((From where I came from, a gun to the face is generally a good way of helping convince people to back down, but I get the crazed mob idea. Anyway, remember me to spank Tiruin for not following us due to that action...And you're also in for a spanking due to your interpretation of his action. I hope we are getting anything out of this.))

"My armor is pretty characteristic and I seriously doubt there is someone with one like mine, but I don't think there is much mental acuity to be expect from you lot." He was speaking the truth, obviously, since his mentor's armor was different from most of the crusaders.

What a grave offense towards his honor he had inflicted...Not. "Anyway...I am very sorry for you, gentlemen."

Enter combat. Attack the man with the bladed tail from both sides with a closing sweep from both flail and thurible.

((Now we need Tikan and Akari into the fight.))

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Akari's eyes glinted with hate as she was shoved around, ending with them now threatening Mordekhai.

They dared hurt her even after she tried to help them? On a damn hunch?!

Oh that's it.

Dragon's Breath on the trio.

(@Cael: If anyone's doing any spanking it would be me as the interim general manager here, and that's only going to happen in the other RTD all three of us are in IYKWIM. :P As for what you're getting out of this, I'm not going to tell you about any potential loot BEFORE you kill these guys, I mean, jeez. Also, crazed. I don't think they would much care if you had shoved a minigun in their face. :P

@Ochita: Sorry, I thought Aegnor's text was orange for some reason. ^^^; I'll fix it to brown here in a moment. Anyway, miniturn for you.)

There was indeed a window large enough for a man to go through, although Aegnor could barely see it. At one end of the catwalk was a room - well, really more of a partition, as the walls facing into the warehouse were only three feet tall - and set into one of the walls there was a good sized window. Kael would have to squeeze if they went that route, but the troll could probably manage it.

@Serious: Its fine, easy mistake to make anyway. :P

Aegnor slightly hmm'd and slowly pointed kael towards the window. "I think we need to find my friends, and going on the rooftops will help us."

get out onto the rooftops!

Kael hmm'd as he looked at the window.

"Going to be a tight squeeze, but alright! We can find the assassin from the rooftops and hide in the sewers later."

Through the window it is! Get moving!

((sorry, I was asleep – upon reading I didn’t really want to do all that talking business, I wanted to slit their throats whilst they were facing Akari and finish it nice and quick…))

Pick on the weakest/most damaged/most prone enemy, thrust to their throat.

(It's too late for me to run the turn tonight, but how about I give you a stealth roll when I do run the turn - to make up for timezone issues - so you have a chance to at least injure one before the fight starts, la?)

((That'd be nice, but then if Caellath wants to talk and be a bit nicer than just slitting their throats that's ok (and it would fit his character better and he is putting his character across more and better, so it's only fair) - he wouldn't really be able to have that conversation if I knifed one of them first ;) I'll be happy with opportunistically and efficiently finishing off the first one who seems vulnerable.))

(I can always lampshade it as they were never even paying attention to Tikan, and while they were talking she sneaked around... if she gets a good roll, of course. :P)

((That sounds appropriate to me, though be sure to include a roll to make see if she gets hit by the cone if appropriate to the battlefield situation))

Before the Ascension

"You have to accept it Sareesa, their is no other explanation.  The crystal only will charge when it comes in contact with mana.  You are a being more mana than flesh.  You are a wellspring of mana... an avatar of energy.  Whatever you are, you can't be human like we thought."

"No, you're wrong, I'm a human, what else could I be?  I am a human."

"This explains everything though, how you are so proficient with magic.  Even how you were able to control your mana with no formal training.  Sareesa, this is a gift, you're beyond human, you are energy incarnate."

"No. No!  I can't be! Sareesa yells running out of the now darkened classroom.  It had been a week since she found the crystal, and ever since then Varsus had been running tests trying to determine why the crystal reacted the way it did, what Sareesa's nature might be.  She wished she had never stepped on the damn thing now.

Sareesa ran out into the middle of the forest and collapsed into a small pile.  There away from everyone she started to cry, all of her dreams, her hopes had been stolen with Varsus's announcement.  She cried, mourning the future that might have been, now lost if what he said was true.

As she sat there, wishing she could just disappear and not face reality, Sareesa felt a cold, armored hand come down on her shoulder.  "'Ey 'dere, why yah be cryin' little sista'?  I thought yah be happy here, learnin' all about yah magic.  Why yah be out here all alone?" said a caring voice very familiar to her.

