Zealots & Demons, Turn 62: Door Overkill, Raining KitsuneInto the passageway, full speed!
Duck into the passageway!
Vanguard that passageway!
(A: 4. K: 3. Mob Chase: 3, 3, 3. Random my ass, four threes in a row
.) Fleur darted into the passageway, followed by Kael and Aegnor. Behind them they could hear angry, confused yells. It seemed the mob was splitting up to cover all the possible escape routes; a small blessing. If - or maybe it was more likely to be when - the mob caught up to them, it would take time for the full strength of it to be organized once more. The trio barely had time to process that thought as they charged down the passage. It ended in a wide oak door and (K: 6+2) Kael smashed through it like it was glass rather than wood. While it got them inside, it meant that they couldn't block the door behind them and buy themselves any extra time. Not only that, but a yell of recognition meant that at least some of the mob had cottoned on to where they had went.
A quick look around confirmed they were in a warehouse. There was a large door at the opposite end, which they could barely see past all the crates of goods piled around. Nearby was a staircase leading up to a catwalk from which an overseer could observe shipments being brought in. (You have a few seconds to look around, so if there's any one thing in particular you want to check out quickly
from where you're standing just do an RP post and underline what you want to observe. I'll mini-turn it for ya. I'm sure it's obvious but Aegnor and Kael can check out different things; for example the crates, the door on the opposite end, the catwalk, the stairs themselves, etc.)
Follow Akari, but try to stay on a level lower than her due to armor, advancing carefully. One point in Athletics, go!
Try to get to a higher vantage point for scouting around. The tops of the buildings are preferable.
Keep scouting ahead stealthily, unless Mordekhai would prefer to go first, in which case hide in the shadows as a rearguard.
(A: 2+2. T: M: 6+1. Huh.) Despite her natural agility, the kitsune was swiftly outpaced - quite surprisingly - by Mordekhai, who climbed so quickly and fluidly even in his heavy armor that he found himself at the top of a third floor roof while she was barely getting to the top of a second floor roof. On the ground, Tikan (2+1) was attempting to sneak but failing at it. The thief advanced forward, but (3) didn't find much of anything of interest at the ground level. Just more alleyways. Akari (1. 3, 4/2=2 damage) fell off the roof just as she was getting her footing and plopped into the soft squishy mud behind Tikan. Luckily her pride was hurt more than anything, but it was still frustrating and slightly embarrassing.
Mordekhai looked over the town from his vantage point, trying to figure out where he would go to ground were he a pirate lass. (4) A few locations that caught his eye. There was what he assumed had been a watch tower before it fell into disrepair, a tavern off in the distance, what appeared to be a short apartment building that had an odd haze around it (probably caused by wild magic), and an old dock for airships.
