Hearing Akari's words, he stopped what he was doing and looked at Mordekhai, mentally cursing himself for being insensitive, he softened his expression, into one of gentle concern. He remained silent, looking at Mordekhai. He felt bad for not stopping to reassure to the others that he would be fine, or to at least check on them after what had happened. He would've preferred to just chalk it up to a desire to leave this place, but that didn't excuse not checking up on his allies, his friends.

Zealots and Demons, The Fall of a God, Turn 96:  Heart Palpitations

Quote from: lawastooshort
Strike the strange woman striking Kael!

[1]  You stealthily slide into the room and move behind the woman who is attacking Kael.  As you attempt to stab her, your dagger gets caught in the wood.  Surprised, you let go and find yourself without a knife temporarily.

Quote from: Zako
Cast lesser heal on myself and be a meatshield for the more squishy members of the group by blocking the way of the wooden women.

[1]  Your mind feels to fuzzy right now to really heal yourself, maybe after this.

Quote from: Ochita
Rejoin with Kael and Tikan, casting a lesser heal on myself.

[6]  You limp on into the room and start thinking about healing spells.  Your mind is still reeling from learning the spell and from the mana tears... which have now begun to crystalize on your face.

Quote from: Caellath
Stay nearby to protect Aegnor and Akari while the foxfolk tries to help him.

((I'm going to read this as attack the wood woman who has moved already, simply because Aegnor and Akari should be rejoining the main party now.))

[3] [6+1/2=4 damage]  You enter the room and punch the first scantily clad wooden woman you see.  You're momentarily thankful they aren't flesh and blood or this would be a lot harder, what with all the exposed skin.  The mere thought of it causes you to blush slightly.

Quote from: Tiruin A.I.
Move into the next room, use my new found enchantment powers to set the remaining Caltrops on fire.

[4] Akari sees the party surrounding the first wooden woman and then realizes most of the team can't get to the second one because of the caltrops.  Acting quickly she focuses her mind on enchanting the caltrops with the most damaging thing she can given the circumstance.  Not long after the caltrops light with bright blue and orange flame.  That should severely hurt the wooden women.

Quote from: Fleur
Throw a knife at the farther away woman attempting to off balance her and knock her into the Caltrops.

[3] [3/2=2 damage] [2(Fleur)vs1(Wooden woman)]  Fleur takes out one of her throwing knives and throws it in such a way that it should off balance the woman.  It's not particularly effective by itself, but it knocks the woman over into the caltrops where she catches on fire.  It's clear panic has set in now.

Enemies:
Scantily clad wood woman 1:  [4] The scantily clad woman, have no options but to fight from her current location attempts to cast another spell.  [3+2 damage] Still focusing on Kael, he can feel his heart start to race and beat abnormally.  These... whores clearly were more than just that, they murdered their clients here under the guise of a heart attack while using their services.
Health:  8/25
Mana:  4/10
Status:  Fire Caltrops, take 15 damage if a movement action is taken.

Scantily clad wood woman 2:  [1]  The woman again tries to strike Kael, but she's caught off guard as he ducks down and throws her across the room.  [5(wooden woman)vs3(Kael)  Kael attempts to aim her towards the caltrops but she lands well outside of the danger posed by the caltrops.  Curses.
Health:  16/25
Mana:  10/10
Status: None

Aegnor's face now had two lines of semi-sparkling crystal on it, Aegnor was not however in the mindset to actually remove them yet, seeing the fight between the wooden ladies, and the party. Trying to get his thoughts into place, Aegnor prepared a healing spell.

Heal Kael!

"I am fine, but we should get this finished as fast as possible." Mordekhai says as he uncoils the chain from his arm and prepares to swing it offensively like he had done a few times before. He is silently glad these women are made of wood or fighting them would have been far more difficult.

Swing and catch the thurible's chain around the legs of wood woman 2 to drag her on top of the caltrops; curbstomp her face against the spikes things if necessary. Try to heal Kael with Lesser Heal.

"Hey steve." You speak into the air.

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.

((I was thinking if I could enchant weapons, really :P Just not caltrops))

Upon sighting the wooden women in full clarity (as opposed to just glancing at them upon entry), Akari felt her lip quiver. "They're living trees."

Enchant Mordekhai's weapon with a burst of force!

Kael snarled in fury at the spell that the abomination had just cast on him, having come to the realisation of what these things had been doing.

"You'll pay for what you've done monster!"

Slam Wood Woman 1 and finish her off!

Zealots and Demons, The Fall of a God, Turn 97:  Death of a Prostitute

Quote from: Ochita
Heal Kael!

[3] [4/2=2 healed] Regaining your composure you heal the troll, but it doesn't seem to be very effective.

Quote from: Tikan
Get my knife back! If possible use it to stab!

[1] You try to get your knife back by taking your time to write these ladies a strongly worded letter.  Even after delivery it doesn't seem to be very effective.

Quote from: Caellath
Swing and catch the thurible's chain around the legs of wood woman 2 to drag her on top of the caltrops; curbstomp her face against the spikes things if necessary. Try to heal Kael with Lesser Heal.