"Senny!  You always show up when I need you most! Sareesa said throwing her arms around the Troll and embracing him, holding him close.  Sentinal hugged his adopted sister back.  Her shoulder rested on his shoulder as he gently patted her back, comforting the distraught girl.  Eventually she answered his question.  "They... they think that I'm not human.  They think that I'm some kind of living mana or something." she explained to the troll.

"Now now, we know 'dat not be true.  After all, I never seen any mana eat as much as you do." he said trying to make Sareesa laugh, forget about the seriousness of the situation.  Still, he couldn't help but feel a pit grow in his stomach.  Hearing she wasn't human might be enough for some people.  Sentinel did his best not to show any concern for the moment though.  Sareesa was far to overloaded already to think rationally about the situation.  "Shhh, Shhh, it be okay.  Do not worry sista'.  I be here for you now.

Zealots & Demons, Turn 65: A Danger to Ourselves And Others

Give the mob the slip through unknown and mysterious means that only Assassins have. That means running forever and a day and then jumping into a haycart the second they can't see you.

Aegnor and Kael pounded up the stairs, going for that window as fast as possible. (A: 4. K: 6.) The pair made it out onto the roofs of the district, Kael not even bothering to open the window and just Juggernaughting through it like he did the door earlier. Aegnor followed, managed to avoid all the broken glass, and joined him on the flat roof of the building adjacent to the warehouse. In unspoken agreement, they ran to the edge and jumped across to the next roof, then the next, getting as far from the warehouse as possible. Eventually, though, they ran out of rooftops to jump to. The current one was flat and sat about half a story higher than the others near it. It was also under construction, although that had been abandoned with the current wild magic situation. They could get to the ground via the wooden platforms around the building, try the trapdoor near the northwest corner, hide, or just try to think of something else.

Basic Shot -> Akari
(Battle initiative order: Akari, Spider-Eyes, Blade-Tail, Mordekhai, Green-Fur, and then Tikan because la's action suggests he wants to wait and be a vulture)

(Tikan Stealth: 4+1) While Mordekhai was distracting the enemy, Tikan slipped into some nearby shadows and watched and waited. The kitsune gathered her mana into her mouth, took a deep breath, and (6. -6 mana) choked on her own spell. The fire backdrafted and not only gave her coughing fits but also inflicted (4) damage to her. Spider-Eyes saw his chance and immediately flung a heavy rock at her. (6) Unfortunately for him it slipped from his hands and the rock went straight down, crushing his toes for (4+2) damage. "%@#$%!!!" he yelled as he hopped around on one foot, holding his injured toes with his hands. Blade-Tail ignored his ally's pain and went for the crusader in front of him, whipping his tail back and forth until he spotted his moment. (3. 6+2-3/2=3 damage) The tail skittered across his armor, not actually cutting him, but dealing plenty of blunt damage.

(3. 5+1/2=3 damage) Mordekhai couldn't quite get past the range of the man's tail, but his thurible had just enough chain that he was able to graze him on the side of the head with a broad swing. Green-Fur moved to flank Mordekhai while he was occupied with attacking his leader. (1) His foot slipped in the mud and he faceplanted. Taking in the... well, absurdity of the combat before her, Tikan decided Spider-Eyes was a prime target. (4+1 from stealth. 3+2+1*2=12. 2 bleeding damage next round) She stepped in behind him while he was hopping and casually slid her knife into his liver before pushing him down into the mud.

(By the way, that was actually a good result on that Dragon's Breath. An ill-aimed one in the first Z&D killed off two members of the party. >.>)

Blade-Tail: 18/21 HP, 8/8 Energy
Green-Fur: 30/30 HP, 15/15 Energy
Spider-Eyes 1/19 HP, 12/12 Fatigue, takes two bleeding damage next round

((Yay update before I collapse!

Also, yay Akari for not being a TK-er! :D))

Blegh, I swear when I get my second tail I'll be wielding fire like a guarding ward. Ye Dragons be proud!

...

Did that taste like metal?...

Akari licked her hand for a moment to assure the lack magical contamination in her taste. Turning towards the battle, it seemed like reinforcements had arrived - Tikan and Mordekhai!

She smiled as she tried out plan Q.

"Hey Green Fur! Look at me and fight me, you coward!"

((@SeriousConcentrate: I think you didn't add my 3 Damage Reduction. If I remember correctly from V-Norrec's calculations, it would fare like this: (3. 6+2-3/2= 2.5 = 2 or 3 damage). Probably 3.))

Edit: Also, why didn't I get two attacks per the norm with the two weapons? :V

Edit2: I also happen to like the history segments.
