Zealots and Demons, Turn 46: Aegnor's Unfortunate LuckAttack the Priest from the shadows, Disappear back into the Darkness.
[4] [4=4+4=8 damage] Jacelyna creeps up behind the unaware priest seeking to light the battlefield, and whispers into his ear. "
You think you can win against the holy will of our goddess?" As soon as she has said it her claws glow with a silver-white light slashing the priest across the back and shredding his robes leaving him a bloody mess clothed in rags. " [6] She disappears, again, the shadows seeming to clothe the woman as much as her own clothing. You hear the sound of something falling over in the forward-starboard area though. "
Frak!" you hear as little more than a murmur.
((Here's a rough sketch of the area where you are fighting btw.))
Try again!
[6] Ah there they are. That pain was just the motivation you needed to find the right vials. You create the potion, unfortunately it's a little bit more unstable than you intended it to be. In fact, it's about to blow! ((Status added: Ticking Time-bomb, 1 Turn until Explosion))
Stomp the copy's legs
[3] [5+1/2=3 damage] Expecting a Viceral sound of combat, you are mildly disappointed when it feels more like you are stomping on a pillow... a pillow of darkness. . . AND GLITTER! All the same you can tell you did some damage as the some of the 'solid' shadows separate from the host body.
Sabre and Dagger double strike
[2] [5] [(2+2-3)x2=2 damage] Mordekhai is on the recieving end of the Shadows own attack, unfortunately the pillow-like quality seems to have persisted, leaving the attack near useless against the armored warrior.
Leap out and thrust attack and then if possible return to cover.
[2] You leap out and try to thrust into the Shadow's form, but it's so dark you end up just stabbing at the darkness. It isn't very effective. [5] You wrap yourself in the shadows yet again, disappearing from sight.
Action: Peer out of cover-look for any sign of the Mage, shoot her with my rifle if I see her.
[3] [2+2-1/2=2 damage] You see the mage stand behind Aegnor for a few moments. You yell at him to get down, but it's too late, she's already slashed his back. You pull your rifle up just in time to get a quick shot out at her. You can't be sure if you hit her or not given the low-light and the fact she disappeared into the darkness just as quick as you would... were you in her position, you almost envy her, being able to toy with her prey like this, it must be nice.
take cover and conjure up a ball of white light.
[5] ([1]+[4]x2 = 10 damage to the shadow creature) You conjure up a ball of light and the sudden absence of shadow seems to damage the shadow who holds her 'arms' up as if to block the light from her eyes. You can see the central area clearly now, though the areas behind the ruined engine cores remain shrouded. You can't see Jacelyna directly, but it should be easier to find her now.
Enemy Stats and StatusName: Jacelyna Murrein
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Bio: Jacelyna comes from the technological wonder-city of Zalthur. There, the depravity of the masses, the wretchedness of the poor, and opulence of rich spoke to her. It told her there was a better way. For several years in her young life she tried to separate herself from the wicked masses around her, until finally, in her seventeenth year she was accepted into the Sisterhood of Sareesa. The Sisterhood provided her comfort, a home away from corruption, a place where she felt free to be herself. She studied the techniques and practices of Sareesa for two years, learning the same techniques that the goddess herself used to fight the demons she encountered. After two years, she was made a neophyte of the order. She now travels the world, meditating at the most holy sites of her goddess, seeking insight and clarity into her mind.
Description: Jacelyna Murrein is a proud young woman who carries herself confidently. Her head is always carried high and she won't let herself give into negative attitudes. She has long, brown hair, soft, caring brown eyes, pale skin, a small nose, and full, pink lips. Her bangs cover the left side of her face down to her nose. Her legs are long and even through the concealing dress you can tell she is well-endowed in both her chest, at a quick glance approximately a DD-cup, and with full hips.
She dresses modestly for a young woman, always wearing a brown dress with golden trim and a high collar. Her dress has separated sleeves allowing her arms to get a bit of air keeping her cool. The sleeves are relatively tight and end in attached white gloves that have been enchanted to keep her grip from faltering. You can catch the faint outline of magic on the back of them. Underneath the dress she has a red undershirt, also sleeveless that extends the full way up her neck.
At Jacelyna's legs, the Dress separates into four sections, a back that covers the full-width of her form down to her knees, two sides that are made out of a stiffer fabric than the rest of the dress that also end at the knees, and the front which cuts away at her lower thighs allowing you to see the twin red stockings that run up the length of her legs. The stockings are held in place by a garter belt that is completely lined with throwing knives. She is wearing brown cloth boots that extend up midway to her knee.

((I'm rolling again with real dice, anybody going to be super mad over that? Really Random.org is just giving me the worst string of numbers for turns so I'm all like, "Nah man." Also, Jacelyna is turning into a suitably climatic fight, I like it.
