Nepthym joined the rest of them-sprinting up the stairs was better than waiting for him to bring back reinforcements. They might even be able to beat him...

Too many to count. Each were as tainted as the other.


Akari gazed upon each one in turn, a heavy weight on her chest as the pirates' faces blurred into an indistinct reality of monsters. They all wanted her as a sacrifice for some reason, after obviously dealing with the innocent civilians aboard the ship no doubt.

Well, they would soon learn how she felt about that.

Nepthym skidded to a stop. She took a quick look at the enemies massed before them. She didn't see the odds of a pitched melee in her favor here. Rifles...swords...and a magic user, an Elemental Hedge Mage by the look of it. He needed to fall first, before he turned the weight of the battle against them.

She drew her gun, comforted to have it's familiar weight and power in her hands. Nepthym felt like a soldier again.

The girl fell back silent as a ghost, hoping to avoid attention or concern-and mentally prepping the distance and range of her next shot. She would have preferred a Rifle (and is she survived here, she'd certainly liberate one from these ugly mugs), but a pistol was just as good in these close quarters.

Action: Fall back under cover (I believe there's doors and rooms along the hallway we are in?), trying to avoid attention-use Snipe Shot on the Pirate elementalist from hiding if possible, unless he's terrified or dead-otherwise, snipe a Rifleman instead the same way.

((@Caellath: If you go charging in there, I suggest you try to parry/defensive mode. :P ))

Mordekhai stopped dead on his tracks, greaves finding purchase in the floor as he prepared a charging stance, rising the buckler and swinging his flail.

"Try and get me, scum!" the crusader bellowed a challenge, attempting to call their attention unto him. These men were killers of innocent. Criminals and lowly creatures, even if human on the outside, their insides were throughly rotten.

Death would set their souls free and protect Mordekhai's teammates. It was the solution.

Challenge and try to draw some of them, defensive buckler stance plus parry.

Their enemies were many, this time, and Tikan wasn't going to rush in again if she could help it. She ducked down and looked about for cover.

Get in cover from riflemen, charge out and flank (With Thrust) the first enemy to close with us and then try to get back into cover.

[2]  You duck behind a wooden trash can, you have no faith in it to save you from anything.  [2]  You poke your head out just to hear a bullet fly by, you decide that even if your trashcan can't block bullets, you would much rather be behind it.

[1] The Buccaneer apparently stressed out tries to aim for your group.  He ends up hitting one of the swashbucklers [5 damage] and nearly blowing the entire leg off.
Swashbuckler 1:  18/20 Health, 10/10 Energy.
[2]  The Swashbuckler tries to duel the vastly suppieor Crusader, somewhat unsurprisingly, it does not work out very well for the swashbuckler.
Swashbuckler 2:  15/20 Health, 10/10 Energy.  Status:  Maimed, Can't fight.
[6]  The Swashbuckler tries to crawl to safety, however, he ends up right next to the elevator shaft.
Pirate Elementist:  dead.
Pirate Rifleman 1:  15/15 Health, 10/10 Fatigue.
[5-1(cover)]  [6 damage]  Shooting through the wooden trashcan, the Rifleman manages to score a hit on Nepthym.  The shield remains up however protecting the Celestial from harm.
Pirate Rifleman 2:  13/15 Health, 10/10 Fatigue.
[1] The rifleman fires down the hallway his shot ricocheting off a wall, [2 damage]  and then hitting chandelier, which falls on top of the rifleman.

Nepthym cringed back from the shot-she felt the heat, but the force was dissipated, thankfully. Never leave home without your cleric, right?

She peeked her head out. Time to nail that bastard...

The horrors man hath wrought will plague them once more.

Akari was satisfied by the final expression on the elementalist's face, being able to show him how her own perspective felt like.

Seeing the situation, perhaps it was better to aid the armored man who patted her head a few moments ago? He seemed pretty much amiable.

"Mordekhai! Move!"

Dragon Breath @ Swashbucklers after moving into a better position to not hit any allies! Then quip on their lack of a buckler!

With bullets and worse flying down the corridor, Tikan decided her cubby hole was the best place to be, for the moment. She kept a watchful eye over the rest of her group.

Stay in cover unless I can flank attack an enemy already committed to attacking Mordekhai or if one of the others is threatened in melee.

Aegnor felt good, considering that his spell managed to shield everyone from the start, while still not being as weak as paper. Deciding to charge, he stopped in his tracks when he heard the kitsune shout out to Mordekhai, and he decided to hesitate, at least until she had finished whatever she was doing.

Once she had done what she did, Aegnor decided to help back up Mordekhai in melee, counter-attacking any who aim at me.
