to be OK, the pair headed downstairs and looked out the windows. No pursuit. It looked as if Fleur really had done a good job of leading them off.

Now it was time to decide where to resume their search. Did they want to try to find their way back to their starting point, explore the surrounding area, or just wander about and hope to stumble across a clue leading to Maria's location - or Fleur for that matter?

First, cast Heal on Akari. Then, swing the thurible at Blade-Tail's legs to trap them, trying to hit his ribs with the flail afterwards.

Get up and attack Tikan! Unless Akari goes first and fails her spell, in which case, shift aggro to her and attack.

Bleed out.
(Battle initiative order: Akari, Tikan, Blade-Tail, Green-Fur, Mordekhai, Spider-Eyes)

"Hey Green Fur! Look at me and fight me, you coward!" Akari taunted him. (5. 5x2=10 damage, Green-Fur is Terrified and loses his turn. -6 Mana) The man's eyes went wide and he immediately curled into the fetal position, his arms covering his head as he tried to look as small and harmless as possible, gibbering in fear the whole time. Tikan took the opportunity to try and stab him in the back of the neck. (4. 4+2+1=7 damage, Green-Fur is Bleeding. -4 Energy) The blade didn't sink as far as she would have liked, given his thick fur, but it certainly did enough damage that the man yelped in terror and tried to scoot away while still on his side.

Ignoring his buffoonish companion, Blade Tail struck at Mordekhai again, his tail stabbing in for a weak joint in his armor. (4. 4+2+2-3=5 damage, Mordekhai takes two bleeding damage next round. -4 Energy) The blade struck true and hit Mordekhai firmly in the shoulder, drawing blood and knocking the crusader back. Meanwhile, Green-Fur continued to scoot away and look for an escape route. (6) He settled on crawling into the shadow of a barrel and trying to act like he wasn't there. Also ignoring something, albeit both his opponent and his wound, the crusader attempted to heal Akari. (4. 2, -4 Mana) Distracted as he was by the attack, it was admirable that he was able to pull off the spell, however weak the effect turned out to be. Next, he returned his focus to Blade-Tail. (2. 4, 3+1 damage) The man leaped over his swing of the thurible, but he was far less successful in avoiding the incoming flail. It crashed against his chest, knocking the wind from his lungs and forcing him to stumble back lest he fall over.

Not that anyone was paying attention, but Spider-Eyes quietly bled out in the mud.

Blade-Tail: 14/21 HP, 4/8 Energy
Green-Fur: 13/30 HP, 15/15 Energy, takes two bleeding damage next round
Spider-Eyes -1/19 HP, 12/12 Fatigue

Zealots & Demons, Turn 66: Order 66?
((Dat SC and his creative Titles. :P

Editing for action, but Green-Fur has 30/30 Health?))

Also:
((What's the meaning of :V ?))

Terrify @ Blade-Tail, then keep at a position where I can see Green-Fur from a distance.

Akari spun on her heel to face the next enemy, hoping to keep sight of the first as she conjured another image of what she would love for the latest foe to see.

I wonder how it feels for them to gaze into my mind?

Sareesa, Age Thirteen

"'Ey 'dere sleepy head.  'Dis be no time for sleepin', it be yah big day." said Sentinal until she groaned signifying she ways awake.  "Don't be soundin' so pleased.  Mom has yah breakfast cookin' and dad be preparin' yah costume, don't be keepin' 'dem waitin' too long ya?" he said leaving Sareesa some privacy.  It was a small but separate room.  If there had been more female children, they probably all would have lived in there, but it was just Sareesa, Sentinal, their mother, Va'Ni, and father, Rul.

The room was simply furnished, a bedroll with thin sheets over it dyed a light green color.  A small dresser in the corner filled with clothes and assorted knick-knacks.  A small box sat on top of the dresser with some necklaces in it made from small beads and trophies from different animals, usually teeth.  Sareesa rolled her bed up and placed it into the corner giving her more room as she discarded the garments she slept in and put on new clothing, a simple top with shorts.

She hurried downstairs after getting dressed where Va'Ni had already prepared breakfast, strangely, Sentinal was no where to be found.  As she ate Va'Ni sat down next to her.  "I remembah 'dis day from my youth.  Today, ya become a membah of our tribe, ya become one of us.  Ya not be a Troll, an I know 'dat troubles ya sometimes... but ya know, after today, ya be 'da same as any of us.  We all be watchin' 'da others back."  she says, having a rare intimate moment in a house normally concerned so deeply with it's duties.  "Yah dad an' I, we both be very proud of 'da woman you be." Va'Ni finished, hugging her daughter from the side as she ate.  The rest of breakfast passed in relative quiet, neither party wanting to ruin the moment.  After Sareesa finished her breakfast, Va'ni said "Now go, ya don't want ta be keepin' yah fathah waitin'."