[6] You chase after the the woman but trip over a soiled chair.  Needless to say this wasn't part of the plan.  [5] [3x2=6 healed] You do manage to heal Kael though.

Quote from: Tiruin
Enchant Mordekhai's weapon with a burst of force!

[5]  You decide to enchant Mordekhai's Flail with pure damage.  It is difficult, but ultimately you find the weapon receptive to your power.  It now glows faintly blue, telling of it's enchanted nature.  You can also tell it will not be able to be enchanted again.  You feel drained but can tell your enchantment is of a permanent nature rather than a fleeting one.

((I suppose this is the best time to introduce the original use of the enchantment system.  Enchantments can provide minor (up to major) benefits to your gear.  You might have re-read over Jacelyna's profile, all of her gear was enchanted, most of it highly. She couldn't be disarmed, could cast two spells in a single turn, couldn't be found by sound and had additional mana regeneration.  All of these and more are possible through the enchantment system.  Though none of you have used it yet, the same effects are also possible through Engineering as well as the creation of guns, bullets, and explosives.  It is dependent on whether your character trusts more in magic or in technology as to which would be more preferred.  There are also some that are easier for one class than another.  For example, Engineering can add damage much more easily by sharpening or adding weight stones to the weapon to better balance the weapon.  Enchanting must magically create a permanent source of damage.  Enchanting however can easily create effects like fire where Engineering must secure a source of fuel.  Happy equipment modifying.))

Quote from: Zako
Slam Wood Woman 1 and finish her off!

[5] [6+2x2=16 damage]  In a moment of pure rage you decide to run over the enchanted fire caltrops (10 damage) and finish killing the wooden woman which you do quite efficiently.  After killing her she transmogrifies into a much smaller wooden doll similar to the ones from earlier.  She's already on fire.... this might not end well.

Quote from: Fleur
Backstab the other wooden woman.  Attempt to throw her on the fire caltrops.

[4]([2]+[3]+2=7 damage] Fleur quickly stabs the woman in the back before [5](Fleur) vs [3](woman) pushing her over into the caltrops where she quickly burns to ash.  Briefly it looks like a doll will appear but with no wood to reform from the doll never materializes and instead, [1 damage done to ALL living creatures in the house 5 total] a bit of a whimper sounds forth.  You almost feel sad for the ghosts forced to live through such an existence.

Enemies:
Scantily clad wood woman 1:  dead
Status:  Burning, will wail in 1 turn

Scantily clad wood woman 2:  dead

Aegnor looked at the doll on fire, the flames beginning to creep up its sides. He wondered just what could be done, the whimper still fresh in his mind... There had to be something that he could do. Unbidden, the new spell in his mind rose to the surface, like bubbles creeping up from a deep darkness. As it lay on the tip of his tongue, he wondered if he actually should cast it.. Deciding not to, he threw it back down into the depths of his mind, and instead decided to try to pacify the doll.

Slowly, Aegnor began to softly sing an elven resting song, a type that was used at funerals. He wished that the ghosts of this place could lift their burdens, and softly float to the afterlife, free from the chains of misery and regret.

Attempt to free this spirit from the earthly coil without it screaming at us.

((Net problems//timezones here, sorry o-o))

Akari covered her ears with her hands, at the same time looking at Mordekhai. She wondered how it was like having smaller, rounder and less fluffy ears...

"Noise!"

She took a deep breath as the screaming died out and looked at the scene.

"Who would employ mannequins in-they were with the dolls, weren't they? Kael, you're badly burned. I'll tend to you."

Apply first aid onto Kael, if he accepts.

((sorry!))

"Bother... How strange. I ususally write the most delightful strongly worded letters. You know, that... thing looks like it's going to... something? Like the doll?"

Retrieve knife and stash it away. Duck and cover in the corner of the room with my fingers in my ears.

Mordekhai also helped protect Akari's ears, resting his own, larger hands over hers. "I suppose we have to find a way to deal with these wails. Akari, have you found any way to help the souls depart the wooden figures without screaming?" he asks, looking down at the fox-folk.

Try to concentrate on healing mana faster. Defend group in case of surprise attack.

"I-euh..thanks and-...sound energy maybe?"

Akari unclasped her ears (and was pretty glad to feel Mordekhai's hands on hers) as the still of the room returned to its original state.

"I could try to...well, weave a channel to direct all noise from that high pitch and up away from the ears. Problem being if the voices are Bass or..or such but-" An image of an orchestrated possession appeared in her mind.

She pushed aside the thought; as amusing as it was, in this context it was more convoluted than a joke.

"Kael, can you hold on? I'll try to patch you up after this."

Addendum: If Kael accepts--my action is to heal him this turn.
If not, try to formulate and apply a way to divert hostile sound [at high pitches] away from our [the party's] ears.

"Of course. I could use some patching up..."

Accept healing and see if I can defend myself against the incoming scream somehow. Try to take the brunt of it for my squishier allies.
