"If that potion has no... nefarious effects, do you think I could have one?" asked Tikan to Mordekhai, before turning to Akari. "Um... no, I... no. I didn't."

For some reason she was filled with a slightly wistful feeling. She sighed and told herself that she probably needed some action to stay focused... Handsome young Elves... whatever next?!

Follow Mordekhai, presuming he knows where we're going.

"Each one of us is getting one." Mordekhai answered. "Here, have yours and let's meet with Fleur."

The crusader gave Tikan a potion and kept on walking.

((Official ruling I've ben toying around with in my head for a while now, seeing as how Akari is the offspring of Wild Magic and a mortal, she actually won't need a protection potion, she, in essence is naturally corrupted and in some ways has protection from the effects of Wild Magic))

((Yay! Still I'm holding on to that  :P))

Akari held up the potion to face level before holding it by it's neck and keeping a thumb on it's stopper. It was a weird thing, but it must've been given out of good intention. Perhaps one of those remedy potions wounded people kept on boasting about drinking.

I wonder how dancing could provoke any emotions in Mordekhai...He always seemed the stoic type. He did say 'Bar' though...so, perhaps it's a cultural thing?

Hrrmm. Dancers are deeply respected where I come from. Must question later.

Follow, follow, follow, follow the armored Mordekhai~!

Zealots and Demons, Turn 59:  Infiltration

Quote from: Ochita, Fleur, and Zako
Be Team 1, Infiltrate the Quarantine.

[Group Stealth Roll: 2] As a group, you're not exactly stealthy, [Roll to Avoid Encounters: 5]  It doesn't matter though, as Fleur leads you int a basement near the Quarantine zone and through a secret wall in the basement and into the Quarantine, after you down your potions, of course.  After drinking it, you feel distinctly more 'you'.  [Roll to Infiltrate: 4]  You travel up out of the basement, noting that much of the woodwork is beginning to show signs of crystallization.  You get to the street level and duck into an alley as several mutated denizens of the area pass.  You stare at them as they seem to be more animal now than human.  One of them even had a pair of dragon wings and the body of a mouse.  This is definitely going to be a strange little trip you're on.

Quote from: Tiruin, Caellath, and lawastooshort
Be Team 2, Infiltrate and Find Fleur.

[Group Stealth Roll: 4] Tikan, knowing her role well helps infiltrate the group into the quarantine by showing you along the backroads and finding a lightly guarded quarantine post, just one guard. [Roll to Avoid Encounters: 5] Mordekhai talks with the guard, telling him he's their to relieve him of his duty.  Apparently it's just about time to change shifts so he believes it easy enough allowing the group easy access to the quarantine, and maybe an easy way out as well. You all drink your potions, excepting Akari, and head inside. [Roll to Infiltrate: 2] As you enter you encounter an illusion right away that blocks your path.  You can't really be sure of what is behind it.  It appears to be a giant green fire coming up out of the ground thought the temperature around you remains the same.  "Well, Akari, you're the expert here, what do you think we should do?"

Kael glanced down the street where the mutants and walked and did the same for the opposite way.

"This place seems pretty big, and there's plenty of places to hide. Where do we start looking for her?"

((SC wil be running this for a while, during which time I will be working on lore and keeping up with some school stuffs.  His turns count just as much as mine so no slacking.  :P ))

"If I 'ad to bet, I would bet on one of ze buildings built into ze wall, but she could be anywhere, nothing to do but get started." Fleur says quietly, trying not to blow their cover to any nearby mutants or creatures.

* Tiruin prepares to party.
))

"It's obviously an illusion, but I'm thinking it's more of a concealment for traps than a deterrent for any would-be-thieves. I mean, the temperature is more than enough to tell it.

Err, hold onto this please,"
Akari said, handing over that one potion back to Mordekhai while addressing them both. "You're sure we can't try another path?"

"You're sure we can't try another path?"

"I don't see why not." Mordekhai answered, shrugging.

He stared at the flames for some time before looking back at Akari. "I don't suppose it would be the only way in, or people would have way more trouble."

Try another path.

"I have no idea why we're here actually. This is to help Fleur, right? Or...help that person you talked to earlier?

"I'll just...err, try to...sense around this fire."

Try to discern anything hidden by the fire! Pressure plates, traps, hidden eyeholes...anything that endangers our secrecy here.

"If this is for your armored and really tall brethren, then I bet they wouldn't use magic in this only room."

[Mordekhai auto-fail: SC railroading for good reasons] Mordekhai considered trying another path, but then realized the futility of such an action. First, he would either have to talk his way past the new gate guard or explain to the old one, should he still be hanging around, why he's turning around and leaving. Next is that, as they progressed from that checkpoint, they've seen no other routes in. Finally, even were they to leave and find another route, it was likely they would be far too late to help Fleur - or worse, get there after either she or Maria had already died.

The only thing for it was to figure this thing out and move on as quickly as possible. They just didn't have time to turn around.

(Just giving you an opportunity to try a more useful action before everyone posts and I do a turn. ^^^;)

((An explanation that might not have been entirely clear, there is no rhyme or reason behind wild magic, things can appear, disappear and shift at random (although you'll probably die before it shifts to favor you in particular).  It is not there because it was put there, it is because it is.))
