Name: Tikan
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Bio: Tikan was... no. You'd have to go further back to explain. Her grandfather was... planted, so to speak, an investigator and a warden in the service of a great lord, planted in foreign lands like the grass, to grow and become unremarkable, a part of the background, poised to strike when finally called upon, placed to listen when others might expect him not to. To his enemies he was a teacher, and viewed as a friend; to his overlord he was one more cog in a machine.
Her grandfather trained her father; passed on the secret techniques, the allegiance, the lie that he himself had lived and, when he died an old man, the duty passed to Tikan.
Not long after, two generations worth of hiding in the open and quietly collecting the information that would lay bare the enemies of Tikan's overlord vanished in a flash. War took over the land. Her family's years of service were soon worth nothing as, although she remained undiscovered, her overlord's dynasty was toppled. She set out to find somewhere else to grow, her mind a mix of acceptance at her family's fate and simmering, barely understood turmoil. She didn't quite know what she was for anymore, as daft as she found the idea.
Description: Tikan is 5 foot 5, fairly slim and dresses plainly. She, like her father and grandfather, used to pretend to be – no, used to be, in fact – a village tutor, earning a very meagre keep teaching the children of more well off familes how to read and write. This sometimes comes across in her demeanour. She's in her late twenties.
