Zealots and Demons, Turn 73:  A bit of a boring turn

Quote from: Caellath
Search for the aforementioned presence of the creatures who might have seen what has happened around the docks.

Assist Mordekhai
Quote from: Tiruin
Search for any tracks or traces of any creature that resembles what Mordekhai pointed out - those mutants.

Enchant dog whistle to be louder in that certain pitch range!

[5] You search around the docks trying to find somebody that might have seen what's going on.  You find one house in particular that looks like it still might be inhabited. [4] You knock on the door and hear some movement inside.  "Open the door, I can't get it myself." you hear shouted out at you.  You open it, despite thinking it an odd thing to say, it quickly becomes obvious why though.  A man with the lower half of the horse seems to be stuck inside.  "Sorry about not being able to get the door... space is a bit tight."  he says

((No real need to assist with those rolls, they were good so I just left them as they were >.>  <.<  Not sure what else to do with Tikan's turn))

[4]  You end up at the same house belonging to the centaur.  You're not really sure how Mordekhai got there. . . maybe he has super smelling powers too!  That's how you go there, centaurs have a very distinct smell.

[6]  You try to enchant your dog whistle, but you over-tax the magical construct and it disappears into aether nothingness.

TALKY STUFFZ!
Quote from: Ochita
Meanwhile, Aegnor starts to explore the tower, looking for where the prisoners diary may be.

[6] "I don't want to talk to you anymore, just leave me alone.  Denholm certainly seems to be... erratic.  At a guess he's in here for some fit he had or something.  It's just a guess though.

[6] You look for the effects lock-up area.  It doesn't take too long to find it fortunately.  Unfortunately everything is in a giant collective chest and it's locked.  Also some of the more rowdy prisoners are calling at you, suggesting... well, it'd probably be best to ignore them anyhow.  Now how to get into this chest?

Kael stood silently for a moment, considering his options, before speaking again.

"Alright, I can see that's a bit of a sore subject. I am sorry for bringing that up. Let's change the subject matter then. Why don't ya tell me about yourself? What did ya do for a living before ya came here? Were ya a warrior? A crafter of some kind? A teller of tales? I'd like to know what kind of person ya are, and why ya act like this at someone trying to be nice to ya."

Mordekhai raises his visor, smililing politely at the centaur and offering his hand for a handshake. Politesse rarely hurts.

"I am Mordekhai, pleased to meet you, Sir. I would ask you how you happened to be stuck inside and you are in need of any help, but you may choose not to answer those. I would, however, like to know if you have seen anything suspicious around these parts."

*Poof*

"*Welp* There goes the whistle..."

Akari peered over Mordekhai's shoulder to greet the inhabitant.

"Hello there kéntauros! What are you doing here of all places? Is this your home?"

Aegnor felt embarrised by being there. Firstly he had tried the chest, only to find it was locked, and then the jeering and the snarling started from the prisioners. Afterwards came the catcalls and the suggestions and.. Aegnor shunted that to the side, wondering how he could solve this. He wasn't a lockpicker, he didn't have the key...

Only one thing for it.

Smash the lock.

Gosh. Tikan had heard of such magical beasts but had always thought they were more myth than living breathing truth. She managed to conceal her astonishment.

"Can we help you?"

(Mordekhai)  "Well now, that's quite the question isn't it?  Even after all this, we still don't know who's to blame for the wild magic in this part of town.  I personally think it was an airship engine gone amuck and spread it's taint all over the place, but that's just a guess, given the location of the heaviest crystallization.  It doesn't account for the lack of any inspections showing malfunctioning engines, or for the explosion by the Walls.  Doesn't much matter, I just woke up one day and realized I had the body of a horse.  Now, because of the added bulk and height, I can barely get through these cramped doors and narrow hallways." the centaur explains.  You just now notice he is sitting down and just about as big as the doorway.  It must be a sad existence here for him.

"As for help, unless you feel like knocking down a wall, there isn't much you can do really.  I have friends who come by every now and then and make sure I get plenty of food.  I unfortunately wasn't able to see much of anything from my post here.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you."

(Akari)"Yes, this is my home.  As far as my reason for being here, I live here before, no reason to leave.

(Tikan)  ((Sort of already answered that question in an above statement.))

Denholm sighs, "I was a salesman for As'ci'tili Electrical Engines and Equipment.  Anything else or can I get back to my misery?"

