"...I didn't even know someone could stretch their legs like that..."

I wish I had never discovered it. Mordekhai thought back, walking a bit clumsily away from the bar. For someone with a good amount of time roaming the nights, Mord had little experience with that kind of thing.

"Ya could have just asked me to point ya in the right direction, ya know? I did check out this town to see where everything is for the lot of ya..."

Mordekhai rose an eyebrow. Was the troll inside some kind of illusion? "...Sorry, but you weren't with us and you also didn't mention anything of the sort at all."

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.
>Yes?
"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

Aegnor laid back, waiting for the others to get back. Apon hearing Fleur's question, he slightly nods.
"Well, firstly you were the person who actually got us awake, secondly.. I'm a pilgrim, helping people is what I do. While I'll admit that most people will not look on me kindly about helping the assassins guild, and while that is also making me slightly nervous about this whole thing, I've had prior experience with Maria in the past. She was on the airship, but escaped. I think a couple of friends of mine will be joining us, and they want answers from her, afterwards.. You can do what you need to."

"I see.  You are a little odd for a 'ealer, I like you despite all of it.  You accept zat zis is somezing I must do, unlike most.  It 'as been a long time since I told anybody; I am glad my instincts were correct, and zat I could trust you." Fleur says quietly, still relaxing though.  You get the feeling she is holding part of herself back, probably all part of how she copes with being an assassin.

"I'm thankful that you decided to trust me. Plus with adventuring around the world, you start to gain an interesting view-point, from many different places and areas." Aegnor nods at the end of his reply, and decides to leave the issue of fleur holding back alone. Everyone needs ways to cope.

Shrugging, Tikan reflected that contacts could always come in useful...

Ask the elf's name and then flee run out to catch up with Mordekhai and Akari...

Zealots and Demons, Turn 58:  Stuff

Quote from: Caellath
Search for the Zealots' headquarters and get some potions to protect against wild magic. Four or five, just in case.

[3]  You walk around a bit longer until you find the barracks again.  You go inside, and speak with the quartermaster.  He looks at you queerly throughout the entire process but relinquishes the potions.  You think to yourself that you better have a good cover story if you come back and talk to him again.

Quote from: Tiruin
Conjure something to ease a drunken person, when nobody is looking!

Also, hide that whistle!

[auto-fail]  You really don't know anything within your ability to conjure something to 'ease as drunken person'.  An alchemist could do it easy enough, but you aren't really up to that level yet.

Quote from: Zako
Chill with Fleur for a bit.

[6]  You make it back to Fleur's parlor and sit next to her, she scoots over politely but seems a little... off.  You strike it up to nerves, and that she and Aegnor were mid conversation when you returned.

"What is it like, being a 'ealer zat travels around?  I mean, what exactly 'as your life been like?" she asks with a seemingly genuine sense of curiosity.  It strikes you that Fleur probably hasn't left the city since she took up her life debt.

[1] You're just about to go ask the elf's name when Mordekhai grabs you and drags you along with him... damn.

Quote from: Fleur
Wait to hear Aegnor's answer

[auto-success]  Fleur shifts on the couch once Kael rejoins the group, from spread out to a more normal posture.  Inside her mind is racing with thoughts unbidden; she lets none of them show though.  She begins trying to quiet her mind and focus on the coming task instead, while waiting to hear Aegnor's reply before leaving to hunt Maria.

I knew I should've peeked into that bar to see what they were serving...

Well, at least Mordekhai is well now. All sober.

"Hey Mordekhai, what's with all the liquids? Don't tell me you've got to drink...water now." Akari included a giggle at the end, imagining what else the potions can be used for. "Anyway, did you say something earlier?" she said, looking at Tikan.

"Great, I don't think either of us wants to drink those... makeshift ones..."

Kael shifted in his armor a bit, uneasy at the prospect of working with an assassin. He knew that she had no choice in the matter, life debts were a pretty big thing after all and her target may have been responsible for the crash that claimed many lives, but the thought that someone who was so caring and working in a profession where they had to care for others was a killer... It shocked him to some degree.

"So, tell me what ya know about this... Maria? Where is she exactly? How much opposition are we facing? How did ya find out about her in the first place?"

Fleur shrugs, "We were not able to get our network inside to find 'er, so we must infiltrate and find 'er.  We suspect she is vulnerable as she has few crew members with 'er now.  Of course zere are other problems, but I am confident we can overcome them.  I was told zis was my duty, so I go."

"Ze usual in areas with wild magic, people driven mad, creatures attracted to ze mana, random illusions, crystallization of certain materials, and other magical anomalies.  It is nothing that is out of ze ordinary.  We are infiltrating ze entire contaminated area, unless you want to be marked for quarantine.  I know zat, personally, I do not."

Aegnor didn't like the sound of being marked for quarantine. If anything, that would severely hinder travelling with the group..

Responding to fleurs initial question, he thinks for a second, then responds. "My life has been very interesting, with adventures though plains, swamps, and even across the sea once. In all, I guess I was attracted by the idea of seeing the world, and helping each community that I find. There's.. A certain freedom to it all, but friends that you make are temporary, at best. Although now I feel that whatever I've been brought into, starting with buying that fated airship ticket, I'm not going my own way, it feels like I'm being brought towards a purpose."

Aegnor finishes, with some thoughts flashing though his head. He seems slightly concerned about something, but doesn't speak up again.

"What? I was not drunk." Mordekhai answers, the red tinge on his face's skin almost invisible now. "That bar had women dancing...provocatively, and I was just embarassed."

The crusader sighs deeply before going back to smile and offering one of the potions to Akari. "Here, let's move."

Find/Follow Fleur and her group, drink the potion before entering the area.

Kael nodded at Aegnor, understanding exactly what he meant.

"I know that feeling... I too, have traveled far and wide, for two years now. Never staying in the same place for too long... It's got it's perks, but it can be lonely at times..."

His head bowed down for a few moments in thought before he quickly looked back up again.

"But I'm sure you don't want to hear about that now. We've got a pirate to find! Unless you want to wait for later, let's get going."

Wait until Fleur is ready, then follow her. Drink a potion when we are about to enter the wild magic zone.