[4] You take out your one-of-a-kind, amazing Death Staff and hit the lock with it.  The lock breaks without complaint revealing the contents of the chest to you.  You search through it.  Inside you find many varied and improvised weapons, the diary you are particularly looking for, a bag of thirty silver coins, some enchanted gloves, and, strangely, a world map.  You take the diary, and then look back, wondering if there isn't something else you should take.

((Hmmmmmmmmm firstly the prisoner says that he works for a electrical engines thing, and the centaur seems to think it was an airship breaking down or something like that. Hm. Also oh god tempted to loot the chest but..))

Aegnor looked at some of the weapons, and shook his head sadly. None of these could-- Wait, what? Still, these weapons are evidence, and so is probably the gauntlets and money. Its bad enough that I'm taking evidence, but I'm not going to steal for my own gain.. Although the map is interesting, I'll just take a look and put it back.I should get back to Kael, and read this diary.

Reunite with Kael, take nothing else, look at the world map for any markers, and try to memorize that.

"Thank you for the assistance, good Sir."

Mordekhai turned back and started to check the area around just in case.
"We should make a last check just in case we have missed anything, but if you want you can go ahead of us, Tikan. I don't think it would be advisable, though."

Make a last check around for any clue or tip then leave to the watchtower.

Kael heard a bang and glanced at Aegnor curiously for a moment, then raising his eyebrows in understanding as he saw him take out a diary.

"I'll get back to ya on that. I need to talk to my friend here, so feel free to take a break."

Kael walked over to Aegnor, looking at the chest dissaprovingly then leaning in close to Aegnor to whisper to him quietly.

"Ya couldn't bother to find a key or something? Oh well, what's done is done, let's have a look."

Read the diary, making sure to do so in a corner where no prisoners can see what I'm doing. Let's find out why the listeners want this thing...

GMed into Following Mordekhai

[5] You take one final look around, but the only thing different is the crystals changing colors as the wild magic slowly runs through it.  You sigh and gather up Akari and Tikan and begin to go towards the Tower.  [5]  You're on the way there when Fluer comes out of an alleyway.  "Good, I was afraid I lost everyone after I 'ad to run from zose ruffians.  Do you know where Monsieur Aegnor and Monsieur Kael are?"  You inform her that's where you are headed right now.  "Ah, excellent.  You do not mind, I take it, if I follow you?" she says falling in step and following you the rest of the way to the tower.

[4]  You pick up and start reading through the diary.  It isn't much to look at, mostly boring to be honest. Then, about halfway through, there are drawing of various pieces of equipment, newer stuff that he has... had to memorize for his job.  Corporate Espionage at it's finest no doubt.

[1] You look at the chest, then at your staff.  For some reason you put the death staff in the chest... it will be safe there.

At last, answers that he could understand. This man was a spy, possibly caught when he was trying to escape with the plans and sentanced to rot here for quite a long time. But who would be interested in these kind of things?

"I'll hold onto this, ya can check the rest of the stuff for anything interesting if ya feel like it, but I think I can see why he's in here... And don't leave your staff behind, I think you'll need it later..." Kael whispered to Aegnor, pocketing the diary inside a shirt pocket under his armor, safely out of harm's way and out of the reach of sneaky hands.

Turning back to the prisoner, Kael walked calmly back over to him.

"Pleasantries aside, it's time to get down to business as the humans say. Who were you working for?"

Follow Fleur, Mordekhai and Akari to the tower, skulking behind slightly and taking a good look at this wild magic deranged place.

(Best time to get sick - when you don't want to XD)

"Hey Fleur! It's nice to see you again! I wonder what happened to you, do you need a bit of triage? Medical aid?" Akari said, mimicking holding up a first-aid kit by its handle with her hands.

"Mordekhai is leading, I personally don't know where we're headed." the Kitsune said, leaning in to remember how Fleur smelled to remember her allies just in case anything went wrong. Including trying to conjure up a medical field kit - despite knowing that it would cost a lot of energy or mana to do.

Also, follow follow follow follow the stalwart armored Mordekhai~

((Welp, fake Fleur will backstab us all, OMGWTFBBW.))

"No problem at all, miss Fleur." Mordekhai said, smiling at the head nurse turned assassin before continuing on his way, leading the group towards the watch tower.

He couldn't help but wonder if his allies had already found a way in, got in before waiting for his results or even if they were now escaping guards and mobs through the streets. Only one way to know, he supposed.

To the watchtower.
